MiniJet Boat Ride: Potomac River!

- Join me on a test run down the Potomac River to see if jet boat travel is still possible with the summer river levels. The river is low now that the summer drought has set in. The rock ledges were close, but travel by my RiverRat Jet Boat is still possible for now.
As always this is a how to metal detecting outdoor adventure vlog that is family friendly and hopefully a fun video.

On this run, the rocks flew by under the boat, but I made it! I hope you enjoy the ride.

That is a hard metric to say. It's down about 2-3 feet from yearly average.

Man, I am so sick of driving this land freighter around the country. I have got to get back out on the water.
I've kayak-fished just about all that area of the Potomac and I can say that if you don't know what you are doing stick to the C&O walking trail for your Potomac experience.
That was an exciting run up the river. You have to pick a spot, aim and gun it. The Jet Boat rides so much better than when you first got it. I remember it used to plow the bow and launch a huge bow wave. Now it is dialed in, it goes on plane beautifully.

I saw the Bavarian Inn.
I have done a bit of that in a canoe in the spring with the eagles fishing the. Went to look for fossils. We found some nice ones.

Give the dense trees, I suspect we are seeing it as the soldiers did.
Of course if you added your equipment, lunch and a couple of artillery shells you might not go back up the river as well!

The water everywhere is soooo low this summer. It legit doesn't rain anymore.
What was the recorded water level? The horseback riffles above Snyder’s Landing are no joke. I ran my outboard jet from Shepherdstown up to the horseback’s on Sunday. The river is LOW LOW.
It was around 1.92 or so at Shep.
There is a ghost you caught on video as you come around to bridge at 3:58 on video zoom in and watch the two small boats go across river to the left part of river there transparent .
Do you carry some form of temporary repair kit, should you punch a hole in the hull when miles from the ramp?
None except my shirt to stuff in any hole.
Hey chig what is the draft of that boat at speed and what is it just sitting saw a couple of rocks go by that did not look too deep
do the people i see in the small boats wave or do they wave with one finger when you go flying by? just a question seems kinda fast and noisy

How much water does your boat draw when you are up on plane?
Odd question Beau, do you ever suffer from forest fires in and around all this treed land? Or is it a very high moisture area as in rain, etc? I never seem to hear of fires in the NE as much as western US.
Occasionally we have some, but it is usually very green here in the summer.

Why do the rocks look like they've been placed in lines throughout your ride?
The ridges are a harder stone then the other that has been dissolved by the water.
Where those old railroad pillars?
First two are/were vehicle bridges and then 2 RR bridges.
I think I’ve watched all your videos. Lately, though, they’ve been pretty low effort.
I’m not fond of water. This ride was creeping me out, especially seeing how close the rocks were! Cringe!
