  • Hey! Thanks for taking time to watch my video. Here I'm changing the oil on my 2000 Jeep Cherokee (XJ 4.0 in line 6 engine). I used the O'Reilly high mileage oil (5W-30), Lucas Oil Stabilizer, and a WIX oil filter (part #51085). All in for this oil change it was around $39.
***This video was a documentation of my progress of my XJ build. Please double check your work or take it to a professional. You are always taking a risk doing your own work. I am one do it yourselfer trying to help other do it yourselvers out there. Hope you enjoyed the video and I will see you on the next one.

Great video. I use a whole bottle of Lucas as well. I just dump the Lucas in first cut the bottom out while it’s draining cause that stuff is super thick. Then use the that as my funnel to dump my oil in. But……but, I never use any wrench of any kind to put any oil filter on. They don’t require much torque because of that annoying rubber gasket. It loves to stick to your block if you don’t oil it as well. 👍

I run 10-30 in mine. Seems to run smoother than when I used 5-30

For general road use, what's the figured recommended interval for changing the oil?
