Hi ! Not being a native English speaker, I like to congratulate you, Lady, for your excellent pronounciation and speed of speech. I understand each and every word you say, what is not always the case. Have a good day and stay safe and healthy.
its a robot.
@@MujoNovak Now I am so deeply disappointed!
As an Australian i'm kinda disappointed that there is no mention of the T908 or the T909. Very iconic truck in Australia. Love the Kenworth trucks. Good video
They have many things that should be mentioned, especially from Australia.
Regulations were different and australian products looked better
Australia gets better trucks and cars than we do
Great video, guys. While you mentioned the movie “Smokie and the Bandit”, you forgot to mention the rusty Peterbilt in Spielberg’s first movie “Duel”.
When I came back from the Army, the T-600 had just come out. I saw my first one in February 1986 just outside the DFW Airport. It was an eye opener!
I drove one of the first T-600s. KW brought two of them to Terrain Tamers, Inc. to try out and we used them to haul veneer on 40'/20' sets from Sun Stud in Roseburg, OR to the coast. Within a couple of years the entire chip truck fleet converted to T-600s, but we still had the 379 Peter Elite Fleet OTR trucks. They had sleepers and we kept them until they brought us two short wheel base ones that we had ordered. What a treat with the increased visibility and maneuverability.
Great video! Many people called the T600 the "anteater" when it came out. Very different for its time.
Thanks for putting my truck in the T660 section
The W990 is only controversial cause people choose to make it that way. There's plenty of room in the market for both of these trucks. It's more like what's your flavor and preference. Some are gonna like the traditional truck and some are gonna like a more modern truck. It's really not that big of a deal, but it is what it is. Great video!
Wayne Norbrey, Jr some people just find it ugly because it’s not what they’re used to seeing in a square hood conventional cab truck. And smart move for KW to bring it out along side the W900 so people will get used to its looks. The W900 is going away due to government mandates for fuel economy... no more external air breathers as of 2025 I believe.
@@chevyon37s
Which is why Mike Dozier had said that their preparing for the future. Your right, it was a smart move, and people make say it's ugly and all, but in all actuality it's not that bad of a looking truck. (My opinion of course) I've liked it from when I 1st got word of it. If you can't have the external air cleaners than this is to me the next best option. The truck goes right along with the 2.1meter cab family of trucks aka the new generation of Kenworth trucks T680 and T880. I've had a chance to see one or quite a few back in March at MATS and after seeing it in person it's definitely one of my favorites.
I love watching your truck history videos
PACCAR Kenworth is located on Ohio SR159 in Chillicothe. Pronounced Chill-eh-caw-thee.. 😉😁 Thx for the video!
I thought it was pronounced BER GER KING!!!
Chilly- coffee
So. Nothing about Sonny Pruitt's Movin On W925 from the 1970s?
I know that truck and that show was one of biggest influence on me and wanting to be a driver as a child.
30 yrs later still out there Movin On!
Somebody has uploaded Movin' On here on TH-cam.
Kat Rag Doll I always thought it was. I didn’t get anything different from this video, so I assume it was something special just for the movie. Thoughts?🧐 Have a great one...and Keep On Trucking! 😎
Another great modern documentary. Great job. I enjoy how jam packed these are with worth-knowing information about Kenworth Trucks history
You missed one hell of a great Kenworth truck that was only available in the Australian market called the SAR. Very short, sloped hood but the truck packed a punch and was well used for road train haulage on some of the roughest roads on earth.
I never saw a truck called W900A until the B model came out in ‘82 and we didn’t know what to call the old ones.
The wide nose came out in 1963 in front of the tiny square door cab. The next year, 1964 introduced the cab with the bulkhead door. That cab had a sharp edge on the dashboard above the clutch that was a shin killer. Corrected in the next year model. That cab had a great run from 64 to 82. I think it was 1972 when door handles went low. That’s the same year Peterbilt finally figured out that a bulkhead type door would stop their cabs from cracking out in the corners. Duh. KW low handle doors were the same size and we retro fit some cabs to the low handle. Great video but some dates are off a bit.
Kenworth Big Rigs is in my top #1of 5 Favorite of All-Time Ever... I also love there Popular legendary K100, W200, W900, T600B, T600
It would be neat if in the future you guys could do a history of Ford heavy duty and GM motors heavy duty
Thank you love this channel thumbs up stay awesome truckers.
I love Kenworth and all of its Rigs but if I could only pick one Rig out of their lineup to be my all time favorite it would have to be the Kenworth W900L model! Kenworth along with their brother company Peterbilt, both a part of Paccar Motors are two of my all time favorite truck manufacturing companies along with Mack, Freightliner, International, Western Star, and the old Autocar. I'm very pleased that the Kenworth W900 Rig was in the movie "Smokey and the Bandit", which is an all time favorite movie of mine too! It was my favorite vehicle in the movie, even more so than the Pontiac Trans Am! I just wish the "Smokey and the Bandit 2" squel would have had the Peterbilt 379 as the Rig component to the team. There was a Peterbilt in the 3rd movie but it was parked in the yard and not used. The Kenworth W900 on the first one was the star vehicle to me with that iconic trailer! Awesome history video! Thanks for your time making these! I'll be watching the Kenworth W900 episode and Peterbilt History next!! 🇺🇸🚛
wow some really nice looking trucks in this video.
Again, I really like the W990, it looks like a modern update of the W900. And, I repeat, that on a Kenworth Dealer video, the dealer said the Kenworth isn't going to get rid of the W900 any time soon.
Thanks for the response. We addressed the w900 and it’s production on another video but thank you!
N&W 2156 Y6a yea that’s what they want you to think. 2024 will be the last production year for W900’s. New government standards for 2025 outlaw external air breathers on road tractors, so they’ll be gone, thus the introduction of the W990 smart move to bring it out early and get people used to seeing them.
@@chevyon37s ah, ok. At least we'll get a 100th anniversary W900. Also, I don't get the outlawing external aircleaners.
@@jackschromeshop8296 cool. Maybe some day you can do a movie trucks video? Also, I found proof the Jerry's rig is alive and well. On my channel I made a playlist of 1 video called HOLY CRAP IT EXISTS, with a somewhat old video of the truck.
N&W 2156 Y6a it’s about fuel economy and aerodynamics. Government/ EPA/ CAFE says external air cleaners are too much drag and reduction on fuel economy.
I love everything and including the intro of your videos love love love this channel
Thanks for watching our videos! We can’t wait to make more!
Jack's Chrome Shop honestly I’m really loving what your putting out.
I love them all there all beautiful to me I got these models of kws an peterbuilts
Very interesting, I never knew Kenworth's history, I remember Snowman's truck, but my introduction to Kenworth was the T2000 in a TV show called 18 wheels of justice in 2000.
The T-2000 had a nice spacious sleeper. The one I had developed power delivery issues.
you all do a great job with truck history keep it up it is nice to see
I've driven a T-800, a T-2000, and a 880 dump truck.
I love Kenworth trucks, in my opinion are the only ones that have Beauty w reliability to match
Wow I learned thanks
Love the long hood!
you forgot The 1978 K100 aerodine From Bj and the bear...is another iconic KW...but is a good video...
KW is the best! Love KW trucks and their history!
The T800 is the very first truck I've ever driven, my favorite being the T600
Can you do a video on Australian kenworth trucks
Yes we will!
Those little Australia's Kenworth truck hide in the red dirt when them big bad Australian Mack trucks rumble through 😆
no T610 mention ? is it frown apon in the states
Looking forward great 👍 truck
Great video!!! Love this channel!!! Can you guys do something on the Mack DM600?
Yes absolutely!
Awesome!!!! Thank you!!!!
Gotta check it out too! I don't know much about mack's
The t600 had 40% less wind resistance and a 200% increase of bugs on the windshield
Lol
8 bag suspension a big point for kw
You said doors on w900 changed in 72, I was told 73. I know the 72 I had few years back had the old doors. I wanted to add a sleeper and paint it two tone Brown but a friend pointed out I had the wrong doors to make it like the snowman's truck
I drove a '72 with the old doors also. But I've seen yr. model '72's with the new doors. It must have been a transition year.
I want a K100 Aerodyne 🤠
2:55 is this at GATS 2018? Been there
My favourite is the bullnose w900 and k100
I'm breathless
I’m still not sure what to think of the w990
Same , looks like you mideswell call it a Volvo W990
I personally hate it. It's a T680 with a set forward axle, nothing unique or special like the original W900. It's cheap and lazy.
I drive a T680. Nice riding truck.
For the next truck history video can you do auto car
Coming very soon!
Good coverage. It is actually pronounced “Chillicothee”, like coffee. KWs have come a long ways...I think that they get even better.
Every non Ohioan ever...
That’s just the way it is...gotta help one another.😃
@@timspiker9550I’m a Virginian, and I pronounce it as “Chillicothee”.
Interesting.
Kenworth got really lucky with those hit movies
Love your voice and videos.
You forgot to tell everybody that kw was a Canadian truck built in Burnaby bc witch was sold to the USA
Why couldn’t Kenworth introduce the L model earlier instead of making drivers wait 8 years for the hood to be extended all because of a movie???
Also I believe you should of mentioned how Kenworth started to expand their company when they started deporting their trucks to countries like Australia and Mexico etc.
What movie are you referring to? License to Kill?
Good truck
No mention of the SAR I know it's an Australian build but it should be here!
My like is number 900.
What is the Kenworth T800
Cool
So... no sound for smokey and the bandit?
What about the T909?
Yet you dont even mention the Australia T900 series - which to me, looks more tough! T909 is my favourite
Sad to see no mention of the CSE trucks.
I love kenworth. The biggest mistake they ever made was discontinue the t660. I have a t680 but I miss my t600 and the t660.
T800 is a pretty good truck
What engines did kw use during the years
Doing a whole new series on the motors that power these trucks. Coming in the next couple weeks so stay tuned!
Chill a coath…? Haha. I call dibs on the next script! I know what to do when I see a word I’ve never heard before. Google!
SECOND TO NONE!
I feel like y'all keep forgetting to mention (both in this video, the video on the W900, and the video on the Mack R series) the role that they played in the media.
okay, this video is an exception, but the truck is a '73 model year.
Can you do a history on Detroit diesel engines
Yes, coming next Friday.
Ya’ll forgot about the T800, the C500 and the Kenworth 963.
Didn't even mention paccar!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Barely mentioned the revolutionary T600 and no mention at all of the T2000?
Love the vid but still waiting on the vid of sterling trucks
10:48 that’s not a t700 that’s a 660
Sorry what year did WW2 start?
Depends on what country you are. Some could argue as early as 1937.
Yeah guess nothing can use “World” until America is involved 🤣🤣
❤
What about Aussie Kenworths ????
The same as western star was A Canadian truck first and so was hayes from Canada
👍🏼Nice👍🏼
The best looking KW is the first generation Australian SAR.
Ya! YAY! WHoo hOO!!!
you guys didnt cover KENWORTH construction trucks( dump trucks )
Did the WWll military trucks have diesel engines?
aslong as you were doing movie trucks you forgot 2 that were on every week sonny and will's truck on movin on and Bj and the bear cab over
Covered it in our last video on the W900!
You missed out when KW went metric!
wheres the k108 ..k200, t610 ??
6:08:
Y’all mispronounced Chillicothe.
Chil-Luh-Kaa-Thee.
I was the 5000 super
3:00 Uh, honey, that is the year America joins the war, not the year the WW2 begin.
The reference was to America’s combat involvement in the war because KW is an American company. Thanks for watching.
My dad owned a pot of kenworth with one winch kenworth burning sadly
No love for the 801/802?
Hi anik weres my masterclass i have signed up twice
Hay hauling
That’s not the complete history of Kenworth. They have been building trucks in Melbourne Australia for 50yrs. They are a beefed up version of the American trucks, just up specked to handle Aussie outback.
The paint on the ICON is embarrassing! For what they charge it should have been sanded smooth and polished!
Aerodyne
Where's the kenworth t908 or the legend
I don’t remember hearing about the 925
Before you hire someone to narrate, make sure they know how to enunciate.
why is everyone leaning away from the long hood conventional American way truck the 990 aint going to make it
It's gonna make it cause people are already ordering them.
Didn't change much from 62
I like the t680 better
Many of these trucks were painted by a serial murderer named Gary Ridgway.
