- Another busy week driving our beautiful country. This week I did two trips to Palmerston North and back to Auckland carting chilled and frozen products.

Retired now , this reminds me of what I am missing.. Once a truck driver , always a truck driver .. it gets into your blood and never leaves. Beautiful sound / jake brake is fantastic. Thanks for sharing .

One of my uncle's Guy Knowles used to work for child freighters and kevys transport out of Palmerston North during the school holidays I used to travel with him all the time, I got to see a lot of the North Island as a young child travelling alongside him in his Mack ultra-liner

Do you have tachographs that record the driver's activity?
How many kilometers are you able to drive in a day?

You can work 14 hours a day 5 1/2hours then 30min break and repeat. then have a 10 hour break
No tachographs here we run a daily logbook
And if you have a good day you can do about 1000ks in 13 hours drive time.
Speed limit is 90kph 🫳🏼😄

I drove for 40 years and put quite a few miles on a couple different cabovers.
It's funny because I was really happy when they loosened up the overall length laws
here in the U.S and everyone started running conventionals, but I do miss the cabovers.

I am from Slovenia, EU we dont have that kind of trucks how clean are the emissions, we have pretty strict here in EU..

It’s a guardian sleeping camera mate will vibrate the seat if you take your eyes off the road or fall asleep haha.

Bit of both,Clutch on down changes
@Thatfatcab104 oh yup, for floating, are you normally shifting around the 1200rpm mark or 1500rpm? Ik most cummins engines are good at around the 1200-1500 mark if I'm not mistaken, correct me if I'm wrong. Do you have a favorite engine or not really. Mines are the Cat C15 6NZ, C12 and the 3406E straight pipe, along with the Cummins N14 Redtop.

We run all our frozen that cold mate. And yeah most of the time I do. Mainly on down shifts I use the clutch

The thing on the pillar is a sleep camera. it vibrates the seat if you nod off or aren't paying attention to the road. the trailer is 14m long
