He might not know what “doctor” or “toenails” means, but he’s fully aware it has a negative connotation. It’s why he reacts the way he does. Max has PLENTY to say when the carrier comes out. So very much complaining to do! It's nonstop for 10 minutes at a time, and features all sorts of dramatic gestures for emphasis - flapping and angry head bobs, various aggressive displays... He puts on quite a show. And I know his poor little birdy heart is breaking, but I can't help but laugh and laugh.
Max say what you want but you still have to go to the Vet. Toe nails have to be clipped for your own good! It keeps this birdy healthy. Awww, our sweet boy is so upset again at just the mention of the word "vet", then at the sight of the carrier goes from low voice concern to high pitch anxiety, even shaking. Our hearts always go out to Max on these days, but we know the trip will be short, and when he returns he will be back to his more relaxed self. Awww, our sweet boy is so upset again at just the mention of the word "vet", then at the sight of the carrier goes from low voice concern to high pitch anxiety, even shaking. Our hearts always go out to Max on these days, but we know the trip will be short, and when he returns he will be back to his more relaxed self. I really wish it were possible to mentally communicate with Max that if he let's Dan trim his nails directly, these visits would not be necessary .. We need a Bird Whisperer .. Love you Sweetie ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That's so true, Debbie. If only our Max could understand how necessary the trimmings are, and that there are various ways they can be accomplished. The poor dear could save himself, Dan, and the vet so much anxiety. At least we know they're trimmed for awhile..

@@rhondaz356 Yes, Rhonda, I was very fortunate with all my birds in that they always let me do their nails directly. I used one of those electric filers and they sort of thought it was a game so they let me do it. Sending my special love to you too, as always, my beautiful, sweet, and so very kind friend ❤️❤️❤️

Max will probably always feel this way about the vet trips, but at least he gets over it quickly. Dan, Everytime I play this particular video, my cats come running. I can't help but laugh!!! They sit and listen. I swear they know what Max is going on about. They absolutely hate when they have to go to the vet for their nails ...it's a real process. That being said they can symponize with Max because they know what's in store for him
