Animals are the only once who shows true emotions.
Some humans do as well, but they risk a lot to do so.

Seeing him act when happy, gives you an idea of how sad/depressed they are when they arent feeling well and start plucking their own feathers out.
Are you talking about the man or the bird?
Animals actually suffer from depression just like humans. In my opinion plucking is a self harm behavior. Some humans will pull their own hair out when feeling stressed or overwhelmed, especially children. Since parrots have intelligence akin to that of a human toddler, it makes perfect sense.
Not trying to be negative on a video like this, but the parrot will probably get really depressed when the man will die, since he obiouvsly really loves him and will likely live for more than 20 years.
Well if the lowest point I've ever had in my life was ripping my hair out on the floor and screaming I can sympathize. Very sad.

Man:Tries to kiss bird
Bird: *attempts to eat his eye*
LOLOL!
That's what i was thinking, too! There's an *immense* amount of trust, love, and well earned faith there on both sides. Dad's trusting son not to use that clearly powerful beak on his eye, and son is trusting dad not to call him near and then use that proximity to abuse him. When you take the time, and have the patience, to work with an animal to show them that you'd never do anything to hurt them, that you respect their right to either have something to do with you,or not, of their own volition, never forcing them, they'll pay you back with more love, devotion, and trust than you'll ever know what to do with.
I take riding lessons, and the need for trust on both sides is there, too. I'm getting on the back of an animal who could easily decide that he doesn't want me in his space(and he *has*,twice!) and throw me...I get up there knowing that today very well could be the day I'm on him one moment, and crushed under hoof, looking down at myself from the afterlife, explaining "I don't know what happened, God....I gave him a little heel, I registered that I was suddenly gaining more airtime that I ever have before, and I'm here now!"...but i'm trusting that he'll take care of me. I'm trusting that an animal whose language I will never speak, that i have to communicate with through gentle hands and heel, that if he goes with what i want to do, I'll make sure we're both safe at days end.
Yup, that checks out - my bird tries to throw off my glasses!
Hahaha. That was my impression also.

You cant tell me that animals with small brains have little understanding. The power of emotion is awesome
That's because intelligence has little to do with the actual size of the brain. That's why most whales aren't typically super intelligent. They're smart, but not as complex as dolphins for example. It's about the weight&volume of the brain in relation to the weight&volume of the animal's whole body. That correlates much better with intelligence. Then on top of that obviously the structure of the brain itself. Does it fold over itself, does it have ridges, etc.
@@Arbitrary_Moniker thank you for giving a fuck and knowing that. On a side note einstein actually had a below average sized brain

@@LeratoM98 Lol. No. Life is life. Humans are not worth more than any other animal. We're capable of so much more, but one of our failings is that we suck most of the time and are stupid. @Thias176 And there's a difference between domesticated Cockatoos and free ones.
Thias176 who said anything about birds being in cages?? You basically took someone saying, “Aww I love this video it gives me joy” and yourself saying, “Take my negative comment that no one asked for nor does relate to the comment or video.”
No one has EVER been this excited to see me. It must be nice.
To be fair, seeing a human being react this way to your presence would probably scare the hell out of you because it’s not normal for people to do this.
If you ever have the space and the money and the time, try raising a dog or a cat or any animal, as long as you can devote your time to them and do plenty of research before adopting them to be sure that you and they are right for each other.
Dogs get very excited when you come home, most cats might not be as demonstrative, but they won’t feel right until you are with them.
I had a pet crow that was the same way. Hard for me to explain how smart the crow was. Parrots are too I gather.
You know how chimps can learn sign language? Do birds have something similar because I would love to hear what they have to say.
That is a cockatiel, but no hate
Crows are incredibly intelligent. Probably more so than parrots. Of course, that's one thing that makes them hard to keep as pets.
@@catatonicbug7522 I'll vouch for that. Science recently is declaring them the smartest of all animals. He was scary smart. And the thing that so amazed me was how keyed in on emotional states he was. People who met him were frequently moved by his "sentience", something they'd never seen in an animal. Because he would so closely study a stranger. Unnervingly still stare directly into your eyes. He would work on solving problems for days. I'd hide his toys around the house and he'd look everywhere till he found it. Intense concentration he had. His favorite thing was any open droor, because he could explore all the objects. He was very suspicious of strangers but as soon as he detected I liked someone, and he was watching and listening and feeling the interaction I had with someone, then they were part of the "murder" immediately. If that didn't happen he would watch from afar. Mostly I let him roam the house at will. He loved water and learned to turn faucets on and take baths daily. It's just really hard to describe how sentient he was. They like to take naps and I'd take naps with him. So I'd sit down, he'd watch and if I closed my eyes he'd fly over and sleep on my shoulder for short naps. I sort of had a language I developed with him. Crow sounds. You might know they have quite the language, many sounds/words identified by us. So I'd say go get the blank/toy and he'd know where he hid it. Great memories they have and they love to hide things. He wasn't hard to live with I think because we communicated so well. I raised him since he was a featherless nestling so I was a crow to him. I:d say the key is to realize they live to figure out how things work and if you give them things to do and explore they will keep themselves busy. Nothing to do in a barren cage is torture for them His name was Buddha. A most amazing being.

The bond between a human and an animal is so fascinating and amazing. I love this so much. ❤
Humans are animals as well. So, the bond between fellow animals restore the love and peace in the natural world.

My friends cockatoo starts singing when I come in because he knows I’ll sing with him. It’s adorable. Also he keeps trying to present to me as a possible mate. Less adorable lol

Cockatoos and other parrots can be lifelong friends. They live a long time if properly cared for.
I have a cockatiel that used to do that when my ex- husband got home! 😂😂 She knew the sound of his car and everything.
What a beautiful connection between Onni and his daddy! ♥️
Ex husband?? 1st of all "" Hi my names Mark & i to am divorced"" 2nd Now u should train the bird to claw & bite the bastards eyes out at first site. Lmao... Sorry but had to im sure u understand lol

Apparently my bird would freak out right before I would come back inside the house from high school when my Ma was home 😅 Was kind of weird because he'd apparently start like a minute or so before I even reached the house

When my mom and dad had their ADT Home Security System installed, their two birds, a Blue Crowned Conure named Sugar, and a Cocktiel named Spitz, along with their chiuaua named BB,started making a simultanious racket, and the installer laughed and said "Ya'll sure you need an alarm system?"

Kids scare the hell out of me.
My macaw knows the sounds of my car pulling up (can tell the difference between the wife's too) and will start calling for me the second I park
God bless you for being so gentle and tender with your pet .
Macaws are very smart.
So sweet
YNGMAKA 😂💀
That is too funny.😆
I grew up with a cockatoo in the house. I’m 49 now, my mom had it since she was a teenager and it passed away 30 years ago at the age of 55. I’d like to point out all the damage on the windowsill and around the corners of the walls and skirting. Our house was just like that. Those birds are loud, smart and destructive. Ours used to take delight in pulling out the loops in the carpeting, remove anything hanging anywhere (Christmas decorations, wreaths, laundry on the line, etc). Every single outside corner on every baseboard was chewed. He would pry off doorstops, chew the corners of furniture, chew through cords. To say our bird made life interesting is an extreme understatement.
😆😆😆😆😆 yeah, but you loved him eh?
@ we sure did 🥰
Gotta love that jumping for joy as soon as he walks through the door 😀so adorable! 👍

DADS ARE SOOO IMPORTANT, to dogs, cats, birds, anything that understands "look, daddy's home" . To all the men out there that are good to women, and family and ESPECIALLY animals....PROPS😂🤘👌🤜🙏👏💖👄

Dude . Yes to your comment
I love how every pet knows them as "daddy" and "mommy". My dog goes ecstatic when my parents come home.
I don’t had a dad :(
@Jewels Star Wow. Why you brought the president into this is beyond me. Anyway, #Trump2020
That's something else. I think he is a daddy's bird.
