    Super helpful video. I've been hoping to get a clearance Fast and Furious but may go with the Star Wars option for my future driving and shooting mod. Looking forward to seeing the next video.

    That is an awesome mod! Nice to know there's life after the A1up PCB goes. By the way, you really need to get all of your arcade cabinets off the remotely powered line, as slamming raw power into a computer will damage it's power supply, or worse, the PCB. You have to let your cabinets do their graceful power on/off cycles. Oh, and insurance won't cover any device that's plugged into remotely powered sources when they fry. You can keep effects lighting on those lines, though. Thanks for the tutorial. Will definitely look into that mod kit. :)

    • @thetechbuzz
      @thetechbuzz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They all don’t power up simultaneously. Plus the ones with a computer I shut down manually. Not sure where you heard they will fry, but that’s not true, been doing this since 2017 with these cabinets. Plus all you need is a voltage regulator if you’re that worried :) Not sure where you heard insurance won’t cover electronics if they are on smart switches, because again, that’s not true.

      @ThomasGrillo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thetechbuzz Back in 18, I took a direct hit lightning strike. All my stuff was on surge protectors, and they all still fired. Lost a 10,000 industrial video projector, some effects lighting, and all of the early A1up cabinets. Luckily, the computers were on uninterruptable power supplies. But, the insurance company refused to cover the stuff I lost. It is very true. LOL Never do business with a local insurance agent.

    • @thetechbuzz
      @thetechbuzz  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThomasGrillo WOW dude, I'm sorry to hear that! To be fair, and full disclosure, I have all my computers, TV's, arcades, consoles on 40-60 min battery backups/surge protectors. I guess I should have stated that first. BUT they did you dirty!

    • @ThomasGrillo
      @ThomasGrillo 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@thetechbuzz The adjuster did state that if the computers, which were on UPSs had gone, too, they'd have covered them. I really should be doing what you've done. I got too wrapped up in collecting 3/4 scale cabs to devote enough funds towards UPSs for the rest of the toys. Another thing that didn't help, was the fact my wiring is old aluminum 2 wire type. The grounding was woefully insufficient. Same for the lug, The electrician I had to do repairs to the system wasn't able to update the old wiring, but at least installed a new lug, and 6 foot copper grounding rod, and then installed proper 3 pronged outlets in all sockets. Still not optimal, but better than nothing. Still have to update the breakers. Only 4 switches to cover the whole house, so I can only run one arcade room at a time. LOL Tons of work to be done here. Yeah, I should've been dealing with a nationally known insurance company. You can use a local rep for one, just not a local insurance company. they hate writing checks. They were even kind enough to drop my coverage after the filing. LOL And that was after 30 years of claim free patronage.
