I was brought up in Jalisco by the sea on a basic diet - tomatoes, chilis, peppers of every size and rice, which is a Mexican staple. The Pacific coast has a huge array of seafood. Love from Korea🇰🇷💕
I've lived in the southeastern USA my whole life and every Mexican restaurant I've ever been to had chimichangas. It's odd, to me, to hear you guys say it's rare to see on a menu lol

I now live in Peoria AZ and my husband and I are taking a culinary trip down to Tucson this weekend to try out this restaurant!! Sooooooooooo excited to try the original! We actually have a small restaurant in the Netherlands that has chimichangas! It's called Arizona tex mex, the owner didn't get that arizona doesn't have tex mex...... The original owner named it arizona taco house. She was from Tuscan so the flavors are legit! It's in Eindhoven in the Netherlands.

Trust me... I live in Tucson as well.. You're not missing much! Go to St Mary's cafe or Gran Guadalajara! You'll get better food... St Mary's is a lil hole in the wall and the food is absolutely amazing!!!

I’m from Tucson and been here all my life. I’ll be honest El Charro isn’t my favorite. So many other better spots for the price. It isn’t bad but that downtown rent kills the price.

Hmmmm. The mechanics are almost the same....but the chimmichungas are a world apart in taste and feel. Its different from Asian spring rolls. The spring rolls are good too.
@@jayleon89 Idk. I had them both. And literally the flour that is used for both are worlds apart. The chimmichungas has flour that is thicker - like pastry....perfect for the overstuff of things they put in the chungas. The flour for the springs rolls is soft and delicate pefect for the light things they put in the springrolls.
The same "accident" origin story is told about the French Dip Sandwich. There's also the "random leftovers become a dish" tale told about Buffalo Chicken wings and the Philly cheese steak.

I've had Chimichanga about two years ago at El Cholo in Pasadena California, and I loved it. This video woke up my appetite for it, I'm gonna go to El Cholo this weekend for Chimichanga.
I saw Jeffrey and Jorge with you that was the most appetizing table of Mexican Food I've ever seen!!!! Love El Charro! I think we have one here in Evansville, IN in the Ohio Valley that's family owned as well. I have to go back there again. It seems like the one in Tuscon. Have had their Chimichangas and the same texture of meat was there. Love that kind of guacamole with tomatoes, onions, jalapeño. Never had the taco pattie that's different but the little minis is what I get there. Always have to take the dinner home. Just love Mexican Food. Also we Los Bravos authentic Mexican food. Mexican family owns and operates 4 resteraunts here and little towns around Evansville. So good love their fresh salsa.
LOL, that's the first time I've ever seen anyone eat a Chimichanga with their hands. I guess if it where dry....most aren't. Usually come wet or melted with something on it.
OMG, I was salivating all the way through this video! When I visited my Tucson cousins in 2010, they took me to the El Charro where I tried one of their amazing Chimichanga's. I still remember that meal and I would love to go back there for another one (or several).
I think one of the purposes of this trip for Mark and his family is to get good vaccines from America. which cannot be found in Thailand at this time / It is a smart journey for the Wiens family.

I've had Chimichanga about two years ago at El Cholo in Pasadena California, and I loved it. This video woke up my appetite for it, I'm gonna go to El Cholo this weekend for Chimichanga.
We always stop at El Charro when we pass through Tucson. The Carne Seca is something special!

I saw Jeffrey and Jorge with you that was the most appetizing table of Mexican Food I've ever seen!!!! Love El Charro! I think we have one here in Evansville, IN in the Ohio Valley that's family owned as well. I have to go back there again. It seems like the one in Tuscon. Have had their Chimichangas and the same texture of meat was there. Love that kind of guacamole with tomatoes, onions, jalapeño. Never had the taco pattie that's different but the little minis is what I get there. Always have to take the dinner home. Just love Mexican Food. Also we Los Bravos authentic Mexican food. Mexican family owns and operates 4 resteraunts here and little towns around Evansville. So good love their fresh salsa.

LOL, that's the first time I've ever seen anyone eat a Chimichanga with their hands. I guess if it where dry....most aren't. Usually come wet or melted with something on it.
Probably bc the wet ones aren't original chimichangas. It's hard to find authentic anything these days

I lived in Tucson for 5 years. Been to both El Charro Cafe and never saw anyone pick up a chimichanga with their hands. 🤦🏼♀️

OMG, I was salivating all the way through this video! When I visited my Tucson cousins in 2010, they took me to the El Charro where I tried one of their amazing Chimichanga's. I still remember that meal and I would love to go back there for another one (or several).

I think one of the purposes of this trip for Mark and his family is to get good vaccines from America. which cannot be found in Thailand at this time / It is a smart journey for the Wiens family.
