    I've been making this style for a long time and, speaking from experience, if you leave that front square open, customers will accidentally pull it open (like she mentions @9:13 ) and lose the pendant. This happens just with taking them on and off. So I started wrapping the top of the square around the earwire part to close it. Also it's important to always work harden your wire before AND as you go along. Otherwise it'll still be too soft and warp over time as customers take them on and off.

      I totally agree with you! Plus the fact that hair may get tangled and pull the earrings open. Other than that the design is beautiful.

    Another great video Susan!! Kind of unrelated question but I really liked your bracelets in this one, but the hardest thing for me is figuring out what beads and stones to pair together and how to design a stack, I just dont know where to begin 🤷‍♀️

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Stacks are so unique to each person that it's hard to give specific advice for how to pair beads and stones because a lot of it is based simply on personal taste. One way to look at it is to think about your stack like an outfit. Do the colors complement or distract from one another? If I were you, I would start out with your main bead or stone and add from there. Good luck!

    Hi Susan!!
    I have a quick question about soldering jump rings on chain. Do you think it’s necessary to always solder jump rings that we use to connect charms and lobster clasps on a chain. I find it a bit overwhelming to do soldering. Do you think I can skip it? BTW, I’ve a small Etsy shop where I sell my handmade jewelry!
    I would greatly appreciate your reply, Thanks!

      I forgot to mention, my chains are gold filled!

    • @JewelSchool
      @JewelSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@tharmikasiva5168 Lots of people choose to use open connectors and not solder them. If the metal is soft and pliable, I would recommend soldering so it doesn't come apart, but stiff, strong, jump rings should be just fine - it's totally up to you!

    • @tharmikasiva5168
      @tharmikasiva5168 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JewelSchool Thank you so much!! I really appreciate your reply, I choose to use sturdy open jump ring and will not solder. Thank you so much again :)
