This style is very popular right now and can be found in many jewelry catalogs at a high price. This method of ring making dates to ancient Egypt. If you have any scarab beads use one to make an authentic looking ring.
Suggestion: I didn’t have a rap-n-tap and was struggling to make my wire round at the size I wanted. Instead I made the initial wrap around the mandrel a few sizes SMALLER than my size and then slid it up to my size to fit. Worked great. Love this! Just made it for the first time, with 4 Picasso rondelles and gold wire. Very pretty.
I had to watch this again. The first time I was too busy focusing on the leather ring and wire wrapped bracelet you're wearing!🤭 I love your tutorials, Thank you!!!
before i read your post i made a comment about that ring. a guy that works w/leather just gave me a big bag of nice-sized scaps that I'm trying to figure out what to do with. cant wait for the tutorial
Yes Lisa and Olivia! You can follow the Galentine's Day bracelet tutorial OR the Guitar String Bangle tutorial. Here are the links! Galentine's Day Bracelet: th-cam.com/video/EXT9sZSX-rM/w-d-xo.html Guitar String Bangle: th-cam.com/video/DdjVwpPO2Ys/w-d-xo.html
Nice tutorial that can be applied to earrings, pendants and bracelets as well! The only thing is trimming on the underside can lead to scratching the client and loosening of the wire over time, I find it's best practice to trim on top and tuck into the existing work. Still hides the ends and is much more secure. Thanks again for sharing!
LOL... I was thinking the cover photo was of one ring... thinking it was unusual & super cute! Loved the video and your ring ...and than'x for that unintended idea! BRAVO!
I had all the tools and ended up making a fancy cut labradorite one that looks sooooooo good! Thank you for this tutorial! I sent it to my clients and I now have 3 orders for it!!! All thanks to this video and it is so easy to make and sooooo many opportunities for creativity
I have noticed this ring on your finger during several of your shows and always admired it. I am so pleased we have your instruction on it. I am going to try to make one with your great instructions, I so enjoy your programs. You are so good at what you do and make it look easy. You are the best!
I literally watched one of your other videos a few days ago and noticed that ring and didn’t see a tutorial at the time so I attempted to come up with it myself. I was close, but this definitely helped fine tune it. Thanks for posting, it’s a great ring!
Thank you so much for this video! I probably watched it over 15 times to make my girls each a set of rings. Took a bit of practice, but I did it! They loved them and didn’t know they were handmade at first. Thank you so much!! ♥️
I have a good amount of seed beads so I think I will be trying this ring with some red white and blue seed beads :) The only thing is, I don't have a ring mandrel, I don't have 2 different size wires and I only have 2 different pliers. I think I can make it work tho using a glue stick and some floral wire... Loved this video!!
Ms. Susan, I love all of your tutorials because you are an excellent teacher! I religiously watch you on JS and am always learning a lot. Thank you mucho for all your lessons!!! (love the music references too!)
It’s the Galentine’s bracelet from about two years ago. If you read through the comments, you’ll see they’ve already given the link to it to the first person that asked for it 😊
So glad I found your channel! I always wanted to try rings. Thank you for keeping it so simple and I LOVE that you go through the supplies again at the end.
Hermosas todas tus creaciones, me encantas tus tutoriales. Pero me gustaría que acercaras un poco más la cámara. Gracias por compartir tus grandes talentos de bisuteria y joyería. Dios te bendiga 🌹💝🙏
Hello! Here are some links you can follow to make them! Galentine's Day Bracelet: th-cam.com/video/EXT9sZSX-rM/w-d-xo.html Guitar String Bangle: th-cam.com/video/DdjVwpPO2Ys/w-d-xo.html
Love this! I have a question about the wire because as a beginner I thought all 16 ga wire was equal. Nope. Some is hard and some is easily bending. Which frustrates me. What is your 16 ga wire you’re using? Thanks!!
I love this style I was looking for a style other than the wire wrapped with the thin wire and this intrigues me! Def going to try and make this because I love crystals and wire wrapping it’s like knitting lol 😂
I am still looking for the leather wrap ring you were wearing 3 weeks ago, can't find tutorial, it was coming out soon...LOL.thank you for sharing your talent
I use all style of beads/stones and sizes and shapes. All you have to do is change the gage of the wire to fit the stone you want to use. The bigger the stone, the bigger the gage.
We sure do! Here are a couple of different versions: Galentine's Day Bracelet: th-cam.com/video/EXT9sZSX-rM/w-d-xo.html Gutiar String Bracelet: th-cam.com/video/DdjVwpPO2Ys/w-d-xo.html
If it's a coated wire and they are really tiny leftover pieces, there isn't really much you can do with them. If it's sterling silver or gold, then you can melt them down and make little beads to solder on to other jewelry or you can save them up and turn them in somewhere that will pay you for them.
If I use sterling wire, would you recommend dead soft? Not sure if that will hold the shape as well. I’ve made with brass and copper and love them! Thank you!!
Just discovered JTV today and my daughter is ordering things from you for my Christmas gift! I really appreciate your tutorials as they are very easy to follow. You don't skip anything!!! I do have a question - you said you always wrap up over the cut end of the wire. Does that mean you wrap over the loop? I didn't see that in the video. (Bad eyes!) Thanks again!
Hi Melissa! So glad your are enjoying the videos! When Susan says to wrap the wire over the cut end of the wire, she is referring to the piece that is cut and looped inward. Because that cut is so hard to file, the wrapped wire is a great way to hide it.
Hi Susan, I love this pretty ring!! I am going to try to make this ring with amethyst as this is my birthstone. I am wondering if I need to make this ring with sterling silver or if I can use a plated wire??

three years have gone by and it’s still such a fine, simple ring! 🤩💖

I made a couple! They turned out! Thanks so much!☮️☮️☮️
Good day, just discovered your channel, love your jewelry making. I am interested in buying your rings, they are beautiful 👍
I use all style of beads/stones and sizes and shapes. All you have to do is change the gage of the wire to fit the stone you want to use. The bigger the stone, the bigger the gage.
Esto es increíble,,, que bellezas de anillos,, lucen hermosos y finos

If it's sterling silver or gold, then you can melt them down and make little beads to solder on to other jewelry or you can save them up and turn them in somewhere that will pay you for them.

Even if you use sterling silver wire, the gauges would still need to be the same. Hope this helps!!
Such good timing, I have been admiring your rings and wanted to make one and you delivered. Thank you
Super cute and simple! Thanks!

Clean, simple ring. I would use Welo Opal rondelles.
