I used to run dirt oval carts, topping out around 100 mph at the end of the straights. Which is 160km. They were smaller, single gear, and didn't look anything like this. A nose cone was the only aero one had. I can remember the bottom of my seat hitting the ground when you got it loaded in the corner. The sensation of speed is a lot different at that height. I almost got killed on that damn thing too. 25 years ago.

Good to learn that you survived that 'crazy.' Driving at 130mph on an F1 circuit doesn’t look so difficult, but karting on dirt seems to me to be a likely killer at any speed above 60mph. I drove midgets way back in the 1960s, was never seriously injured, but pumped so much adenine through my body that it took years to get back to normal. 😊

Lord have mercy 195 KMH which is what 121 some MPH through Eu Rouge in a Superkart must be amazing to feel. Always the best tracks are in Europe .
Something I find so interesting about this video, we are able to see a specific style in the driver. The technique is visible...in the f1 of today that technique and style covered up by technology. Elkmann really is fantastic.

I think it would be way more fun to see the whole F1 grit race in these karts then the current F1 cars. Driven once on Spa... well twice more or less (when I was 14 when it still was part of the road and I was on my road bicycle training).

250cc International superkart is the purest form of racing . No suspension feel every ripple on the track . 260kmh 2 inches of the ground it feels like 400kmh . Ive tried it felt frightening but so alive . Every muscle in my body ached for days but what a rush 😅

After i tried a 125 racing kart (videos on my channel) i changed my mind: this shit is scary even with a 125... a superkart is 10 times worse. If i had the opportunity i don’t know if i would drive one of these or i would pass🤔

Ken Clark it’s strange. Oversteering at 100 km/h may be kinda normal... but correcting the line oversteering 5 times in 2 seconds flat out having in the back of your mind “if i fuck it up i’m going into the fences” is 10 times more scary. More scary=more adrenaline. It’s awesome.

Nice driving, to bad you don't have someone to race with? The other guys are so slow they are dangerous. I raced karts as a young man, and in the US. Superkarts were just getting started. I raced 200cc komets full lay down enduro karts and raced at the Long Beach GP in 1983 and pitted with the F1 teams.. I would have loved to have driven one of these at SPA. Good luck to you.

I had a cart back in the 1960's no gearbox, straight drive, I got it to about 150 kph, mercury chainsaw motor 200cc, none of that fancy stuff like this cart. The motorbike cop could not catch me

Environ 10 000 €, moteur et châssis... Il existe plusieurs fabricants. Toutefois, cette discipline ne s'aborde pas comme du karting loisirs (nous précisons car certaines personnes ont demandé s'il était possible de louer un Superkart). Il s'agit réellement d'une monoplace, dernière étape avant la F3.

10.000 € ???!!! Vous plaisantez sûrement !
10.000€ c'est le prix d'un KZ2 125 ... un Formule E 250 c'est autour de 30 à 32.000€ (voyez les devis PVP) + préparation et maintenance.
Soyez un peu plus sérieux SVP et arrêtez de désinformer les gens.
Concernant le pilotage et la comparaison avec la F3, à mon avis un superkart est plus délicat à maîtriser car la liaison au sol est beaucoup plus précaire à conserver une fois atteinte la plage de t° des gommes.
JCKARTING tut tut tut...tu dis des bêtises :) effectivement on peut acquérir un superkart ( d'occasion) pour 10 000 euros et il faut compter un peu moins de 20 000 euros pour un superkart neuf.
Donc nous sommes bien loin des 30 000 (presque à la moitié ) ;). Seulement, il faut effectivement penser à tout ce qui va autour et il faut compter bien plus que 30 000 mais cela rentre dans le budget "entretien + essais/course" et pas dans le budget d'achat ;)

Salut j’ai pu rouler sur un circuit de kart avec un 250 à vitesse, c’est chaud pour un novice j’ai préféré en auto le 250 et le 400,
Les premier tours tu mouilles la culotte, quand tu retournes sur un 80 ou même 110 ce sont jouets

nice a whole bunch of us long circuit racers in the late 70,s early 80,s would have loved to use this track , awesome , am surprised you could do 10 laps , we could not carry that much fuel, also you were getting tired on the lap 8/9/10, but impressive, but did i see right you were at spa in march ????, must have been freezing

this karts lap time is better than a radical sr3 which is an $81000 purpose-built track monster. even the radical sr8 does a 2min 16sec around spa and this kart is only 4sec behind

Very impressive. What was the lap time in qualifying ? F3 with 230hp are doing 2 min 11 sec. I saw 2m 26sec in the video.

These are wickedly fast at 140 mph. C open enduro/ lay down karts powered by dual 8 cubic inch (263 cc total) alcohol
fueled engines using axel clutches are regularly topping 160 mph at Daytona. Karts can be serious race machines.
The laptime is unreal with only 230 top speed in such a big track

I saw 2+ G once or twice on this video. I used to race this class and we could hit nearly 3G braking, but it's for such a short time, it hardly shows. The cornering G's last longer and probably show up better. 100-0 mph in 2.1 seconds, I've seen quoted. Certainly you can brake as fast as you can change down.
This is Mario Kart on speed on a 4+ mile/7+ km stretch of track.
