Avatara Hotel on Koh Samet

  • A little review for you of the hotel I've been staying at on Koh Samet island, very nice for this island definitely one of the higher end hotels. The location is superb it seems to be bang in the centre and taxis stop right outside the hotel. So, if you're going to Pattaya for a couple of weeks I highly recommend you spend at least two nights here it only takes one and half hour or three hours from Bangkok. Book this hotel or any other through Agoda or Booking.com before you arrive otherwise you'll get charged the full listing price.

    I've never seen so many people there. I normally hit it during the off season. Never stayed at that hotel, but hang out a "Jep's beach" right there under the trees. It's a great location on the island. Not so busy and full of tourists like the other spots on the island. A great getaway for a few days...Love Koh Samed!

    love Samed my fav place, just a little info for you, from Pattaya to Samed i went with Malibu travel cost 400 baht, but DO NOT BOOK THE FERRY WITH THEM, just book the mini bus, when you get to Rayong you will get dropped off at (Malibu travel office) when they drop you off, just walk 100 yards to your left as you look at Malibu travel, and thats were the boats go from, the cost of the boat is 50 baht, and takes you NA DAN PIER, EVER HOUR.

      I know all this mate I’ve done it myself. I do it this way now because I’m on holiday and usually taking newbies on holiday too, so when money is not really a problem for them they want to do it the quickest and most comfortable.
      I lived in Thailand 15 years ago and had to do a visa run every 3 months. It was always a break away from the madness but I had to do it on a strict budget.
      But I agree, and when I live there I’ll be doing it the way you mentioned.👍

      Hiya Clint. The beach I stayed on was Sai Kaew which is the main centre. Don’t just turn up if you want a decent room go through Agoda or Booking.com it’s much cheaper. You can turn up and get cheap hostel type rooms but they’re usually full of bugs lol. I’ll be uploading a video of the nightlife tomorrow I just need edit it. All the best Clint.👍

      The sand is silky and apparently the whitest colour of any other Thai beach.

    OMG so expensive. The best place to stay is at the back of 7/11 near beach. We pay 900 baht per night 200m to beach and food all over the place but the best thing is 7/11 24 hours with booze

      You won’t be disappointed.👍 Two ways of getting there, firstly there’s the regular boat costs about 300 Baht and then it’ll be another 200 baht to the hotel. The boat takes 40 mins. I personally get the speedboat it costs 600 baht each way per person takes 10 mins and drops and picks you up on the beach by your hotel. I use PN Travel for speedboat but make sure they don’t make you have the private boat it’s 5000 Baht not worth it!

    Hi Nick, i saw in your other video's that you stayed in The Base in Pattaya. I want to rent an apartment for one month there but i have some question's. Will i be allowed to bring girls back there without any fee? And what would be the best website to look at one month stay there. Thanks and keep up the good work

    • @NDTViThailand
      @NDTViThailand  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Yukio, sorry for late reply. The Base is a condominium it’ll be your apartment so you can take whoever you like back, it’s not a problem. It does have good tight security so ladies maybe asked for ID which is good.
      I just did a quick google search and at the top was www.booking.com/searchresults.en-gb.html?city=-3242432 but there are also others so shop around for the best deal. When are you thinking about coming? It is a great location and the building is well maintained. Hope this helps.👍
