I'm in the very early stages of planning a trip here in Feb. 2025, and came across this video. Fantastic! How nice it is to not have the host referring to viewers as, "Hey, guys...", "Check this out, guys...", "Okay, guys..." with every other sentence. Also no requests to like or subscribe, very minimal jump cuts, and no dramatics. No annoying royalty-free TH-cam music, no voiceovers, no recitation of facts from Wikipedia. Just a couple of guys having a genuine good time and who happen to be documenting everything, rather than specifically "creating content". Lots of great info, zero annoyances. And the content is very informative! There needs to be more TH-camrs like this.
Our first visit was 34 years ago and they only had electric for part of the day! all the beach bars used fairy lights run off car batteries at night! We have been many times since but never like the first time. thanks from australia Pronounced S-Eye-Kow by the way
Thanks for the video!!! That brought back old memories. I guess 18 yrs ago the streets were not paved and everything wasn t that commercialized. I will be back someday.
Why are quoting prices in USD instead of the Thai Baht which is the currency that is used in Thailand . The USD has lost a significant proportion of its value to the Thai Baht in the last year so it is difficult to know how much things are when you quote in USD
@on.theworld Most people who visit Thailand are not American and don't use the USD which fluctuates in value versus the baht. You would get a lot more viewers if you quoted prices in Thai baht. English is widely spoken outside the USA, your videos are informative
@@on.theworld & that's what makes Thailand phenomenal. I NEVER use the word "cheap" when referring to Thailand because it implies inferior, which it, most certainly is not. Inexpensive!!! Quality is always there: food, accomodations & much more. The pricing leaves something for everyone. I'm retired & don't have expensive appetites. I think if I were a billionaire that wouldn't change much. The simple things in life r the best things. 👍🇹🇭🥢🏝️🍻🌌🐬🦀
I visited it 12 and 14…years ego. I will like to go again. But I will not be scammed by paying 200 bath to get to it. The hotels become very expensive. No value to visit it. Bad luck koh Samed. Not for me. I go to Phuket.
tell them nothing!!!!! stop telling folks about this place!!!! its terrible. too much sand too much sun too much food too much niceness too much!!!! and I going there in May so if its crowded I blaming you!!! lol :):)
Full location links in description! 🇹🇭 Very detailed video, skip ahead to the chapter that interests you most.

Hello. On the world Ben
Hey 👋
Be careful about the moskitos. I got really, really, really sick from moskito bites. There are some really dangerous species.
Thanks
200 baht per person to enter island? Is that normal on Islands? 5 days. So every 5 days you have to pay another 200?
No but normal for national parks in Thailand. The whole island is a national park. They never checked it, so I doubt you need a new one every 5 days.
120 baht v 2,800. Not a tough decision.
Definitely the most cost effective option, and fun!

In thailand you don't eat with a fork. You use your spoon.
Why are You bluffing? You obviously don't have a clue about Thailand, especially Your "favourite " island Koh Samet
What’s your favorite?
