    Very helpful. Thank you! The part about the curve resolution affecting accuracy was really key. Thanks again!

    Thanks so much for this! I was trying to have stone steps follow a curve I draw along a landscape... This works great, and was exactly what I was looking for!

    Thank you for the tutorial. I was able to use your tutorial to have some railway cars to orientate in the right direction on a track. but what I would like to do is have the cars move along the track and follow the same orientation set out by the rotate Euler node. I can get the result with the follow path constraint but I would like to get the result with geometry nodes. Thank you

    awesome! I'm stuck at spawning and making a collection of cars follow the road dynamically....

    looking awesome. would those railroad tracks also work with catenary/stepped curves?

    • @mirohorvath
      @mirohorvath  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks ... I think they should work, but depends really on how the final result should look like...

      I'm interested too, I added catenary separate on the both side, but I'm not able to put them in quincunx.

    What's in the rails function to align the rails so nicely together and deform them with the curve?

    blender File: The RailwayTrack in the Explorer, what object is that? I can't see it, it seems to be invisible. It's showing in the explorer as a mesh, but it isn't. The RailwayTrack has the Geometry Node assigned. But what is that thing?

    Bro I have an issue where I am trying to align instances (stretched sphere primitive) on stepped poly curves, my issue is that when my sphere instances reach the corners of these poly curves their orientation doesn’t follow the curve

    I'm trying to use a set of 10 or so different sleeper objects, what sort of node would I need to use to just pick 1 of the sleepers in order from a collection to use instead of using a single sleeper?

    • @mirohorvath
      @mirohorvath  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Make sure you checked "Separate children" on Collection Info node, and on Instance on Points node check "Pick Instance"

      You're welcome, there indeed is a way to move them.

    • @Kavukamari
      @Kavukamari ปีที่แล้ว

      you can use a Sample Curve node to get the transforms of a point which would be a percentage of the way along the curve, and then instance an object there using a "points" node

    This tutorial is great, but for some reason I am not able to scale to offset by scaling along the normal as in the streetlights example. My nodes are pretty much exactly the same and everything works in the tutorial up until the point when I try to scale on the normal to get the offset, the instances just stay on the center of the curve, not moving at all. Any ideas what may be wrong?

    • @mirohorvath
      @mirohorvath  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Matt, did you recreated nodes setup manually or you're using the examples file from Gumroad? Also what Blender version are you using?

    how can i make random roll around the curve using "Random Value"

  • @Mietchannel
    @Mietchannel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you make another tutorial could you start from the beginning instead of jumping in somewhere in the middle? A good example would be blender guru.

    • @mirohorvath
      @mirohorvath  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you mean by "jumping in somewhere in the middle"... Important parts/nodes are explained enough to understand the problematics of instancing on a curve. Take some newbies course first, please. :)
