    I scoffed at the idea of an Apple Watch for years. To be honest, I felt I didn't need another screen calling for my attention all the time. I decided to get the SE2 a couple months ago. Didn't realize what I was missing. The idea that it actually REDUCES screen time on other devices is 100% true. Many tasks can be accomplished without being sucked into an addictive, time wasting phone session. I also knew the health features would help me focus more on that part of my life. The tech I have mostly tells me what I need to do on a daily basis, and closing the health rings has become a passion of mine. I feel years being added to my life instead of being taken away with terrible health habits. The tip about raising to talk to Siri without pressing any buttons was one I wasn't aware of. That's awesome! Great video and thanks for the info.

    This video is really helpful by showing real benefits of the watch in our daily life. So many reviewers who just neard around digging into every possibility that doesn’t make your life easier. I want real daily use tips like this video offers. I will get the watch because of the battery life, I’m no athlete although I do exercise to keep myself in okey condition. Best wishes from Finland!

    If you hold down the “phone locator”, it will not only sound an alert on your phone, but will also make your flash on the phone blink with the alarm. You don’t have to change any settings, just hold it down instead of just clicking it!

    This video further confirms it to me that I don’t need a smartwatch. I’ve tried it in the past, it was very distracting, now I’m perfectly fine with regular watches. I’m glad the tech is there and it helps others, but I don’t want another screen and another device I forget to charge.

    Hi Ben! I finally switched over to have my iPhone 12 be my main driver, and that made me look at the Apple Watch Ultra to replace my Samsung Galaxy watch (which I loved with my Samsung Ultra phone). I found your video and all the tips helped me decide on switching over along with choosing the Ultra. My wife has used Apple watch for years and I knew of its benefits, but this video you made was not only informative, but provided the practical examples that helped make switching over easier! Great video, and I'm combing through your other content as a subscriber now. Keep up the good work! :)

      @@BenVallack New to me too, motion detection/gesture recognition. Small cam that should be able to identify which finger is doing what. ESP32 cam module could be a start. One option - with the cam placed correctly, it should recognize movement and act as a track pad without lifting all your fingers from the home row. Like a trackball but in the air (airball?). (slider, swipe etc. many options of actions)

    I love it for the fitness stuff, it’s great to be running and see what cardio zone you are in, and measuring other health stuff. Using it to find my phone is great, it also tells me if I left something behind (like my keys with an AirTag or my iPad). I’m really happy I got it.
    I would recommend it to anyone who can comfortably afford it. The longer you have it the more useful it becomes as you discover it’s features and get used to using them

    An underrated feature is “unlock with apple watch” if you have a Mac. If you do a lot of work where it requires you to use your laptop in a way that keeps it idle constantly, having your watch on automatically unlocks the laptop vs having to bring your finger up to touchID or type your password in every time.

    Thanks your video really shows how game changing these devices are. So much more than a time piece and an accessory to the iPhone.

    Can I ask what app you use for reminders please? 3:44 in the video… looks like a good app… thanks

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s the ‘Actions’ app, part of Moleskine Studio (Flow, Actions, Timepage) - absolutely lovely apps. Funnily enough I didn’t really get the difference between ‘events’ and ‘reminders’ until I used their implementation!

    Less warped stabiliization is better sometimes.

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That stabilisation was all in-body from the Fuji. It does struggle in the corners with this wide lens. Basically I still need to hold the camera pretty steady so it doesn’t have to work too hard.

    Simply amazing video. Thanks. I am buying mine in January. Can't wait! P.S. And the walkie-talkie is so funny.

    Excellent review but this is the first time I see the buttons on that side, I didn’t think it was a thing

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah you can set it how you like - it seems a bit less likely to set the buttons off when doing things like press ups this way around!

    i wanted to hear about the battery. you say you can wear ur during the day but also night. when do you charge?

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t tend to think about it. Just chuck it on a charger when it gets low. Doesn’t seem to happen very often!

    Ive never seen anyone who was such a slave to technology. You would think watching this video you can’t live without it. How did humanity ever make it this far without an Apple Watch? 😂

    Ben did an amazing job of convincing me that iwatch doesn't add much utility if ya got a phone!

    • @BenVallack
      @BenVallack  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha yeah that’s true! It doesn’t add anything, it just makes the presentation a bit less intrusive.

      @@BenVallack I wanted to use it for scuba since a good watch either way costs around 500-1000 euros, but you got to pay 70 bucks a year for scuba app. on top 1000 euros for the watch, doesn't sound appealing

    What band is that? The green alpine loop? Looks gray on my screen

      Yep - is quite desaturated in real life actually but does definitely look green.
