I always loved the scene of Morticia cutting the roses off thier stems. Everyone loves roses, but think of the thorns and stems as a nuisance. She looked past the flower, and admired everything else.
Not to mention, that's literally the least essential part of the plant. Reproduction is a luxury function, so to spreak

In the original tv series Morticia does it since Gomez is allergic to roses, since before he met Morticia he was a very sickly man. Constantly using a machine to help breath (I think he had bronchitis) and always cold wearing many layers of clothing.
After meeting and instantly falling in love with Morticia (both were love at first sight for each other) his health got all better and never got sick again. Also Morticia hated the rose bulbs thinking they’re hideous as another reason she cuts them off.
Roses are awful and I'd be cutting the heads off of the stems too.

He did leave her though. I was the ‘quiet girl’ in dark colors and she was the loud annoying girl covered in bright colors and entitlement. He ended up despising her. He even looks like Gomez but younger and with green eyes. He even has the same mustache lolol. He once said “you were so intriguing and beautiful - I wanted to sit next to you instantly and get to know who you were.”

Fun fact. In the original precursor comic strip that would eventually become The Adams Family, Gomez and Morticia’s very open displays of affection were intended to be viewed as off putting and creepy. This makes sense when you remember those comics are from the 40’s
I mean, even today we’d feel uncomfortable seeing couples all over each other in public. While it’s nice they are in love, it gets pretty awkward so they should ‘get a room’.
