thank you soooo much!!! i just did the replacement on our 2005 CRV in just over 5 minutes, thanks to your video. i had visions of pulling off the door handle and then the interior panel, peeling off the water liner, yadayadayada, but no - quick and easy, no ick, not greasy, no broken panel tabs or finger nails. awesome!!! oh yes, i have that same weird driver’s window thing going on, so that’s a security issue the switch manufacturer needs to address.
Thank you for the video. I have been dealing with a window that worked at times and not at others. I gave up on it and just went without putting it down for 6 months and then the other day it just started going down while I was driving. I knew I couldn't trust it even though it worked great for 2 days, but then it was stuck down. I watched your video and decided to see what I could do. I didn't need to replace the switch because I was having trouble getting the connections apart. I turned to old faithful WD40 and sprayed the switch and whalllla it works like a champ. If it quits again I will replace the switch using your video.
Nice video man, i am having a issue with the passenger side not moving down just up from the master switch but opens fine on the passenger side, I would think you have to reprogram the switch to work normal , I have the honda manual and it mentions that
@@dannynica7480 it could be a broken plastic switch in the inside also. Someone mention that programming on here too but when I took the driver side out, I can hear a rattle something was loose and realize it was the tab for the switch to hit to bring the window the other way. Either way, it’s a cheap easy fix.
My car has the same problem but the connector was burnt out. I am looking for where to buy replacement for the connector. Please tell me the shop where you bought the switch.
You would have to kinda hot wire the pins on them to figure it out. In my case my switches work intermittently so I knew the motor on the window still work and it had to do with the switch.
no, this is just for the window switch. You're probably referring to that black rubber piece on the side of the inside door jam that pushes in when you close the door to let your car know that the door is close. but that chime should only come on also if your keys are inside the ignition.
I've had this problem with my 2005 Honda CR-V. Replaced the switch and the driver's side front window has power to it all of the time. Checked the window relay in the fuse box and it showed 15mA draw all the time and the switch is lit up all the time. I've been having problems with my battery going dead if I leave my auto for awhile. I don't know if it is a badly wired "new" switch but it probably is--UNLESS all Honda CR-V's have power to the driver's side front window all of the time???
I just know the original didn’t come wired like that with power on all the time. But yes, with the aftermarket one I got it has power provided to it on even though I don’t have the keys in. But mine doesn’t drain my battery, I had times when the car sat for days without being turn on and it still turn on just fine. But yeah, I’m just thinking it’s the aftermarket switch itself
@@projectsbyj25 I think I have the answer for you --- did you get this from Switch Doctor which is a seller on Amazon about $15 or so? Please let me know and I will reply with further details or I will call you. Thank you for all the great videos.
@@KTPDAILY Can you please tell me if you have a fix for the constant power to switch? Scared I’m going to burn out motor like someone said they did in Amazon review of Swithdoctor. Thank you.
@@TMcLean863 I apologize but I don't know the exact answer to your important question. The guys at switch doctor are not only nice but also very intelligent. If you give them a call even if you haven't purchased a product yet they will definitely speak with you and give you a good advice.
I am so grateful for this tutorial. I was about to pay a mechanic to do this. This is something I can definitely handle! Thx so much!!!
youre definitely welcome. Im glad my videos can help you out.
Thanks for the vid ✔️
Lived with the same driver rear issue as you for wayyyyy too long 😂

youre welcome. as long as you take care of these cars, they pretty much are as reliable as can be.

@@rmok4258 I just bought it from Amazon
Try locking it while inside and see if it still has power to it
Oh yeah I did. Got inside and close the doors and there was still power going to the driver side window
How can you tell if it’s a bad switch vs the motor for the window that’s broken

THANKS! WOULD THIS BE THE DOOR SWITCH THAT CONTROLS THE "LIGHTS ON" CHIMER?

@mameymama - do you need further help locating and / or replacing this switch for chimer?

Wish the 3rd Gen CRV (2007-2011) is as easy as this, but I don't think I can just pop it out.. Anyone knows? Thanks!
Careful with non-OEM, they fail within 12 months
