    I have a Buckmark 5.5 and I LOVE it! Sooo much fun to shoot. If the Zombie Apocalypse happens, and they are the slow-moving zombies, I'm taking the Buckmark! If it's the quick zombies we're all screwed and I'm taking the Mossberg and an ammo can of 00 buckshot. I need to watch your other Buckmark series. I need to go shooting!

      A buckmark with some bulk packs of ammo would be a real winner for the slow zombies!

    I a couple of years ago picked up a Buckmark Silhouette pistol that needed a little TLC. It was missing a couple of screws and the buffer needed replacement. About a year later I was able to get from Midway USA a Bullseye barrel for a GOOD PRICE. I liked the idea to be able to change the barrel length easily (9 7/8"-7 1/4"). I wanted the 7.25" barrel for out in the woods hunting squirrels and rabbits, the shorter barrel is handier and easier to maneuver in the woods while having a rifle for the primary weapon for longer shots and us the Buckmark for close shots (be more sporting). I'll have to do a comparison SHOOT OUT between my Buckmark, Ruger Government Target Model and my Beretta 76W to see how they compare. I recently turned 70 so I was figuring on scaling down my amount of TOYS. Of course I wish to KEEP the best shooters. 🤔😯😁👍

      Thanks for watching Charles! The Silhouette model is a classic! Don't think they've been in production for some time. I agree that a shorter barrel is ideal for hunting critters, especially if you already have a rifle with you.
      I know it can be hard to cull the herd. I've tried to get rid of a few myself that I don't use. But it's always hard to let one go.
      Would love to see a video comparison of those pistols! Always curious to see what kind of ammo any particular 22 likes. It's almost as if they all have their own personality.
      Have fun shooting and Happy New Year!

    I have the Browning Buckmark Hunter and it loves Federal HV ammo, CCI Mini Mag and I will be trying some of the Aguila Super Extra this week. One question. After you clean your gun, do you run a swab of oil down the barrel? I do it to prevent copper plating build up, which maintains accuracy.

    • @texmexshoots
      @texmexshoots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey there Mike! Although I do oil many points on the pistol after cleaning, I usually don't put any in the chamber or barrel. Back in the day they always advised against doing so to avoid over pressure. Not sure that is really an issue, but I became accustomed to keeping the barrel free of oil unless I was storing the firearm for a long period. However I doubt it would be an issue with a 22lr. Maybe I should give it a try.

    I've got the Micro Target 4 1/2'' barrel with an RMR that is surprizingly accurate. With CCI Standard Velocity it will group under an inch at 25 yards. I've made a great deal of upgrades from Tandemkross including the trigger, mag release, firing pin, mag bumpers and they all enhance an already nice pistol. However, the guns sear engagement is pretty long. There's just too much sear engagment causing a long travel prior to break. The only way to fix that would be to modify the sear and hammer and I dont want to do that.

    • @texmexshoots
      @texmexshoots  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like an amazing pistol Frank! I was surprised at the CCI SV results from this test. But you know how 22's are. On a different day the grouping could have been different. I haven't put any real customizations on any of my Buckmarks other than sights. I had no idea about the length of the sear engagement. Thanks for sharing!

      @@texmexshoots Yes Sir, you'll see some of my videos where I'm shooting through the millet in the dove field. That millet was cut in August so that tells you how long it takes to get some of these videos put together and posted. I've been trying to put up a video every four to five days. I have a browning buckmark with a dot on it, I have it zeroed at 100 yards and it will hit a 12” gong easily 8 out of 10 shots, last weekend I tried the 200 yard gong for the first time and out of 20 shots I hit it about 6 or 7 times, unbelievably accurate.

    Hi, Tex Mex! NIce video.
    What kind of pistol holder do you have? Was it included in standard kit, or bought additionally?
    And, what is that square hole gadget near to Browning Pro22 pack, at tge right from it a little bit. (In a video at 0:06)?
    I guess, that is small assistant for magazine loading, or I am quite wrong?

    • @texmexshoots
      @texmexshoots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello! The holster was purchased separately from the pistol. It is a browning made holster with a pouch on the front for an extra magazine. I can't remember which website I bought it from, but they are out there. They may come in different lengths and this one was perfect for the hunter model.
      As for the gadget, it is a loading tool. Bought that one from Midway USA. It is called the: Maglula X10- and V10- 22 Long Rifle Pistol Magazine Loader
      Hope that helps!

      @@texmexshoots One more question. Where do you aim at shooting? In center or under red circle, or somewhere else?
      I tried to shoot with Buckmark Plus UDX, same Pro-Target white outline adjustable rear sight, TRUGLO/Marble Arms fiber-optic front sight, and Picatinny top rail for optics.
      And found that sighting on target Nr4 (sporting shooting, 25yrds) under black circle is ratger difficult, as fiber-optics front sight becoms very light as well and on white target paper makes sighting hard.
      Read somewhere, that with fiber optic sight could be more useful "combat sighting" - just in centre of target bullseye.
      How do you did it?

    • @texmexshoots
      @texmexshoots  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually have my sights set to where the point of impact is touching the top of the front sight. You are correct in that the fiber optic sight can sometimes get so bright making it difficult to see your point of impact clearly. But I am still accustomed to sighting in my pistol that way so I can see my impacts as I am target shooting.
      That being said, on some of my self-defense pistols, I do use combat sighting system where the point of impact is the center of the front sight circle. @@janir2213

    The aquila super extra is not the absolute best in my Buckmark, but it is my all around favorite, never a misfire and accurate .. unlike federal automatch .

      Thanks for watching Allen!
      I think there may have been bad batches of automatch out there. Some of my boxes are reliable and consistent while other's have more duds. Aguila tends to do well out of most of my 22's. Once I figure out which one specifically they like.
