Actually a little horse is a couple of things... Pony, Miniature Horse, foal..etc
😁Very True!
Never seen a 22 long ?
@@LarryClark-m2i I may have seen some back in the day. But not sure it’s produced much anymore. Seems like short and long rifle cornered the market
Terrific video, much appreciated!! Buying a holster for a new gun is already difficult and you removed a lot of the guess work. I was wondering what you thought about the Shorty holster not covering the magazine release on the P365? Thanks again!
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your kind words. I've been carrying my P365 in the Shorty now for about a year and have not had any issues with the magazine release. So although I understand your concern, it hasn't been an issue for me. My spare tire has yet to release the magazine while carrying. The holster does protrude out a little around the release. So although I can't say it would be impossible for something to activate the button, it seems to me to be very unlikely. Hope that helps!
@@texmexshoots Thanks so much! I like this holster! Don't worry about that spare tire, middle age = age around the middle!
What the Tek aah? Should get the 19" or 20" Green Mountain ⛰️ barrel for the LVT. They have the same dimensions like Ruger & tapered.
Thanks for watching! I'll look into the Green Mountain barrels. I've heard that they produce a similar tapered barrel like the LVT.
@texmexshoots get the 19", they have both stainless & blued.
Saw that brick of the federal 500 had to click😊 Brings back old good memories... I bet you i no joke ran 10s of thousands of those thru a ruger mrk 2,rossi pump 22lr and a old single shot bolt action on my great grandparents farm over 7 or 8 summers.😊😊😊 My great granpa would take me and my cousin to wal mart and buy us a 1000 each,2 bricks! Great times! Man i miss the 90s!! Thanks for the test. Cant beat a day with a 22😊
Thanks for watching! I had replied earlier but youtube sometime erases stuff for some unknown reason. Those bulk packs were the best you could get back then. They worked well even out of semi-autos. I'm happy I was able to bring back some great childhood memories. Take care and stay safe!
Thanks for the video. I am researching a bolt action, threaded barrel .22LR for accurate squirrel hunting. The Tikka T1x is one of the contenders, along with the Bergara BMR and the Browning T-bolt. Definitely looks like this could be the one (I already have a T3x in .350 legend) but they’re a little hard to locate sometimes.
I think any of those rifles would make a great squirrel hunter. Although I would give the nod to the Tikka based on how well I was able to adjust the stock trigger and on how accurate it was right out of the box. I agree that they can be a little tricky to find. Good luck and I hope you find one at a good deal!
Excellent video. Sub'd. Thanks! Looking at getting a 9.5". Love 22wmr
Thanks for watching! I had replied earlier but apparently some youtube glitch took it down. The single six is a great and versatile revolver. The sight radius on the 9.5" version should make it an accurate shooter. Hope you are able to find one at a deal!
i bought that exact same sig p365 in 2020 all i can say is that its a excellent conceal carry handgun i love it
Thanks for watching! It is a great little pistol and I appreciate how the two tone looks. Like you said, it is an excellent conceal carry handgun. Take care and stay safe!
Very nice! Bought one in LH a bit ago. Silly accurate is how I’ve described it… makes me look like a fair shooter! Subsonic cci do pretty fair for plinking at 50 yds, the match grade stuff is almost a waste… shooting five times and only getting one hole…
Thanks for watching! The T1x really is an amazing rifle. I did a follow up video testing some different loads and it seemed to like the Eley Match too. Take care and stay safe!
Iknow why your so inconsistent your steady bag is worn out
Thanks for watching! It is an old bag. Many have recommended I use a bag for the buttstock too.
Have you ever had the issue of the hammer not cocking fully as the bolt goes back? I recently ran into this and I can’t figure it out. If I push down on the bolt ever so slightly when it’s all the way out you hear the hammer go click and it cocks. The issue started after I cleaned and oiled everything. Any tips would be appreciated!
Interesting. I haven't had the particular issue happen. I would check and make sure the hammer rebound strut is engaged correctly. You will need to pull off the stock to check it.
@@texmexshootsthanks for the reply. The strut seems to be engaging correctly. There’s a tiny bit of vertical slop in the breech bolt, so it’s not pushing down on the hammer hard enough when it goes back. I’m thinking maybe pre-cleaning there was more friction when the bolt made contact with the hammer. I’m waiting on a reduced power spring which may remedy the problem. I’ve read some people weld a bit more material to the top of the hammer, but I’m not sure if I want to go that route.
@@houseoflibra Sounds like you are on the right path. Hopefully the new spring will fix the issue. If not, although it is hard to find parts for the 39a due to them being out of production for some time now, you might be able to find a spare bolt and see if that helps.
You are not holding it correctly. That's why it hurts when you fire the four fifty four. Bend elbows, rt hand relaxed grip, left hand Firm grip, use your arms and rt hand for recoil control.
Thanks for the advice! I will try that next time. I don't have much experience with big bore revolvers. At least not much with anything over a 44 mag.
@texmexshoots I used to shoot a amateur long range. 300 yards. Put over 10 k rounds found holding it this way lessons the pain.
@ I very much appreciate your insight. I can only imagine how hard it to hit targets out to 300 yards with a pistol.
New sub here. I just bought the Tikka. Great video and thanks for the information.
Thanks for subscribing! The T1x is am amazing rifle. You won't be disappointed.
Have you looked at the Bodyguard 2.0 since posting this well-done video? My favorite carry is pocket carry. In April it will be 15 years since using my P3AT in a SD situation. It saved me from getting stabbed but after the incident I looked for a pocket nine and happily settled on a Kahr PM9 - though I tried. my Glock 26 just didn't cut it as a pocket gun. I've recently started thinking about maybe getting the LCP MAX or the Bodyguard 2.0 for summer carry. PS. I of course kept my P3AT but fire and carry it only occasionally.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your harrowing experience with us. The PM9 is a great pistol and is the gold standard for 9mm pocket carry. Sadly I have not had the chance to test the Bodyguard 2.0 yet. It seems to be almost the same size as the Max, with the slide being just a bit longer. It's on my short list of handguns to buy, so when I get one I promise to do a comparison.
@@texmexshoots Thanks, will be looking forward to your comparison of the two pocket .380s
Great video thanks
Glad you liked it and thanks for watching!
You need better rest for these types of tests.
Yeah, that would probably help 😁 Do you have any recommendation?

Nicely done! Thanks for the video.
@@forddavis9306 Thanks! I really love this rifle. I had wanted a 22 hornet for years and am glad I settled on this one. The set trigger is dangerously light, but makes for some accurate shooting.
You can always put a scout scope on the Rossi and Winchester
@@bucmasterson372 yes sir, that is certainly true. This particular model Marlin is just a little easier since it ejects to the side. Thank you for watching, take care and stay safe!
nice shooting, i have that same rifle. i mounted a Skinner express peep sight on it, always had trouble with buckhorn sights
@@russmichael1165 thanks for watching! Those Skinner sights are great. Put one on my model 39a and it really tightened up my groups.
Great video...thought bout gettin a 336 clone rossi r95 in 357...but leaning more now towards this rifle..its only about 180 dollars more..cuz the 336 marlins are way too expensive IF you can find one...even the rossi clones are high bit a lil over half the marlin 336...any way the 1894 marlin seems like it mite be the ticket...im with you on optics i cant see either im 58.
@@steverugerguy9606 yeah, getting old is no fun when it comes to eyesight. Like you I’m in my 50s and didn’t have to wear glasses until I hit my 40s. It’s like our warranty expires.😅. I think all the rifles you are considering are good firearms. However, I only have one Rossi and although I love mine and I have had no issues with it, many people online complain about quality control. I only have a sample of one when it comes to this new production marlin as well but the fit and finish is really nice and They seem to be getting positive reviews from many people out there.
Awesome purchase. I love my 1895 in 45-70 with its smooth action and easy loading. Thanks for sharing and the first shots too. So I'm not sure I fully understand Bruce and Kevin's comment about leaning to the left and falling off the carrier when loading unless they are referring to cycling the action. When loading the magazine with the loading gate, leaning the rifle to left should have no effect in my opinion. However, if they are referring to where (cycling the action) working the lever causes the round to come out of the magazine tube and onto the carrier, I can see that leaning it to the left can have this effect of the round falling off the carrier and not wanting to load into the chamber as smoothly as intended. What I've found is that when shooting from a bag on a bench with a lever action, the rifle is too low to be able to get a full open stroke with the lever as it wants to bottom out on the table top thus I tend to lean the rifle to the left giving the lever more room to work. But, at the same time it creates the issue of the round not fully resting on the carrier creating a slight lag in the feeding. Anyway, great purchase and on my 45-75 I put a 2-8 power scope on it for hunting purposes. Oh, last note: the CZ 75 video comes out this evening. Take a look at it and let me know if you feel this may be a main spring issues. Also, my friend asked me to ask you if you can recommend a place where he can get a replacement spring. Thanks.
Thanks Cervus! I think you are correct in that when shooting from a bag, I wasn't fully cycling the action which caused some of the feeding issues. Once I worked the lever freely, it seemed to be fine. I'll keep an eye out for the CZ 75 video! I'm heading out but will occasionally check youtube. As for the spring, I don't know any sites off hand. It is something I would have to research. The CZ 75 is such a classic pistol that I expect there should be a few websites out there selling factory and after market parts. If it has seen a lot of rounds, the recoil spring might be a bit worn out potentially causing feeding issues.
All videos that I saw showing Colt Trooper firing tests shows this drift to the left. Is it a characteristic of this model? Could be the shooters more conditioned to S&W? My late Firearms Instructor, when a trainee drifted his group to one side, joked: "Half-target for rent!" 😂😂😂
Lol! He could just turn his target upside down and use the other side! Shots drifting to the left could be due to many different reasons. Likely it is an issue with how someone is pulling the trigger or squeezing their grip while firing. I'll have to do some more tests with this one to see if it is me or the revolver. However it is likely just me.
I’m curious, where did your buddy get the leather butt pouch for his Henry?
Thanks for watching Tom! I'll reach out to him and see if he remembers.
My buddy hasn't responded so I did a little research myself. I think this is the one he bought: wildwilddill.com/product/buttstock-cartridge-sleeve-with-adjustable-anti-slide-loop-gunstock-cuff-with-cartridge-holders-hunters-holder-with-suede-cheek-pad-147/
My friend finally responded and I did get it right. That is the website he purchased it from.
Don't lean the rifle to the left when loading the round will fall off the carrier .
Thanks for the advice Bruce! I need all I can get. So I should keep it upright and load in from the side?
@@texmexshoots Agree with Bruce and yes load with it tilted to your convenience and expect some issues with the 38s versus smoother cycling with the 357. This is based on non-marlin lever gun but similar action. A deliberate and full forward to the stop and smooth but quick return to battery position on the lever will help with cycling.
@ Thanks for the advice Kevin! I really do appreciate it.
This is not new. Marlin was acquired by Ruger and they have been slowly bringing back each model into production one by one.
I am grateful to Ruger for starting to produce some of the classic Marlin rifles.
I'm with you. I need optics with my old eyes. 😆 Great video!
Thanks Jojo! I'll try to get out with in the next month or so and see how it groups some different ammo once I get the scope mounted.
Don't let anybody tell you what to do with your firearm. It's yours. You can do whatever you want, it's irritating when somebody says "you" should do this or you should do that You are not me

they should made a vision with a keychain , like the xythos 😬😁
I had to look up what the xythos was. That's a neat tiny revolver!
Dude you need to learn to shoot. Seriously. I can tell you learned to shoot on striker fired stuff. If you criticize the apx a1 trigger you need to get a revolver and actually learn how to pull the trigger
I appreciate the criticism. To be fair, the trigger has improved immensely over the last 200 rounds. This was a straight out of the box review and it seems the trigger needed some time to smoothen out.
Under $100, low-profile, good features. From a company you have reviewed favorably in the past. Looking forward to the shooting evaluation! This could be a winner.
Thanks Frank! Wish it had a top or side loading battery, but other than that it looks good. Lets see how it holds up on the Beretta APX A1.
@texmexshoots Did you see my comment about red v. green? Put up a couple multicolored targets and try the dots on different colors. A local gun shop would install colored inserts for front sights. You could point their samples at various targets mounted by the ceiling. Pink was their preferred color for inserts. Not orange, not red. But bright PINK! It stood out the best.
@@frankhinkle5772 Makes sense! The pink should stand out better against different colored backgrounds. I need to go finds some bright pink nail polish to touch up the front sights on some of my pistols 😁
@@texmexshoots I use a BRIGHT GREEN Testers paint on my AR front sight. It's what I had. You, on the other hand, are a girl Dad. I don't expect your pink nail polish will go to waste.
@@frankhinkle5772 Yup! 😄 Plus I am always amazed at how durable the nail polish is. As long as I make sure the sight is nice and clean, with no oil or grease residue, the polish stays on even during cleaning with solvents. However I do make sure to put two to three coats of polish and let it fully dry between applications.
I inherited one recently but on the lowest setting it shoots 4” high at 25 yards. Looks like a higher post replacement is in my future!
Nice family heirloom! I would look around and see if you can find a taller post. Skinner sights sells some front posts of different heights, but I honestly don't know if the dovetail dimensions are the same. Or like I did on one of my single action 22 pistols, I put a bead of silver solder on the top of the front post. Gave me the extra height I needed.
the buffer shattered on mine causing the strut bridge to bend. both parts are available from midway or other after market co..
Thanks for watching! Yes, it is fortunate that after market buffers and other parts exist. Allowing owners to keep these rifles running. In fact many of the newer parts are a bit more durable than the originals. Such as the newer buffer replacements.
Mexicans taking our jobs and making Superior 22 ammunition 😂
I have the same rifle. Mine likes the Hornady 30gr V-Max best. Every rimfire is different, though. Great video!
Thanks for watching. Yeah I hear you, rimfires are a finicky bunch!
Something very strange about a single six i bought used. Its a new model 1975 with a fluted cylinder that is chambered in 22mag. No markings on the cylinder stating 22mag. I never seen a single six in just 22 mag only. But this one.
Interesting. On both counts, the cylinder being fluted and lacking a 22 mag stamp. Could be various reasons I suppose. Maybe it was a special run, or limited edition. Or it is an after market one he bought. Someone could have even purchased a 22lr one and had it bored out for 22 magnum.
Blazers look like the stars here, but I ordered some, and they look like they've been to P Diddy's house. All greased up.
I don't know if P Diddy has some pull at youtube since it erased my last response 🤣 Just make sure to clean out your chamber once you have fired off a good amount of this ammo.
I'm not sure if I reviewed this specific red dot of theirs, but I can certainly say that every one of their pistol dots is 100% good to go so far in my experience. I've reviewed 5 or 6 of them to date. Good review brother, have a good one!

I agree. Top and side loaders make un-mounting unnecessary. Thanks for watching!
Nice unboxing. Do you have any opinions between red and green dots? Awesome video!
I'm not tex, but I am a gun tuber, so that must make me some sort o' eggsburt, right? LOL To me red dots are better in forest/woods/jungle. Green dots are better in arctic/snow. In all other environments I don't think one is any better than the other. YMMV.
Thanks for chiming in Valorius! I expect you have more experience than me using optics in different conditions so I very much appreciate your insight. I agree with your assessment as well. A proper brightness setting is also important. Thanks for watching Jojo!
@@texmexshoots Yep. Also: auto brightness is terrible. Never rely on that with any current generation red dot. They all stink.
@@Valorius What about urban environments? Maybe put a red dot up against some targets with many colors on them to test red v. green.
@@frankhinkle5772 I think that it would end up being a wash, with green being slightly better vs some backgrounds/colors, and red being better vs others. I use red exclusively nowadays.
