    Thank you sir! After reading countless post on MZB sites, watching several videos I stumbled on your post and though I found out about this fuse box and method to get power to open the trunk, it wasn't until I did what you suggested by adding a wrench to the end that got me the power. Thanks for saving me $$$...be blessed brotha!

    This is a great little trick, but I am so confused as to why you would need to do this process, just to get to the trunk. Why wouldn't you use the metal key. It's a manual metal key that is released from the fob and used in the trunk's key hole next to the handle above the license plate. But still, why not release the front hood and access the 2nd little battery under the air box, instead of taking apart the passenger panels?

      ....bc THAT valet key system, though MANUAL in nature, is connected to the electrical system sooooo if the battery is dead IT also wont work. Dumbest shit ever. Ever go to the DMV bc you lost your ID...and they ask you for ID?

      Sorry if my comment sounded disrespectful, my apologies. Helping other people It's a thing that people normally forget. However, for future situations like that, in cars like MB or BMW that have the battery in the trunk or under the rear seat, use the jumper terminals located under the hood (you can see them on the video) to avoid an electrical damage that can cost you a lot of money.

      I have the same car. All you had to do is release the actual key from the from the remote and use it to open the trunk. There is a key slot to the left of the trunk handle over the license plate.

    wow, amazing video....it would've been easier if you took all four wheels off before you did all this:). Just kidding of course. Watch your video again, and on 4:13 freeze the picture. What do you see above your New York plate? A trunk lock!! Now use your key fob that is designed with removable valet metal key, insert the metal part into the trunk lock and gently turn to the right. Voila!!

    • @tahiraalli75
      @tahiraalli75 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is one of the only models your key will work on the trunk even if the battery is completely dead. You turn the key to 90 degrees to the left and then pull the release. Could have saved myself a lot of stress if I knew that first. Most other Mercedes have a separate jump spot under the hood of the car.

I never worked on a Mercedes before in my life so I was just trying to help roadside assistance say they would be there in 2 hours and they did not have a clue how to get into the vehicle themself all I did was help her get into the vehicle sorry next time I'll know better.

    What kind of morons would design a car like this I thought these guys were smart? Can't you just get some power into the under the hood battery link say with a trickle charger and open the trunk with the button rather than taking all this stuff out to get to the link under the passenger seat?
