I’ve cleaned my sons cap like this and I used a cleanser called Awesome that I got at the $ store and I’ve cleaned my granddaughter’s shoes the same way and both came out looking brand new !
It’s fine. But you’ll need to stuff it with a towel or something after to keep the shape. They don’t recommend it because it will become wrinkly, lose shape etc but if you know what to do after you’ll be fine.

I’d be careful to use this on wool obviously or delicate blends. Also, I wouldn’t use products with an emphasis for pets. I've been cleaning my Son hats in the washing machine for years in the washing machine. They come out just as new. Just put them on your or his head and shape them put paper in them air dry the rest of the way.

It would work but a washing machine also works wonders. If there are stains use a pre stain treatment and should be fine. 🤗
