Suit up for classic comedy! Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis) and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson) take a chance on going freelance, de-haunting houses in a new ghost removal service. As soon as they open their doors, their first order of business becomes saving beautiful cellist Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) and nerdy Louis Tully (Rick Moranis), who’ve inadvertently opened the gates of hell… right in their own apartment building!

I Agreed that Ghostbusters is an Awesome Movie from 1984 by Columbia Pictures Directed by the Late Ivan Rietman starring Bill Murray, Dan Akyrod, and the Late Harold Ramis.

The way Egon looks down at his marks when he steps forward and back kills me every time. Harold low key steals the show throughout this commercial.
The forced smile at the end gets me every time. Poor Egon is a fish out of water.
This commercial is perfect for showcasing each characters personality
Ray is the excited and enthusiastic one ready to explain what they're capable of doing
Egon explains what they do and what ghosts they deal with but he says it in a monotone voice and without much body language because of how little he socializes with others
And Peter just straight up doesn't wanna be there and wants it to be over with 😂
I love that Egon looks down as he steps back, so he lines up with Ray and Peter perfectly.
he is looking at his marking on the ground which is a sign of amateur acting, it's brilliant comedy by a brilliant comedian.

@@twsartadventures3660 I like how they intentionally made it awkward and amatuer-ish. As you mentioned, Egon looking down to make sure he's standing in the right spot. The way he's standing very stiff. Venkman is standing there as it anticipating his cue and (possibly) staring at a teleprompter When they say "Ghostbusters" they are all kind of out-of-sync . Ray delivering his lines very quickly as if trying to fit within a shortened time. Then at the end the few seconds of uncomfortable silence as if they are thinking, "Are we still recording?"
Maybe he was ducking his head because of the long microphone stick that people use in movies

Phone numbers that start with "555" aren't real, you can't call them. They're used in movies for exactly this reason, it's a fictional area code. Once you know that you'll see them everywhere. Also, it's the same number from the original film (555-2368). In GB2 it changed to JL5-2020 (555-2020). It would have been a nice Easter egg if Ghostbusters Afterlife had been released on July 5th, 2020 (JL5-2020) but it wasn't to be 😂

Egon looking for his marks fills my soul with life.
That is one of the many things that gets me about this. He is so wooden and it is a masterstroke as you get a vision of the director telling him what to do, him being awkward, there is a whole story in that shot. Ray being so much more enthusiastic and sincere than the others is brilliant too.
It's what gets me every time. And by the time I'm done laughing at that, his eye is twitching from trying to smile, and I lose it again. haha Dan's huckster voice is great, too. Harkens back to some of his SNL bits.

How do people miss that?!
@@satoshikatsumoto9007 Direct witnesses probably believed it. People who only heard about it probably thought it was all trumped up hysteria.
I genuinely think this commercial is beloved because it was accurate tp how commercials were done on cable local access channels. Cheap. Poorly acted. And with some kind of cheesy slogan. People still know about these because they're still around if you look hard enough. Not to mention, it adds a bit of extra grounding to the world. Plus, "We're Ready To Believe You!" is awesome.
I used to make small town commercials for local cable TV. It was a tough job trying to make them look good. I attribute my hair loss to it. Putting up with pushy, demanding salespeople and managers while trying to be creative without breaking a client's budget. The job paid well with good benefits, but it nearly caused a nervous breakdown and other health issues.

Dan Akroyd had lots of experience doing fake commercials on Saturday Night Live. There is a bit of a "Bass-O-Matic" vibe to his delivery. :)
That's actually really funny because there was a band called Bassomatic back in 1990 (they had an album called "Set the Controls to the Heart of the Bass", which I currently have in my music files!) It was a side project band by one William Orbit, who would go on to be a major in-demand producer in the music world.
I love the little easter eggs. Like egon looking for where he's supposed to stand, and them talkng all monotone, like they've never done this before.
This movie is a goddamn masterpiece okay?

It's from trying to smile. Part of Egon's whole character is that deadpan stonefaced demeanor, so he doesn't really smile, and when he tries, it comes across uncomfortable looking. Totally fits. I hated that Egon smiled in GB2.
That eye twitch at the end though. LOL!
They did with such confidence like they actually knew what they were dealing with and didn’t hold back from people thinking that they were crazy
When this ad was played on TH-cam in ghostbusters afterlife, I saw the name of the TH-cam channel that “posted” it was rad retro tv ads, so I looked it up and found that the channel didn’t exist, but this video popped up instead!
I like that Egon tries to smile and just can't. I take it his character does not smile that much. But the actor does.
I genuinely love this movie more than any other movie this is honestly one of my favourite movies ever it's a work of art

I've been coming out of seeing Ghosbuster Afterlife and who would say that in 1984 they would already make a spoiler for a 2021 movie hahahaha. What a beautiful movie with a big heart.

Harold ramis was the funniest ghostbuster of them all. He was the most unique and nerdiest. I personally lives how he is so geeky and has no shame of it

Advertising genius! I remember this when I was in high school. It was the summer comedy to end all summer comedies.
I discovered this movie when I just started high school in 2008. And yet I wish I was born sooner so I could see what you mean.
If you think that was great I also got to experience SNL’s original cast. I was 8 in 1975. My family used to gather around with popcorn every Saturday night.

Well the new movie was SUPPOSED to come out this summer BUUUT 2020 had to get drunk behind the dumpster so it’s delayed. So that IS the real question.
Sony made this channel cause they couldn't put all of their Ghostbusters stuff on their channel so they made this channel, same thing Warner bros did cause they made an official Harry Potter channel called "Wizarding world"

Can't deny it, these guys are the REAL deal. I came home from work and found a God**** Mummy creating a sandstorm in my living room. So I called Ghostbusters and they took an hour to arrive. They wrecked my neighbors yard chasing down the Mummy and fried their cat with those lazer things..... (Haha) The chubby one made me laugh saying "Just scored another job...." The damage was a bit much and the fee could be a little more reasonable... but they got the job done.
