    For the person in chat who thinks they’re too old to learn bass, you’re not. Everyone should learn something in music, it changes the way your mind works. I attempted to learn bass about 13 yrs ago, it lasted a couple months and faded off. But after finding this music community a year ago on TH-cam I was motivated (hell I just realized I turned 42 today LOL) to learn it and music as a whole. It’s difficult being tone deaf and having no rhythm but no less fun! And start cheap, I still have my first Ibanez $200 bass sounds great to start. I’ve since upgraded to a Warwick and I’m eyeing up a Music Man after I see what Tank comes up with. 😉. Bottom line, yes pick it up, great fun even by keeping it simple!🤘

    One of the things I enjoy about the bass videos is how open you are about saying “I want you guys to see the mistakes and the progress and such” it’s nice to see how open you are about the learning process. Love this band and love the bass videos! I’m gonna go pick my bass back up now haha

    On Christmas I decided to finally pick the guitar back up after failing to get into it 10 years ago. Past couple years I was holding off thinking I'd rather dive into bass instead, but I have really small hands and can barely operate on the bass fretboard. Maybe when I'm more used to guitar I can try picking it up again, but I'm having so much fun playing rhythm riffs right now I'm not sure I even want to pick up a bass right now!

    Hey man, been a hot minute since I last watched or commented. Glad to see you're still awesome! Just wanted to pop in because I rediscovered a band that I love today, and I don't know if you've reacted to them before. They're called Crossfaith, and they're based out of Osaka. I'd recommend giving the song Wildfire a listen, because it absolutely slaps. Anyway, take her easy man!

    Roadie? Cool. You should react to iron maiden flight 666 documentary part. It's about touring and the plane that they used to transport band members and roadies in the same plane all around the world and Bruce Dickinson is also the pilot. It was a double DVD one for the concert and the other one was the documentary.

  • @theblazinken3501
    @theblazinken3501 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Does it really make that much difference whether you play guitar or bass? Don't they differ just in sound and amount/thickness of strings?

    • @fabianpleiner1662
      @fabianpleiner1662 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It makes a huge difference from both, the playing technique and the feeling. Bass and guitar have very different jobs in the song so you need to do different things with the instruments in order to make the song work. Apart from that, the difference in size (strings and frets) is a huge point when it comes to handling the instrument.

    • @TankTheTech
      @TankTheTech  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yeah, what Fabian said. There's a huge difference in not only tone and sound, but also what each instrument's role within a band is. Also, just for technique and feel alone, a bass and guitar have vastly different scale lengths, neck widths, and neck radiuses as well. You're more likely to be good at bass if you're already a guitarist, but it's a little harder the other way around.
