They won a grammy for Best Metal Performance for their song Elite, its very much in your face heavy. Around the Fur and White Pony are must listen albums for metal heads!
Adrenaline is better than Around the Fur and arguably better than White Pony. It's their most aggressive album though so I could see why it'd turn a lot of people off.
This was released in 97, so they were before those bands you mentioned. If you want heavy I’d recommend “Bloody Cape”, “When Girls Telephone Boys” and “Hexagram” probably they’re heaviest songs
Just got into them last year and it's been so fun diving into their discography! For heavier songs, check out My Own Summer (my favorite), Royal, Street Carp, Lotion, MX, Korea, Needles and Pins, and Bloody Cape. Have fun on your Deftones journey :)
Yeah. U know ur stuff. Coming from a 20+ yr fan. Let Chino's scream @ the end of Royal forever loop when I leave this earth lol. With Xerces and we good.
@@LILBABYBOBBYHILL Ay it's cool being noticed by an OG fan! You guys experienced what I wish I could've. But I share your sentiment about Chino's scream in Royal lol. I honestly believe that's his best scream 😭
It was out late '90 the song and I think video too. Remember when MTV showed videos anyone? The ending of the song was him screaming but trust me we saw them live and he screamed live.
They came out nearly around the same time as Korn so they had a similar ticks for their sound, but after they're 2nd album they broke away from the Nu-Metal sound that dominated the mid 90's.
This song makes me feel on top of the world. This song is exactly how I’ve been feeling since a kid. “This town don’t feel mine” holy fuck that hits so close. Like I can’t decide if I wanna smash up shit or cry listening to this song. My body doenst know what it wants. Pure goosebumps.
My own summer Around the fur, root, bored, engine no9,hexagram back to school. Too many to name start at the begining of their catalog and listen through its awesome. I was a junior in HS when this was going on. Deftones are one of a kind and Chino as crazy as his vocals can get he can hit notes most professional singers can't.
"Elite" is pretty brutal, big energy. It won the Best Metal Performance Grammy in 2001 against Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Pantera, and Marilyn Manson surprisingly
@@drizel462 I'm very surprised, as an American how could he only know about Deftones now, Deftones is a big band that has been around for a long time and they won a Grammy award. doesn't make sense
well... real deftones fans know that this is the "made for MTV" cut of the song...so he prob didn't know that. It's like theatrical cut v. Directors cut...
Damn lol how can he doesn't know Deftones as an American,. Even I, from a faraway country, have known deftones since I was 18 in 1998. BTW i'm Indonesian
You just lost me at “nu metal”… the weren’t nu metal ever, they only called them that way because the had one of their booms on that time… their lyrics aren’t anything numetal. They are more close to shoegaze, new wave, and alt metal… they have even said that they have never been nu metal.
Digital bath! Now! ❤❤
Let's go!
Yeah!!!!!
hexagram by the tones is a must. it legit day n night from this song
Deftones are Deftones it’s there own genre ,there own style ❤
My own summer is a Deftones song you should listen to.
Song came out in ‘97. Still holds up today
Digital bath!!
I second this
I'm 98% straight, with 2% reserved for Chino or Ryan Reynolds if they ever show up at my house.

You should check out their entire debut album, Adrenaline (1995); it's raw and gritty from start to finish.
I've seen these guys every single time they've came to Atlanta since 2001. They never disappoint.
Listen to Deftones ROYAL. It will melt your face.
The studio version is longer, the real outro is the best part 😢
💯 %
Not the best part but ok
If you want heavy Deftones I recommend, “Needles and Pins” “when girls telephone boys” “leathers”.
Also Rickets, loathing, teething, engine 9, head up, my own summer
Hexagram and bloody cape
That's more like it! I'll check them out
Genesis too
Needles and pins is a song to fuck to ijs
Deftones lovers could be a good review almost like hidden track in their discography
W song, welcome to the fam bro. Too many good songs to choose from
This was released in 97, so they were before those bands you mentioned. If you want heavy I’d recommend “Bloody Cape”, “When Girls Telephone Boys” and “Hexagram” probably they’re heaviest songs
I love this! I'll check it out
I think 7 Words, Headup, and Lotion are heavier.

If you're lookin for "in your face aggressive," Hexagram by them is amazing.
I’d list my recommendations but there’s too many. You’re in for quite the journey bro, I can’t wait.

I luv deftones!

And going against the grain worked for them
I love this song! 🖤
Def a banger
Back in school , Change , My own Summer or Minerva .
Masterpiece...no doubt
DEFTONES unlocked 🔓…😎
Ah ah ah excited
Change or digital bath
The Shoegaze vocals of Chino's

Kimdracula never gets enough love, its fantastic, tho i think everything they do is fantastic but you know what i mean 😂
My own summer, Paseengers, Digital Bath, Knife Party
"Elite" is pretty brutal, big energy. It won the Best Metal Performance Grammy in 2001 against Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Pantera, and Marilyn Manson surprisingly
C'mon dude, this came out well before TH-cam was even a thing. Haha
@@drizel462 I'm very surprised, as an American how could he only know about Deftones now, Deftones is a big band that has been around for a long time and they won a Grammy award. doesn't make sense
Try CMND CTRL by them
PLEASE don't compare Deftones to P.O.D. I beg you.
To be fair though, P.O.D is actually a really good band, even live. But, no one is the Deftones. The Deftones are legendary 😎🤘
Just relax bro, it's not that serious
POD hasnt even been heard yet. Although iove those guys, as people and thier music, Deftones are completely unique
this was 1997
Awesome d tones kill
You should react to Beauty School or Digital Bath from Deftones, those will blow your mind
Anything on the White Pony album.
Gotta check out Rickets if you want a heavy screamy song. Knife Party is also a must but its more shoegazey
Next you need to do Cherry Waves
1998 my guy!
Why is no one mentioning that this was like only half the song he listened to??????????
well... real deftones fans know that this is the "made for MTV" cut of the song...so he prob didn't know that. It's like theatrical cut v. Directors cut...
@@hanksalientech Well thats why I'm letting him know then 😂
@@brendanleuthner4851 yup
POD was mentioned too many times.
Ibanez Tubescreamer pedal is the effect on the guitar most likely. It was a (and is) a staple of any Nu Metal guitarist's kits.
Nope not even close. Steph used ZERO pedals. Only rack effects with step triggers.
Deftones were before those butt rock bands you mentioned wtf bro. It’s 14 years old because TH-cam is that old. 😂
This song came out in the 90s... 94/95? ...... POD and Non Point were influenced by Deftones.
As for Aggressive, look up Kim Dracula by Deftones.
This song is from 97. Come on bro. Google.
Do Passenger
Big metal guy. Early 30s? American? Never heard a deftones song. How?
Ha I thought that too.
Damn lol how can he doesn't know Deftones as an American,. Even I, from a faraway country, have known deftones since I was 18 in 1998. BTW i'm Indonesian
if you want in your face aggressive from them, try ‘Rickets’ off the same album.
If u want some agressiveness from them i think '7 words' would be ok👍
young Willam Dafoe?
Bored, Kimdracula, Knife Party, Passenger, Change
Dude, where the hell have you been along this time? DEFTONES are exist from the 90's and you have just heard it by now in 2024.WTF
You've seen the butcher
How can you not know who the deftones are ? Lol
random youtube reactor what do you expect. My man called it very POD
Damn he just comparing Deftones with POD... It's tottaly different dude, wtf !!
Get filthy in the mud w the dirtiest bare bones punk beat known to mankind and react to "Panty Lies" by Sonic Youth.
