Third stop on our German Road Trip: Koblenz! This city with a population of about 112k is a bit smaller, but we were actually pretty surprised by how much we liked it! Amazing atmosphere along the river Rhine, sun, castles, gondolas, great places to eat and nothing felt overpriced. :) I don't think Koblenz is very well known so it feels a bit as if we found a hiddem gem. What do you think? :)
For me living very close to koblenz it was entertaining to watch you discovering a city I am so used to but i would definetly agree that Koblenz is a bit underrated even if it is a small city
Your search is over !! You have just found the most beautiful city in Germany :-) With both of you (and especially with Deana) Koblenz would be even more beautiful.
I lived in Koblenz for pretty much my whole life. I actually moved into the Altstadt about a year ago. I just love this town. Not too big, so it still has it's quiet places, but big enough so you have everything you need. If you have any questions about the town, I'd be happy to answer them.
Hi Tim! I am considering moving there soon. What are some activities that you can do in the city? For example: Is there a nightlife? Any locations for trekking? Climbing? Water sports and winter sports available? How do you go about meeting young people? Is there an art scene (exhibitions, concerts, cinema, festivals etc)? I am just a tad bit worried about moving somewhere that small and don't know if it's a fit.
@@elifakil-unnebat5641 The only thing from your list, that's kinda meh is winter sports. Got an ice rink in a nearby town. That's pretty much it I think. I can give you a big yes on all the rest. It's the perfect size for me. Small enough that you actually know people, but big enough that you have everything you need. You can search for me on pretty much any social media and we can have a chat if you want
I was born in Koblenz and I like it a lot. It´s a beautyful city to live in, I recommand you to go with Koblenz. It´s not just nice in summer, where you can enjoy your cold beer or ice cream on the "Rhein-Wiesen", but during the winter season as well. Koblenz has a wonderfull Chrismas-Market. From the yard of the fortress "Festung Ehrenbreitstein" you have a incredible view over the whole city.
The Gondola in Koblenz is relatively new and really big ... Deana and Phil: "Did you notice the Gondola between the Zoo and Claudius Therme over the Rhine in Cologne?" In 1960 in one of these very small Gondolas my Father asked for my Mothers hand at sunset. Since it was the last Trip that Evening and there were no other Passengers on the Way, it was of course no Problem for Father to get the Gondola to a miraculously stop in the Middle of the Rhine for this Moment. ... Mother is said to have asked for reflection ... ;)
Best City in Germany? Nürnberg! A perfect mixture between city life and rural environment. Old medieval city center offering everything you wish to have considering shopping and culture plus a nice sorrounding landscape with villages with yummy franconian food. Not as busy or crazy like Berlin or Frankfurt, not as expensive like München. Just the perfect compromise if you want to have the advantages of a city but not the drawbacks.
Nürnberg has very nice corners, true. But I was shocked about the aggressive cyclists. I have never ever seen so aggressive bicycle ridres than in Nürnberg. As a pedestrian I felt unsafe as never before. Sorry, no bonus!
I lived in Cologne, Bonn and new Koblenz and I have to say "Koblenz is my favorite City". Just the right size for me. Not too big with long ways to get from a to b, but still almost everything is available. I met my wife in Koblenz - this city was good for me!
I'm a bit disappointed, that you left out Bonn on your Trip down the Rhine. Bonn is maybe smaller than Cologne or Düsseldorf but it is even more international than the both being the only location in Germany of the united nation housing nearly 180 different countries. It is also the Birthplace of Ludwig van Beethoven. We have also restaurants from all over the world. Have you eaten authentic Ethiopian or Tibetan cuisine?
Me too! Bonn is smaller than cologne and Düsseldorf and much more beautiful in my opinion. I've lived there for some years and I miss the people and the university and the food and... everything really. Everyday felt like being on a vacation to me.
I live in the area and i'm also surprised that they visited Koblenz but not Bonn. I think Bonn is much more beautiful than Koblenz, but you can reach some fairly picturesque towns (better) from Koblenz.
We lived in Bamberg back in the '90s and I miss it so much. It was such a lovely town and so much to do. But it's in Bavaria and I don't know if you want to live that far south.
My suggestion to settle in Germany is Hamburg. I think it is a great city to live, friendly to the inhabitants, with great public transport and a multitude of attractions for residents like: the Alster river, harbor, concert hall, district St. Pauli and good food. Undoubtedly, the plus is the proximity of the sea coast.
Stuttgart- I cannot recommend Stuttgart enough! It has a lot of history, culture and modern with the second biggest Oktoberfest in Germany. In fact, it has something-of-everything-for-everyone here. It’s very multi-cultural and has a relaxed feeling. Start your trip (if you decide to try it) at the New Palace outside Schlossplatz station. There are lots of rural areas and small quaint villages just outside the city. Oh, and Stuttgart has its own river too!
I am from Germany, have been to a lot of the cities myself. Moved from near Frankfurt to near Munich and its an absolute dream ...if you do like it a little less hectic but still want a city vibe. So I would vote for Munich, or if it can be smaller Kempten - great little place near the alps, great nature, great people
Hi, I'm Brazilian and I live in Koblenz! I have lived in Berlin and Düsseldorf and I have to say that Koblenz is my favorite! By the way there is a beautiful castle in Koblenz called Scloss Stolzenfels google it you will love it!!! ❤️ Sending love!
You guys are killing me. My grandmother was from Koblenz b.1900 and my father was born there. They moved to NYC when he was a year old. Grandfather was from Copenhagen and joined the American army and was in Koblenz for whatever reason. I guess love at first sight when he saw my grandmother. :) The Gondola ride up to the Palace has great views of the Rhine. The Gondola was originally built for a flower show and was supposed to be temporary. Turned out to be a success so they kept it. I wish we would have spent some time driving along Mosel river. The water looks so clean at the Deutsches Eck.
Koblenz is one of the nicest citys in germany. i was stationed there for 6 month and i always wanted to move there since then. The people, the food and tha nature is awsome there.
This is where I grew up. Absolutely gorgeous countryside around there. Beautiful medieval villages, vineyards and castles along the Rhine and Mosel valley. Koblenz is great, if you are into hiking, bicycling etc.
I was an exchange student in Germany for a year and I lived in three different parts of Germany but my absolute favorite area was the beautiful southern region of Deutschland area and my favorite city that I lived in for six months was Radolfzale which was right on a beautiful beach called Bodensea, this old town was the perfect size to be quaint but large enough to have nice amenities like fantastic bakeries and restaurants. The lake separated Switzerland and Germany! I really liked how friendly the people were and the serenity of the Minau Island (flower island) that was a public park now but had been a former king’s personal island home and castle that could only be accessible by ferry. I would spend a whole day walking around this secluded island with a crew of government landscapers and gardeners maintaining all the different flower gardens and varieties of roses and majestic landscaping. Downtown in the city was a Central Park which used to be the actual moat to a castle hundreds of years ago. Some of my spelling for these places is not correct but it has been thirty years since I lived there! It is on my bucket list to return for a vacation before I pass, probably after I retire, good lord willing. Then I lived in a Kline Dorf of Burcheid which was closer to Frankfurt or Kline or in english Cologne-which I never could understand why there are two different referenced names for the same city because if it is a German city then that should be its name in any language because it’s in Deutschland but I guess the irony is why in America do we call it Germany and not Deutschland? The last place I lived was near Hannover which was my least favorite place while living there because of the cold weather and flat scenery which were just not as pretty for me but I also got a terrible ear infection from the wind blowing all the time combined with 10 degree cold. This Bundesland was just not as appealing or beautiful a s the Bavarian part that I have such fond memories of as being one of the most beautiful and serene places in my mind and heart forever! ❤️
I was born in Koblenz and have lived there for my first 20 years. I now live in Cologne for already 9 years. I love both of the cities. If u are looking for a smaller city but still enjoy some big city activities go for Koblenz. If u love and enjoy bigger cities go for Cologne.
After your last stop in Köln I never thought you both would visit Koblenz, because it is a smaller city. But it is absolutly worth to visit! In my opinion it would be a place to live in. You have the "rheinische Mentalität" of the people, well located city with nice locations all around (Mosel valley, the mountain areas with the Westerwald/Eifel/Hunsrück...). By the way Diana, you can be lucky not jumping into the gondola with the glas-ground :-)). One of the gondolas has one! I am living only 40km away in the "mountains" in the Westerwald.
Parents left me their apartment, here in Koblenz, not too close, (flooding), and not too far away from the Rhein river and my husband and I love Koblemz. The reason is💔 heartbreaking, why we live here now, but am SO Very Thankful to the BOTH of them. rip...love❤ & miss you...😢
The river tour in Koblenz is amazing. The translator tells a different story in English than the one in German. They didn’t speak of the bombing of the Kaiser Wilhelm statue in WWII in the German version. My favorite restaurant is Alte Weinstube Zum Hubertus. It’s amazing. The lady made us a schnapps that was so good I could have drank 20 of them and gladly slept in the gutter. Koblenz is one of my favorite German cities!
I stayed in Koblenz with the hotel on the Rhein. It was 10 minute walk to train station to have short trips like to cologne. We just loved it. Beautiful view and very friendly people.
I moved from a very small town in mid germany (close to Göttingen and Kassel) to Koblenz (actually just ~150m from the hotel you were staying in) 2 years ago and I really like the city because it is very small and big at the same time due to the 2 rivers. The city center doesn't feel much bigger than my hometown but at the same time it's a big city with a large variety of stores. It's also great for hiking since both the Hunsrück and the Eifel areas are starting here and it's just an hour to both Köln and Frankfurt. I don't regret moving here at all and i'd certainly recommend Koblenz to everyone who doesn't like the rush of the big cities but still doesn't wan't to live in the middle of nowhere. Regarding the food options, Koblenz really sucks though. Every place is closing their kitchen at 20:30, service quality is really bad in many places and the food is ok but it's not great (we are often driving to Frankfurt just to have dinner). The Manti from Lezizel are special and you really need to like that spicy oily sour yoghurt sauce, I personally don't.
My vote would be for Nürnberg. I don't live in Germany but have vacationed there almost once a year for 40 years and I find the Bavarian city of Nuremberg to have the most to see and do of any other place in Deutschland. So much history, culture, architecture, beautiful countryside and epicurean delights. Also a nice centralized location for exploring the rest of Southern Germany. A bit less touristy than Munich, Berlin, Cologne and southern Bavaria.
Here is my recommendation. Find a nice supermarket or grocery store you really like in a town, and see how nice and close the apartments are next to it. I have just watched a couple videos of a couple who moved to Mexico. They liked the pretty town they chose, but they left, because, among other things, it was not convenient to go shopping from where they live. I also found that to be the case with me. A town may be very cute and all, but over time, (and this issue might not seem as glamorous), but convenience to good shopping is also key.
Wayyyy back in the 90's when I was stationed in Germany, we used to love going to Koblenz about 4 or 5 times a year. Mostly to go out to nightclubs but exploring during the day trying to find good hangover cures was great!
Palestinian version of manti (home cooked is the best) is incredible. I love how my grandma and mom makes it. We call it “cat ears”. It’s typically stuffed with meat and drowned in a thick, warm, rice yogurt based sauce - almost like a thick soup. This manti doesn’t look like the home cooked ones I’m used to. Wish you could try my mom. Honestly, one of my favorite dishes and that’s saying a lot since Italian is one of my favorite.
We lived in Andernach and Remagen, both on the Rhine river. Loved to visit Koblenz via B9 and especially their summer fireworks, Rhein in Flammen, are amazing. Our favorite little piece of heaven was Beilstein, on the Mosel river. Charming little town with an old castle. It is on the other shore from Cochem. Love watching your videos. So glad I found you!
I'd welcome you guys with a tour and some beer over here in Aachen. It's definitely not the best city in Germany haha but there are a lot of things to see and a lot of history to explore. We're also just half an hour away from either the dutch or the belgian border (groceries on sunday? not a problem if you go to belgium). There is no city or village in this area to call a perfect place to live but you have a thousand and one opportunities and small things all around here. 45 minutes away is the Eifel National Park with lots of trails for both trekking and biking, 45 minutes away is Maastricht if you want to enjoy dutch life a bit, 1 hour away is Liege if you want to enjoy belgian life a bit, Cologne is 1 hour away as well if you want to go to concerts, maximum 3 hours away are Charleroi, Eindhoven, Cologne, Dusseldorf and Dortmund airports for low cost or long haul flights wherever you want, 3 hours away by train is Paris directly from Aachen with a stop in either Bruxelles or Liege etc. You are my welcomed guests if you decide to visit, can't provide a place to sleep because my home is a bit of a mess since I changed apartments not too long ago but I can happily take you around the area for sightseeing (the drives are absolutely wonderful and the places equally so)
Andernach (close to Koblenz) is an even older city, 2000 years!. It's smaller but very nice. There is the highest cold-water geyser in the whole world!
From my visits to Germany, Koblenz was my favorite of the cities on your road trip. It was a great mix of modern and historic. There are so many interesting sites nearby. The biggest issue I would have is deciding which section of the city to live in. I am really enjoying your channel.
when you take the cable car from Garmish, up to the Zugspite, the cars bounce when they cross the towers, and you have to change the cars at the top, to get down inside the bowl for snow skiing
Koblenz is a nice place to live! I was born in Düsseldorf and still live in Düsseldorf, but visiting my friends in St. Goar, we always go for shopping to Koblenz, enjoying the nice Biergärten as well. Koblenz has a nice, living culture scene. Köln and Frankfurt not far away, exact like Belgium and Luxemburg. Around Koblenz you will find a wonderful scenery! Castles, vineyards and a lot more...
Great stop! This would be our pick to this point. It’s nice being in a smaller city, yet ones that’s large enough to have all the modern amenities and shops you’d ever want. I think Phil jumping in the gondola basket is a universal guy thing to do. I would have done the same 😝
Also nochmals vielen Dank.
If you ever have time you should visit Mainz and Wiesbaden. Mainz is very comfy yet it is the capital of Rheinland-Pfalz. There is also some architecture sights like the Dome and the Gutenberg Museum. Also between the two cities there is the Rhine and some pretty shore promenade of both sides.
These video series are so nice! You guys are quite charismatic and it is clear you enjoy your journey. I live in Germany and I appreciate the travel tips. Thanks for sharing!
My girlfriend’s school is about an hour north from Koblenz while my work as an American is an hour south. Koblenz is exactly in between. We’re in search of apartments and we plan to move to Koblenz this year. Wish us luck!
One thing you should consider: Due to its location close to Rhein AND Mosel that area is often hit by floodings. So should you decide to move there, be sure to pick an area which is far away from the usual flooding hot spots and be prepared for land under every few years or so.
Please visit Lübeck! It has everything you like. History, half-timbered houses, a lot of water, student vibes, vivid art scene, small town flair in a modern 200.000 population city and various food options. And it's surrounded by gorgeous nature
I live in Koblenz and it's quite a nice city to life in (depends which part but still beautiful). It's especially wonderful when you live near the Rhein
This time you were so close to me. I'm from Andernach. A small town close to Koblenz (round about 25 kilometers northern). Living in Koblenz has a huge advantage. You have such a great connection to public transport (train, bus and ship) and to many Autobahns in all directions. You are also able to reach many airports also the international one in Frankfurt very fast.
Since you're at the confluence of the Mosel and the Rhine you may as well head south halfway to Trier and stop in Zell/Mosel. More castles than you can shake a peasant at... wine time!
Loved seeing all the older architecture, the more peaceful city feel, the beautiful views, and the river. This would definitely be my pick so far :) And that ice cream sounds amazing!
Hi Phil :) This is much better than the Köln and Düsseldorf video. To be honest they were realy underwelming and you explained some things not quite right. Gernerally I recommend to visit smaller / middle cities since they are what makes Germany so lovley :) I's all about live quilty ;) Since you already visited the Rheinland highly recomend to check the "counter parts" Münsterland (Münster and the cities arround it) Further the Sauerland should be worth a trip. I guess Soest would be a good starting point. Next in line would be Celle. Very lovley city with a lot of cultural options to visit. For a larger trip further away from your location it would be Mannheim > Heidelberg > Karlsruhe > arround Stuttgart > Freiburg Or you take a trip to the sea f.e. Fehmann or Kiel are nice places. I will stop here because I could go on forever (came a lot arround for my job in the past) And you mistimed your trip to Koblenz. There is an event called "Rhein on Fire" which is basicly a great firework and along the Rhine. If you are on a boat and shipping down the Rhine it's an absoluty amazing view.
A hint for anybody who is maybe going to visit Koblenz. Take an one hour ride (with the car) to Mörsdorf there is a high rope bridge called "Hochseilbrücke Geierlay" in my opinion it's very amazing and beautiful there! :)
Hey...Go and Visite the City Minden...it is a little bit smaller than the cities you already been but ist's has a lot to See. The Kaiser Wilhelm Denkmal....Wasserstraßenkreuz where the Mittel Land Kanal goes over the River Weser. Also you can visit the next City Bückeburg . Here you have the Schloss Bückeburg you can go to see und the beautifull old City.
You can get frozen Manti in Turkish supermarkets. It's the easiest thing to make. Just add Yoghurt and chili oil and whatever toppings you like and enjoy.
0:59 you passed my house‘s door 😯 I should have known that you were in Koblenz, we could have had a coffee on my roof top balcony ✌️🙂✌️ Koblenz is amazing, I live here since more than 10 years and I finally decided to buy my own appartment. The city has everything to offer than a big city does, but it feels very comfortable like a village. Also the surroundings are superiour, you can do boating, water skiing, bike riding in the awesome valleys and curvy hill roads. Charming wine regions with the highest density of castles in the whole world. Everything reachable within minutes. The area here belongs to UNESCO world heritage. Living were other people go for vacation! Also the Nightlife is fantastic. So stop looking for a different city to live in ;)
You should have checked out Bonn. Nicest city in the area around Cologne. Kind of half way back down the Rhein towards Cologne. Weather will be milder in winter.
Awesome vid! I have a lot of good memories of our holidays as a kid, we spent in koblenz / Trier in the 80ies and early 90ies. My dad had a picture of ehrenstein Castle by night on his desk. I took my wife to Trier and idar oberstein in 2013. But i haven't been in koblenz since the 90ies, man i wanna go back. Thanks for the walk down memory lane! Edit: i Just realised my dad had a picture of Cochem not Koblenz...
If you like Koblenz, you need to visit Cochem. It's a small romantic City down the Rhine at the Moselle River and got beautiful Places like the Reichsburg, Burg Eltz, the steepest vinyard in Europe (Bremmer Calmont), much Wine- and Half-timbered house Culture. A lot of films were shot there in the early 90's. I can recommend a boat trip on the Moselle. It's one of the most beautiful places in Germany. You also need to try the Moselle Riesling Wine and the Handkäs mit Musik :-)
You described the difference very well: a castle is always a super fortified building, and a palace is an unfortified and mostly large house, which looks really expensive. 😁
Koblenz - where the Mosel river flows into the Rhine. The old Romans called it "Confluentia" - the name which later on turned into Koblenz. Vine grapes are cultivated to this day along the banks of the Rhine and the Mosel in the surrounding countryside, and Koblenz for its large supply of Wine throghout Germany and many parts of Europe. One down side to the location of Koblenz, though: the Rhine and its tributary the Mosel are proned to have flooding problems primarily during the springtime, with elevated water levels which are most apparent close to the historical center of town; the water of the Mosel may also look murky at that time.
My home city! I've been living here for 8 years now. And I actually moved here, because I like the city. No other reason, no woman, no job thing... just because I like it here.
Koblenz is great. Thanks for taking us around. For me the best city to live in Germany is whether Koblenz or Würzburg. I love both citys. You should visit Würzburg for sure.
And you've got ac, too. It's hard to suggest without knowing your requirements for being on your list. But our region could be worth it : Mainz/Wiesbaden. Rhine+rhine plain+Taunus (two hills around 800m)+Frankfurt airport+ 3 bigger universities+many jobs and a variety from village to city.
Lovely City. The dumplings made me hungry.....Is most of Germany Grey weather a lot? I watch a couple other TH-camrs in Germany and they’ve said ‘Grey & Cooler weather than they thought, too. I just love all the green vegetation Amex I like grey weather. Not a fan of the heat. I sweat if it gets above 68°F. Keep traveling you lovely young couple. Be safe. Be well.
Haha welllll the weather can be grey a lot of the year, especially compared to the weather in the southeast of the US. 😋 During the summer, it can get pretty hot, but it usually doesn't last for that long. It also really depends on the area of Germany. If you're not a fan of the heat then fall and winter are your seasons in Germany!! haah. 😀
@@DeanaandPhil actually it lasts pretty long. Especially here in Koblenz. It's one of the more warm and dry regions in Germany. I mean Spring has already Summer Temperatures and during Summer it's 30 to 40 degrees. Often there is not a single rain drop for weeks and weeks. Fall is also relativley sunny and this year it was very hot so far. During October we had Temperatures of more than 20 degrees. And the Winter is Always extreme. Extreme cause it's Not really a normal Winter anymore due to climate Change. It can be a Winter that's was to hot for Winter with nearly no snow or it can be a very cold one with much of snow.
I dont like high places, either. But I don't mind flying! No tall buildings or cable cars for me! GIV just did a vlog on Koblenz, too, I went back here to see yours and it was nice contrast as he was just visiting whereas you were considering living there. You ate at a Turkish style restaurant whereas he and his mum ate at a more traditional German restaurant. Nice to see vlogs of the same place from several vloggers! I would love to live in Koblenz or Trier, but I really have zeroed in on Wuppertal! I am in love with the Schwebebahn!
Third stop on our German Road Trip: Koblenz! This city with a population of about 112k is a bit smaller, but we were actually pretty surprised by how much we liked it! Do you know there's one gondola with a glass bottom. I think it would be a "nice" experience for Deana to take this one.
Koblenz is great, spent a day there again just a week ago. Shame I didn't run into you, that would have been so unreal. :p
Hidden gem must be a very good description of this charming, old style feeling not too big,not too small town...
Your search is over !! You have just found the most beautiful city in Germany :-)
With both of you (and especially with Deana) Koblenz would be even more beautiful.
I lived in Koblenz for pretty much my whole life. I actually moved into the Altstadt about a year ago. I just love this town. Not too big, so it still has it's quiet places, but big enough so you have everything you need. If you have any questions about the town, I'd be happy to answer them.
Hey, ein Kowelenzer. Bin auch aus Koblenz. Wohne jetzt aber in Köln
Just the perfect compromise if you want to have the advantages of a city but not the drawbacks.
the surrounding areas are endless fun to explore, oktoberfest in Muenchen (drive to Munich about 90 minutes, in the alps and Salzburg about 3 hrs
You have to drive down the Rhine valley, along the river to see the castles.
I'm surprised, too, about them skipping Bonn! With all its important history... plus it's much more beautiful than Köln or Düsseldorf..
yes me too.
plus we have the Eislabor. one of the worlds best ice cream places.
Beautiful, peaceful, clean, charming. Looks like a great place to live and raise a family.
We lived in Bamberg back in the '90s and I miss it so much. It was such a lovely town and so much to do. But it's in Bavaria and I don't know if you want to live that far south.
Hey - greetings from Bamberg. I live here since 2008.
But I am a child of bigcities. And Bamberg is a little bit to small for me
My suggestion to settle in Germany is Hamburg.
So many better towns, even in Baden-Württemberg.
Trier is also a beautiful city you have to visite and it's close to luxembourg 😉 👍 your videos are great and i love to watch them 👍👍😀😀
You guys are killing me.
8:50 Deana's using the German "jaja" perfectly now! :D
What, you didn't stop on Bonn?
This Bundesland was just not as appealing or beautiful a
s the Bavarian part that I have such fond memories of as being one of the most beautiful and serene places in my mind and heart forever! ❤️
I was born in Koblenz and have lived there for my first 20 years. I now live in Cologne for already 9 years. I love both of the cities. If u are looking for a smaller city but still enjoy some big city activities go for Koblenz. If u love and enjoy bigger cities go for Cologne.
I am living in Koblenz since 1970 and I don't want to move. There is so much to enjoy for everyone, including amazing wine.
Liebe euch beide! ❤️
Hey, you can visit Heidelberg. It has the same vibe as Koblenz. They're a lot of young people and events because of the university.
Heidelberg is very nice!
I second that. If you liked Koblenz you´ll fall in Love with Heidelberg!
jep. i was there last year. a great little town.
Sure, its nice, but stuffed with americans.
@@stefanrupp Das ist sehr unhöflich.
Cant wait to be in Koblenz tomorrow night! Going there because of your Instagram stories :D it looks so nice! :) thanks for the inspiration!
when you take the cable car from Garmish, up to the Zugspite, the cars bounce when they cross the towers, and you have to change the cars at the top, to get down inside the bowl for snow skiing
I would have done the same 😝
Munich, cool people & history
Also nochmals vielen Dank.
If you ever have time you should visit Mainz and Wiesbaden.
Mainz is very comfy yet it is the capital of Rheinland-Pfalz.
There is also some architecture sights like the Dome and the Gutenberg Museum.
Also between the two cities there is the Rhine and some pretty shore promenade of both sides.
These video series are so nice! You guys are quite charismatic and it is clear you enjoy your journey. I live in Germany and I appreciate the travel tips. Thanks for sharing!
That viewing platform reminded me of the time we all learned was Phil's full name was. lol.
This is where I went to school until recently. I live nearby. It's a nice city.
If you wanted a touch of America around you, check out Kaiserslautern or Wiesbaden (also at the River Rhine) both host major US Force Bases.
Please
visit Lübeck! It has everything you like. History, half-timbered houses, a lot
of water, student vibes, vivid art scene, small town flair in a modern 200.000
population city and various food options. And it's surrounded by gorgeous
nature
Very nice city 😊
About the best city: Have look at Lindau am Bodensee. It's the most beautiful city I've visited so far.
Liebe Lindau aver sehr teuer .
I life near to Koblenz, it is by us the biggest City. The land around Koblenz is also very nice. So I love to life in this area in Germany😍
Gernerally I recommend to visit smaller / middle cities since they are what makes Germany so lovley :) I's all about live quilty ;)
Since you already visited the Rheinland highly recomend to check the "counter parts" Münsterland (Münster and the cities arround it)
Further the Sauerland should be worth a trip. I guess Soest would be a good starting point.
Next in line would be Celle. Very lovley city with a lot of cultural options to visit.
For a larger trip further away from your location it would be Mannheim > Heidelberg > Karlsruhe > arround Stuttgart > Freiburg
Or you take a trip to the sea f.e. Fehmann or Kiel are nice places.
I will stop here because I could go on forever (came a lot arround for my job in the past)
And you mistimed your trip to Koblenz. There is an event called "Rhein on Fire" which is basicly a great firework and along the Rhine. If you are on a boat and shipping down the Rhine it's an absoluty amazing view.
Please try Konstanz.
And if you visit, make a small trip to the island of Mainau, there is a butterfly house, it is really beautiful.
I love Koblenz. I had such a good time there.
i love your travel videos! I am planning to live in Germany so watching this kind of videos are just what I need :)
You can get frozen Manti in Turkish supermarkets. It's the easiest thing to make. Just add Yoghurt and chili oil and whatever toppings you like and enjoy.
0:59 you passed my house‘s door 😯 I should have known that you were in Koblenz, we could have had a coffee on my roof top balcony ✌️🙂✌️
Koblenz is amazing, I live here since more than 10 years and I finally decided to buy my own appartment.
And the River is clean.
It's a small romantic City down the Rhine at the Moselle River and got beautiful Places like the Reichsburg, Burg Eltz, the steepest vinyard in Europe (Bremmer Calmont), much Wine- and Half-timbered house
Culture.
I'm living in a smaller town near Koblenz and when i am there it is so great
Koblenz - where the Mosel river flows into the Rhine.
Nice touch too that they have gondolas, what a way to check out the town....
WE love Koblenz. There is so much to see and do down the Rhine or Mosel. I would say a good choice.
My favorite cities are Heidelberg and Hamburg, you should visit them.
I liked Koblenz. My ancestors are from Pirmasens. A cool side trip in that area is Marksburg castle.
I am American and I plan to move part-time to Berlin. I’m a big city boy
Deanna, I feel for you on that gondola. I experience the same anxiety. Koblenz looks like a very liveable place. You two are great 👍 ❤
Schaut euch doch mal Mainz an.
