Hey guys. We hope you like this video. We tried to show a bit more of our personal life and not just sit at a table. :) So it is very much "vlog-style". Let us know if you like it!

Deana and Phil Not crazy at all in the US it’s call lingonberry. It’s always served with the Swedish Meatballs at IKEA here in the US. They are a bit sweet as well as tart and somehow work with the savory meatballs and creamy gravy.
Love the swedish Meatballs. My late mummu (Finnish for Grandmother) was a Swedish speaking Finn. In her home she would always serve me Swedish meatballs with gravy potatoes and lingonberry sauce. When I visited the Ikeas in the US in Atlanta and Charlotte I would always start my trip to Ikea by having the meatballs with the potatoes, and lingonberry, and hard crack bread, plus a Swedish sparkling berry beverage that is very similar to Finnish drinks. Brought me memories of being in my mummu's (grandmothers) home in Vantaa, Finland. Love Ikea...great video. oh missed having the swedish cinnamon rolls after leaving Ikea with coffee that was quite a treat.
I have the Marcus chair too and it is awesome. Especially in summer, you don't sweat. Head support is fine too but I also added some custom pillows to make it more comfortable for my neck.
Loved it ! Ikea is really like a little homeland depot disneyland. I love checking out how they manage to make a 9m*2 space look so distinct and comfortable ! And just wandering through their store i see things i think i want....usually i end up buying some of those nice smelling candles and stuff my face with meatballs with mashed potatoes and hotdogs. I bought a few closets and Komoden from Ikea, but honestly they just fall apart if you ever try to move places. The wood used can't handle dissasembling a furniture piece at all. Spandex Platten. If you remove a screw, you destroy that part of the furniture... It's good for common household products but I rather save up a month or two longer, and buy a real furniture that will last. I love their pillows tho ! instead of washing an old pillow and it never being in shape again, just buy a new one for 10-20bucks once or twice a year. Weird that it's the more efficient way, hail capitalism i guess !
"If you're low budget having a lid that fits your pan-that's luxury!" Truer words never spoken. I think IKEA very similar to MUJI in that you can buy some items without breaking the bank but if you do your whole apartment in them it's gonna hurt your wallet.
Very nice tour ! Wunderschoen ! Last year when i moved bought some Ikea Pots and Pans.I had unsuccessfully built them-so i use them (in pieces) ! Those Meatballs looked so good and Lekker ! Meat,Chicken and Veggie ! Wraps and Vegetarisch-those all-beef Hot Dogs-me too, always buys them after Check-Out ! Svenska Pankoeken,Frozen Salmon,Herring to take Home-whats not to like ? Those Veggie Dogs always sell out-my Ikea was out of stock on those Veggie ones almost two months and theyre so Lekker ! Enjoyed your Room Tour @ your Ikea ! I go to four different Ikea near my Wohnung-and many times-just to eat ! Cant count how much ive purchased throughout the years ! And Phil-youre so correct in that Ikea perception is cheap-actually low-medium-high prices ! Everyone who shops Ikea-Must Watch this Video ! Sehr sehr Wichtige !
If you go shortly before closing time, the food is even cheaper, which makes it a good alternative for people on a budget. … Maybe I should look at Ikea for new lamps after all....
I have watched our videos for awhile and the chemistry between you 2 is amazing. I honestly don't know who is funnier. Greetings from Canada and please keep entertaining us.
The veggie hot dog is pretty flavourfull but it is easy to overcook. Normally there are also berries with the meatballs. They give a nice contrast. I love your video's and as a citizen of Belgium i can relate to a lot of German things. Grtz for Belgium
@@DeanaandPhil The berries come usually in the self-fill-tabs where you also get ketchup and stuff in the IKEA restaurants.😉 I've been watching your channel for quite a while now and I just wanted to say that you are a really cute couple! Anke from Kiel
IKEA is a blessed place for all Swedes living abroad. There we can get all Swedish specialties that they don't sell in ordinary shops. And to reasonable prizes.
Ikea in the US has food courts. At least the one in Indianapolis does. Food is about the same as at Ikea I. Germany. They even sell the Swedish Marabou candy.
As always, much love to you both from Western New York State. Not that big, overpriced NYC. My favorite Phil quote: "You have a nice muffin there". Brilliant
Dann, I so want to try that veggie hotdog now... and you of course got the Ikea tealights lol And what you said about sitting 8 hours and health - your older you will thank your younger you for these kind of ideas Cool video
Funny fact, in GB I can only buy saucepans with one long handle. My original sauce pans from Germany have 2 short handles, or one long handle. I need to replace my big, 2 handled ones, and I can only get them at IKEA.
Quality was better with their furniture but still one of the better that you can get for its price. We bought and installed our own kitchen to save money. Except for water and power we did everything ourselves. We are very happy with the oven that we bought. It doen t have any brand on it but found out it’s a Zanussi Food in the German version of Ikea restaurant looks much better Self-hotdog service ,,we do not have this in the Netherlands
I've had that Markus chair for about 10 years (?), maybe a previous model though. After that I bought another more expencive one from somewhere else. That one lasted about 2 weeks ... now I'm back to Markus from Ikea :-)
Veggie hotdog has it's own (sweater onion) sauce. Nice you can put your own relish on.. some IKEA's but not all in the Netherlands let you do that. My IKEA also has a bakery with nice bread. I also like the daim chocolate pies in the freezer, but never buy them. I've been looking for a shoe spoon forever, never knew IKEA sold them and would have wanted to know yesterday when I was in the IKEA. I needed to redeem my giftcard before February otherwise it would have expired. A gift card I got for buying my Christmas tree at ikea. Buy a tree for 20 euros and get a giftcard worth 19 to spend in January. Great preisleistungsverhaltnis 😁. And a 1 euro breakfast at ikea. Also free coffee and tea for ikea members. You aren't allowed to tap sodas.. But you can if you want. Ice cream soft ice for 50 cents. Ikea is reasonably priced, but very inexpensive if you know what to buy. Kitchens are very cheap. Beds are nice and cheap.
Just a couple weeks ago visited Ikea and bougt 3 kettle serie and tried same kind of a chair (I think it was Lucas). Frying pans are actualy very good and cheap. Last time i looked the same pan (26 cm) that i bought there earlier costs little bit over 12€. Everywhere else costs at least 25€ and quality is crap.
They have a Veggie Hot Dog now? I have to go to IKEA again. I love the meatballs and the swedish chocolat. We was in IKEA in Sweden in Malmö when we spent our holidays there. It was so funny.
Its ok to eat in their restaurant. The quality of the food was better in the early days. Also we had more plates to pick from. Here in the Netherlands the coffee taste very nice but it’s depends on wich Idea Other thing ,, if you have a family card, the refill is free. Ikea has one of the best hotdogs
I wondered if you went to IKEA in Kassel because I recognized the parking house at IKEA. After I saw the radar traps on the autobahn I was sure it was Kassel. ;-)
Nice...we always go to Grossburgwedel....und meistens kaufen wir nur duft Teelichter und essen Das Restaurant ist immer voll weil viele von der Autobahn runterfahren nur zum Essen... I actually regret not having tried the veggie dog....well next time!

Good job, I like seeing a day in your life. You two make a great couple. Do they not have lingonberry items in the restaurant? Here in the USA the lingonberry cake and juice are really good. I add water to the juice because it's a bit too sweet for me.
IKEA seems to look exactly the same wherever you go. And yes, the food is pretty decent. I'm in the Los Angeles area and, while we can't claim to have the largest IKEA store in the world (that's in Manila, I guess,) we do have the largest IKEA store in the U.S., located in Burbank, California, at 456,000 square feet.
The markus chair is a GOOD chair... I have it my self :) And you are totally right about the prices Phil... Ikea aint that cheap when it comes to bigger "projects" .. we just spend 1500 $ at Ikea the other day, and that was only for a closet... Without the doors.. That I wouldnt call cheap
What I really like about the food options at IKEA - vegan is cheaper than non-vegan (e.g. ice-cream and veggie dog) or at least not more expensive. That‘s the way it should be everywhere.
Phil do you have a video explaining how well you speak/learnt english? You even get many idioms correct. Oh and by the way the way you film Deana is great she is very attractive especially in this video.

Hi there. Just one thing I wanted to mention: I mean you can do whatever you want, but please throw away that capsule coffeemaker, if you haven't done already, and replace it with something more environmentally friendly. Good old filter coffee for example. The capsules are expensive and leave a lot of trash. There are way better options out there. I'm mean yes, it's convenient, I know, but that's the only plus.
I like your authentic style of reporting👍 Since these Ikea-Outlet are very much alike - here are some special hints you may use next time, when going to this Swedish Superstore in your area. 1. Have a look at the "Fundkiste"- department, where you can pick up very low- low bargins from the store. (Usually exhibition furniture pieces or plains sales-items). Worth looking! 2. Also, try to get the "IKEA Family Pass" (no extra costs). It gives you 10% discount on every item bought on Thursdays, also some special bargain-offers and free coffee/tea everyday. Don't want to praise this company too much - With some (high price) items they are not cheaper or better than others (i.e. kitchen, bathroom..) and their food-section is very "SWEDISH" - basic. Surprised me actually, that they don't expect you to wash your own dishes after you ate at their restaurant. But overall it's a cool and relaxing Superstore to check out!!
Sometimes you gotta laugh. When you asked Alexa for the weather mine started responding :D And yes IKEA ain't that cheap and sometimes not as good as from other brands
Phil: Deana called you Philip! You're in trouble! 😂 Great vlog style video! I loved IKEA in Germany. I mostly went there just for the meatballs and coffee and cake. The hot dogs ain't too bad either. And the chocolate is really good, too. More vlog videos, please. :)
1:17 What a weird coincidence. Just went to my kitchen to get my personally homemade avocado tomato guacamole together with a slice of german bread and now this :)
*O!! Okay than_ Myself, had just wanted to STOP right on by to say; thank y'all 2 both, for being "1 of a Kind" also for "Putting me this Early" my friends. Anyways! Nice job & thanks, for playing Weekends video*
Köttbullar ist das beste Essen bei “Eikea” 😂 und in Schweden überhaupt!!! Und als Nachtisch Kanelbullar - Zimtschnecken... hmmmmm - try this the next time bei Eikea!!
I got a question. I've eaten at the IKEA near me and the food is served on plastic plates with plastic utensils. I also noticed when y'all were filming the outside Christmas videos that all the drinks were served in real mugs. Is it common in Germany to not use plastic? Not sure why I noticed, just did. Lol
Carol Graham At Ikea in Europe food is not served on plastic. Plastic or paper is generally only used for take away food. The US has taken the use of plastic plates and cups to another level ! It always makes me mad when people in american films drink coffee IN their office or at home from paper cups. Such a waste of ressources and money. Do they really do that? Doesnt the coffee get cold when you have to bring it from a place outside. Dont they have coffee machines and mugs? Still take away coffee has become more popular in recent years here, too. But there are efforts to cut back on the single use paper cups. customers are encouraged to bring their own reusable cup. At most places you get a discount of 10-20 ct for doing that. Side note: Starbucks is not very successful here. Germans are stingy and dont like to pay 5€+ for coffee. The normal take away coffee is between 1 and 3€.
-_- Jap I know way to many IKEAs in Germany. Kassel, but even without knowing that, that wretched speeding radar gave it away. And I have no f-ing clue why... wait actually I do, apparently I'm handy when people are moving and have some decent sense for room lighting. (On a side note, even if I don't like those things, on that particular part of the A7 it is necessary to keep people from speeding since there is a very steep cliff that provides enough time to regret that you where speeding.)
Eure Videos sind super süß! Und ich liebe es wie D deutsch spricht! :D Das Haus braucht kein Dach...
I have the same chair and love it (I'm regularly taking naps in it).
OMG, guys... Don't you get the cranberry jam with yout meatballs in IKEA in Germany? 😮 We love IKEA meatballs in Poland, but the cranberry jam is the basic. As far as I know - orginally in Sweden they also eat that dish with cranberry jam.
How come I lived in the US&know about the IKEA meatball& good foods? I know the original founder still drive same car&live in same home since last 60yrs. He eat in cafeteria everyday. I admire him.
Wow, 129 euro only? I see Markus here is $269! I'm sure price in Germany has gone up some in 2 yrs but I doubt more than doubled! You got a good deal! IKEA in US is not a discount store!! Not worth my driving a half hour or more, to closest IKEA store to me, anyway! What little I would save buying at IKEA, I would use up in time and gas.
You both look so good. Did you have a SPA day? I need t I buy me one of your Coffee mugs. It matches my Christmas card. I also want one of Deana’s bears. It’s a bear,ya?!?

The köttbullar are normally eaten with cowberry sauce. BTW Ikea is one of the biggest gastronomy chains - in sales directly after subways in germany.

Since these Ikea-Outlet are very much alike - here are some special hints you may use next time, when going to this Swedish Superstore in your area.
Thanks for the alexa stuff, my Alexa understood "was ist apple" (what is apple) xD
This apartment is SO cute. I now need glossy red cabinets to match my glossy red side table..........that was also from Ikea. LOL.
I really love the crayfish and the reindeer ham from the IKEA food departments.
5 months late, but god, you both are so sweet! Relationship goals! Keep going!
@ 1:54 when Phil asked "Alexa what's the temperature," my own Amazon Fire Cube responded with the local temperature.
That chair is great, I have the same one at home, and at work everyone getting a new chair gets the same model :D
The cakes and the muffin looked good.
With the thumbnail I somehow thought the US didn't have food in Ikea or something haha, had to look that up and then it got clarified at the end
Ikea has food in the US and Canada too.
I've been to the Ikea restaurant in Canada and theyre not so much different compared to the ones in Germany.
Sometimes you gotta laugh. When you asked Alexa for the weather mine started responding :D And yes IKEA ain't that cheap and sometimes not as good as from other brands
enjoy your new chair, phil! ps, i spy a goku sticker on deana's laptop :-)
sorry about your slipped discs, have you tried an inversion table?
Phil: Deana called you Philip! You're in trouble! 😂
Great vlog style video!
I loved IKEA in Germany. I mostly went there just for the meatballs and coffee and cake. The hot dogs ain't too bad either. And the chocolate is really good, too.
More vlog videos, please. :)
😂😂😂 big trouble!!
1:17 What a weird coincidence. Just went to my kitchen to get my personally homemade avocado tomato guacamole together with a slice of german bread and now this :)
I had köttbullar in IKEA near Toronto when we were on holiday 😂
Kötbullar ohne Preiselbeersoße? WTF
This review might be late but I'm still gonna say that I really liked this vlog-style video a lot ^^
0:36 So dusche ich auch immer. Nach dem Motto , man kann sich auch Kratzen statt Waschen 😁
How do u get IKEA furniture home in those Tiny cars?
-_- Jap I know way to many IKEAs in Germany. Kassel, but even without knowing that, that wretched speeding radar gave it away.
And I have no f-ing clue why... wait actually I do, apparently I'm handy when people are moving and have some decent sense for room lighting.
(On a side note, even if I don't like those things, on that particular part of the A7 it is necessary to keep people from speeding
since there is a very steep cliff that provides enough time to regret that you where speeding.)
Loved it. Very interesting
That Ikea looks exactly like the one by me in Florida.
voll gut, dass es einen vegetarischen Hotdog gab. In Hamburg hab ich keinen bekommen :(
Eure Videos sind super süß! Und ich liebe es wie D deutsch spricht! :D Das Haus braucht kein Dach...
I have the same chair and love it (I'm regularly taking naps in it).
OMG, guys...
Don't you get the cranberry jam with yout meatballs in IKEA in Germany? 😮
We love IKEA meatballs in Poland, but the cranberry jam is the basic. As far as I know - orginally in Sweden they also eat that dish with cranberry jam.
How come I lived in the US&know about the IKEA meatball& good foods? I know the original founder still drive same car&live in same home since last 60yrs. He eat in cafeteria everyday. I admire him.
Wie ihr wart im TV ? Bei SAT 1 Frühstücksfernsehen ? Kann man das hier im TH-cam nochmal anschauen ?
We are not aware of that. :D
Finde ich gut mit den Tabletts bei unserem gibt's für die Hot dog nix.wenn ich 4 holen muss is das immer Herausforderung😂😂
Defo needed more sauce and cranberry jam on your meatballs.
They also do proper meals.
Nice editing, wird immer besser
Great Video Guys thumbs up 👍
Who else noticed Deana imitating a Swedish accent at 3:38?
Ohhhh, didn't know, that you live somewhere close to the place where I live. That's nice :)
The founder Ingvar Kamprad, known for being very frugal, said he often visited IKEA stores for a cheap meal. :p
I notice Deana is using her both knife and fork to eat. Most Americans chop food and scoop up afterwards with fork
You both look so good. Did you have a SPA day? I need t I buy me one of your Coffee mugs. It matches my Christmas card. I also want one of Deana’s bears. It’s a bear,ya?!?
