Great review, thanks for highlighting some stock combinations for the route as well. I somewhat lucked into getting this route as it randomly appeared on sale one day for only 2 pounds 😀
7:29 the SW mainline does get the odd steam rail tour as they go down to Swanage via the Swanage heritage railway which branches off past Wareham. But yeah as a person who used to live in Poole (thankfully not anymore) it does always disappoint me that this route only goes as far as Bournemouth and not all the way to Weymouth especially since there's a lot of good scenery past Bournemouth.
Nice review of my local! Shame it doesnt go to either Bournemouth Depot via Branksome and beyond, nor to Eastleigh. P.s cheers for the shout out! Bournemouth scenery is 'very inautthentic'! P.p.s. You could still run a T14 inauthentically 😂😂😂
Gotta say SWR/SWT has to be one of my favourite operators mostly bdcause of the different variety of trains they have or had. And also i just enjoy going down the PDL
I think I along others in the comments also dislike how the route ends only at bournemouth. Would’ve been nice if it also had gone down to Weymouth. Outside the lack of route length and an odd reason that I don’t like this route is because that it’s how isolated the route itself is. At the moment, I don’t think there’s anyone who had made the remaining section from basingstoke to Southampton nor is there a connection between Brighton and Southampton (there is someone currently making a freeware route with lots of requirements, however it ain’t going to reach Southampton anytime soon). In which I am a sometimes often regular visitor on the West Coastway for Southampton’s ikea. (Edit: after this comment I only found out that there IS an entire SWML from Waterloo to Weymouth from a train sim community page.)
Be a nice route in tsw5 but portsmouth harbour Bournemouth.. end to end! Slamdoor era though because swr won't give licence. Like a 411 and a class 50 loco... maybe a thumper for that non electrician between st denys and cosham!?
Great review. I genuinely think that this is the TSC route of all time is the best way you could’ve put it; I have driven it and it looks nice but due to how short it is and most of it just headed through forest it really just lumps together in my mind as “that one route” as there’s nothing very special to it. I also agree that the route coverage is shockingly short; it’s reaching TSW levels of strange route cutoffs for no apparent reason. I got this route for an incredible price a few months ago or maybe last year (I don’t exactly remember) during a large Steam sale where it was 90% off for $2 AUD. I mean where you can go wrong with a price like that for a route? It’s also worth nothing that DTG’s Class 220 has been discontinued for a while. At a guess I would say due to issues with licensing for CrossCountry because of its ties with both Arriva and Virgin Trains both now gone and forced ingame locos to either be discontinued or re-released as unbranded versions. May have also been an excuse to just not fix it if the 220 crashing when placing it down in e world editor is a common issue for quite few people.
I forgot that the DTG Voyager is discontinued. As for you getting the route for only $2 AUD, that's an absolute steal; reminds me of when I got the WSR in TSW for around $7 NZD.

Thanks for making me aware this route existed, I never knew!

Well done as always. Still waiting for your run down Cajon with at least a mile longer. C'mon, you can do it. Right to Dino.

I wish thay added it to TSW5
You should review the district line from backdated train sim
I’m curious, will you buy WCML Preston-Carlisle soon?
Not until it goes on a discount. I'm not prepared to pay $64.49 (NZD) for a TSW add-on.
My tws adds on are 36

Yeah I remember that sale, I believe JT made an announcement and it was a massive steal
Can you do the review of WCML Preston to Carlisle in TSW5
Not until I can get the route on a discount.
You are seriously missing out on a fantastic route and loco it's genuinely amazing.
Oh, I can't comment. Why not utube?
sometimes I can’t comment either
TS Classic will always be better than the overrated Train Sim World.
