  • This is the beginning of the Subie Baja offroad edition engine rebuild. The engine had some oil leaks and coolant leaks and I address them in this video. What a pain... Literally the oil leak came from a simple o-ring failure. Cars in a nut shell. "WHAT MAKES A SUBARU A SUBARU"

i know the pain man, i use these types of jobs to add other after market parts at the same time so it doesn't feel like all that work for such a small issue, and saves me time later on.

Right! Yeah I gotta whine a little bit doing big projects lol. I also wished this had more going for it with aftermarket support. Hard to find stuff. idk.

If I could have all the cars in the world I'd have a clean B9 and a Lincoln Blackwood. I honestly don't even think the B9s are ugly. I get excited seeing them lol. Just a regular economy car to most people. More fun if you know Subarus story behind them and the rarity. Great content man I had fun watching.

Thanks man! Lincoln Blackwood, wasn’t that the truck thing?

@@Manvscars it was fords weird attempt at a luxury truck before luxury trucks were really a thing. It had a weird fold up tunno cover and a carpeted bed haha.

also, I respect it all being solo I know it's quite hard to tackle some of these jobs without an extra pair of hands.

I helped take out one of these engines from a subaru forester a while back with a buddy of mine. It was suprisingly way simpler than i thought it would be to get an engine out haha

Yep, not terrible at all to remove.

I didn't even know the suitcase muffler started with tribeca. I thought it's a wrx only thing.

Yuck, they put them on the wrx’s too? I didn’t know that. Stupid heavy and awkward.

I never will understand why Subaru thought a boxer engine that splits in half was a good idea vs a v or inline

impressive. How do you remember the order of things and getting the bolts in the right holes.

Some people show off 500.000 miles car and skips the whole story what it been through

That is a terrible design... a better engineer could easily eliminate the o-rings at those points.

      Right, for sure.
