Eilis, fantastic, sympathetic and helpful review of key e-bikes of the moment. Thank you so much for reinforcing the Aitch to a querying society. Great video.
So I recently brought the ADO Air from Electroheads via their cycle to work scheme. If you are looking for a folder (or any new bike) I highly recommend using their try before you buy offer. Firstly the folks at Electroheads are amazing, you will get honest opinions of each bike, so even if you can't get to their store, it's still worth having a chat. After test riding, I was torn between the Estarli E20 and ADO Air, i literally changed my mind 5 times! To be honest there is hardly anything between them. the ride is very similar, E20 more comfortable ride but Air is slightly lighter and has better manoeuvrability, but both are great overall. I would say the main differences (advantages are) are the Air is low maintenance (with the belt drive) and IMO looks nicer vs E20 I hear has excellent customer service (including after purchase) being UK based and will get up big hills better. There are of course other features on both, so enjoy the research into them :) Took the Air on the train for the first time yesterday, and rode 14/15kms across London each way. Weather was great, route was fun and feeling glad I got my folder from Electroheads. I still have a few things to nail down with my Air...The fenders are difficult to put on (have the rear on only) and need to master the folding (sometimes it wants to roll over) - both of which I'm sure I will get there. The walk assist on the Air is also quite handy. GLA
Which is best for a senior citizen with poor muscle strength. I live in a very hilly area, don't need speed as much as ability to get up hills without peddling!!. Must be light and foldable.
None of these are affordable ! For affordability, Chinese bikes are the key. Ado A20+ , FIIDO D4s, PVY Z20 pro and samebike 20xlr are some of the affordable foldables which are under £750. Samebike has 48V 10.4ah while rest are 36V 10.4ah
The only reason I wouldn’t go for a Chinese bike is because I don’t want the battery to blow off my roof. Having worked in manufacturing in China for half a decade, the lack of QA from local manufacturers is… just. Yeah.
@@evehg117 you will have very little choice then as almost all bikes use components made in China. Brands like Estarli, Mirider, Mycle may be assembled in Britain but the components are made in China. Apple products are made in China, not all products made in China are of poor quality. The largest lithium battery manufacturer in the world is Chinese and they are at the forefront of battery technology.
@@sergentcolon1 The issue is not where the batteries are manufactured. It’s the lack of quality control from cheaper brands simply because they do not have the budget, which you would’ve noticed if you read my previous comment properly. Apple hires an entire QA team the size of a small town as does most major companies tend to do. If something the Chinese manufacturer produces does not pass their quality control, they will get destroyed. Smaller companies have no QA at all. They will ship anything, including defective batteries.
I find the easy tolling while folded part very important and wish you’d been able to address that w/ each rather than just the first bike. Motor size and torque also. Not all folders roll well. Thanks.
The battery being in the saddle seat is not smart at all, because you can't lock it. Anyone can just take the saddle out and steal it. Meaning you always have to carry the whole saddle and post with you all the time.
Would love to see a comparison between ADO Air and Fiido D21. Very similar price, similar design, both seem very popular, but i can't seem to find proper comparisons online
Any reason why you don’t have time to charge up the batteries and depending how the batteries are made could cost more to charge than others. So there’s more to electric bikes than what people think.
Is there any brick-and-mortar store for this ebike in Florida? I might be interested in seizing an opportunity to test it out. Just a few days ago, I had the chance to test ride the M160 Foldtan, and it completely revolutionized my perception of folding ebikes.
Thanks for your reviews. I am looking to buy a step-through bike which will give me a long range. I would like a genuine review of a road test and not a manufacturer's claims of how far the range is possible depending on fine-tuning of all factors. There has got to be some average guy that has done a reasonable road test one fine day to be able to submit at least an average result? and not claims of 100km and the usual blah blah you can read that as this or that.

I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.
