Thanks Pat! I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out the OBD Link LX app and thru your video realized I needed to download a whole separate Tune ECU app. Life saver!!!
Why can't Triumph just allow us to change the service interval through the on board system. I guess it was a decision made by the same half wit that decided that you don't ever need to see the odometer other than for 3 seconds on start up.
I use Dealer Tool on my Tiger 900 GT. It will do all the required maintenance like throttle body balance and brake bleeding. This is my third Triumph and its worked on all of them from 2011 on. I do know that Triumph updated the interface on the new 1200 and 660 and the Dealer Tool won't reset the service interval on those yet.
Has there ever been a software update for the tiger 900 ? Any way to find out if there is one, without letting your bike be "serviced" by triumph/dealer ?
This question is regarding the Tiger 900. I almost bought the 850 Sport late last year but I kept reading complaints about two issues. Engine heat during the summer mainly on the LH side, and a buzz thru the bars at highway speeds. Can you give me your thoughts on these two items? thanks
I have not experienced either issue to be honest. That said the tiger is the wife’s bike so I really don’t ride it that often. She hasn’t complained. From what I know both bikes are the same for the most part. Just more electronics on the 900.
The engine heat is a problem here in Australia, summertime can be the non-riding season for me. On a country run in 38 degree c weather even at speed the heat is a nuisance. Handlebar buzz at highway speed is an issue too, not huge but it can numb my pinkie.
The ecu support and website is terrible. I could never get mine to work. Terrible program. Terrible tech support. Im no dummy did everything exactly like it instructed but it would never reset my light.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels Once I filed a request on the forum for support it went unanswered and now I don't even have access to the support site any longer...they sent me an email telling me they we purging their database....just know this if you run into problems. This is a backdoor website ( hackers ) at best....I would be very careful doing anything with that app.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels Thanks for response. I have owners manual, it's a 2022. Looks like you didn't need an adapter plug either. You have a standard OBD2 plug. I suspect that you can use a regular code reader, particularly now that I have cause to think it is a standard OBD plug. Can't even get a basic maintenance manual for my bike that I've seen. Once Triumph went to fuel injection, they decided to lock up the maintenance for their dealers. It's maddening and cause for a class action against Triumph IMO.
@@x-man5056 yes it is a standard obd2 plug. I think you can read codes with a reader but not reset service light. That’s was my understanding anyways. I saw a video where you can rent the service manual thru triumphs website but never looked for my self.
@@PatsAdventuresTravels That would be helpful for big issues but there should be an owner's service manual (paper) available for torques, chain and clutch adjustments, valve lash, brake fluid exchange and bleed, etc. The Triumph dealer near me is just a bunch of thieving Aholes, I'd never let them wrench on my bike for any price.
Was considering buying the 2024 Speedmaster but this has put me right off. Always bought Indians and you can reset from the screen on those. Triumph are trying to allow there stealerships a way to make a ton of money off you. Well I'm buying a scout instead now.

Good to know!! Why can't we have a reset like cars? My only plan for it is the service light reset.

Just did mine again yesterday. Such a pain to figure out this stuff when you only use it once a year.

Hey, mine Tune ECU doesnt have Reset service interval on adjustments. Jus engine adaptations and idle speed. Why is that? Help
I had to pay for the app to get that function. If you did that then I’m not sure why without seeing things.

Not valid anymore. They are charging now for license every year. easier to just go to dealership or not to buy triumph (huge reccomendation)

Agreed this shouldn't be legal, but Triumph isn't the only one that does this.
