  • This is a TuneECU tutorial. It'll be boring and unless you have a 2019+ Rocket 3, you probably won't enjoy it. 😁
Thanks to @Dave's Man Cave, I was able to make this video specifically for my Rocket 3 GT. Do this at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything you do with your bike.

Glad it helped! Makes a huge difference. You can also adjust fuel, ignition, lower the cooling fan temp and other things all in the same map...

I've run two Rocket 3s at the Bonneville Salt Flats and two Kawasaki zx1400s. The highly modified 2014 Rocket 3 with 260 rwhp went 164 mph. The mosly stock 2021 Rocket 3 with 160 rwhp went 152 mph. The 2012 Kawasaki Zx1400 with 170 rwhp went 180 mph. The 2013 Kawasaki Zx1400R went 196 mph.
The naked Rocket 3s are hard to ride and get higher speeds because of aerodynamics. Finally the torque of the Rocket 3s make it hard to hook-up on the salt.
I believe all those bikes would run 8 to 10 mph on pavement at lower altitudes. Vids of those bikes running are in my channel for the curious.

And you don't really need to do the 12 minute run when you reset adaptations in TuneECU. The 12 minute run is to reset things when you don't have TuneECU or the dealer tool. 🙂

@@SeadogSeven I think so too. Got their reflector-covers as well, the evotech tail-tidy and some different handle-control-thingies. A dealer here does a mod that moves the display down and forward, that might be next on my list of to-do's!

@terrible2u I'll have to look at those. I had found the aluminum covers and they were about $60. I couldn't justify it.

@@SeadogSeven Yea, in Switzerland you dont need reflectors at all, but since I do a bit of riding in the black forest here and there, ze germanz really like to make a fuss about it. Cant remove them, but nobody said anything about covering them. And it's just one screw each to get rid of them. For me, easy choice, for you, may be totally different!

Understood. I'm in North Carolina and I think they are required but not enforced. I took them off my previous bike and it passed inspection every time.

Can you do away with the speed restriction with tune ecu?.Thanks for sharing this video .A follow up would have been nice ie did you notice much difference.

    • @SeadogSeven
      @SeadogSeven  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Great question but I don't see the option to do that in Tune ECU. I've looked through all the menus to find it.
I just got some Chin Mount hardware and will do a follow-up video.

@@SeadogSeven watched video today all be it the tuner didn't say what software he was using, he needed multiple runs on a Dyno to get air /fuel correct and did say that he removed the top speed limiter, O2 sensor ect .He was Florida based .Proven power is his TH-cam site name.

Woolwich software has the ability to get rid of the top speed restrictions, increase the rev limiter and many other things 👍I just need find my nearest tuner who uses it.

I noticed the OEM values run low to high from bottom left to top right, but you altered them to run low left to high right - why is that? Triumph's ECUs are self-learning if you run the 12-minute tune, but I believe the 12 minutes begin after the fan has cut in, not just from a cold start. If you applied a new map, why has the 12-minute tune got to be run as well? - to be sure it allowed for the other values like TPS to adjust too, perhaps?

This was my 1st time using TuneECU and I was following the instructions from Dave's Man Cave channel. His walkthrough worked for me but I don't have the details of the "why".

Thanks for a very useful video. One question. What about the airflow and timing when you adjust your tps or etv to 100%. Will the ecu automatically compensate?

@@extraordinarywolf320 I don't own a Busa either but I do own both an identical Triumph Rocket 3 GT Triple Black and a Kawasaki ZZR1400/ZX14 Performance Sport. So to sort of answer your question...No!! The Rocket has higher torque at lower revs and does have amazing acceleration, however the ZZR/ZX1400 carries on after the R3 stops. With each one thousand rev increase the Kwaka finds even more pull, this is especially true above 7000rpm where the R3 reaches its limit.
To give you a pillion's opinion, I took my eighteen year old son on the Rocket, throttling up from in town speed limit his reaction was "Fcukn Wow!!" A week later doing the same thing on the Kwaka his reaction was " Holy Fcukn shit". As for comparing the bikes you really can't it's all down to what your riding style and preference is and whether you want a more stooped/cramped or more relaxed riding position. Both are Masterpieces of engineering, top of their class. You can see both bikes as well as my others on my other channel @greywolf9292

You are better off getting the Btmoto tune. They did more like fuel optimization to take advantage of 93 octane. Also increased the rev range. Adjusted fan cooling parameters. Probably some more stuff too
