  • For traitors on the block should die;
    I am no traitor, no, not I!
    My faithfulness stands fast and so,
    Towards the block I shall not go!
    Nor make one step, as you shall see;
    Christ in Thy Mercy, save Thou me!

    "Mine is the most dangerous name in England: Plantagenet, and once I carried it proudly, like a crown. Once I was Margaret Plantagenet of York, niece of two kings, the brothers Edward IV and Richard III, and the third brother was my father, George, Duke of Clarence. My mother was the wealthiest woman in England and the daughter of a man so great that they called him “Kingmaker.” My brother, Teddy, was named by our uncle, King Richard, as heir to the throne of England, and between us-Teddy and me-we commanded the love and the loyalty of half the kingdom. We were the noble Warwick orphans ...,raised in the royal nursery at Middleham Castle by Queen Anne herself, and nothing, nothing in the world was too good or too rich or too rare for us."
    - "The King's Curse" by ‎Philippa Gregory
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    On the morning of 27 May 1541, Margaret was told she was to die within the hour.Margaret refused to lay her head on the block, declaiming,"So should traitors do, and I am none;" according to the account, she turned her head "every which way," instructing the executioner that, if he wanted her head, he should take it as he could. Pope Leo XIII beatified her as a martyr for the Catholic Church on 29 December 1886.
    I like, that you connected TWQ, TWP, TSP and The Tudors. I was waiting for something like this. Maggie deserved better. The last minute of video is touching very much; all her Plantagenet's family has died. The white rose has gone.
    Henry seems to have forgotten that he, too, had Plantaganet blood in his veins. His grandfather was Edward the 4th. His mother was Elizabeth of York. He had no room to condemn the Plantagenets at ALL.
    But look who win at the end, Plantagent blood still runs trough many veins while Tudors are well dried to dust
    When Maggie says "What did you say to uncle Richard?" and Teddy says "Long live the king" my heart breaks. This is so tragic and unjust. Richard cared for his nephew and niece, and Tudors killed them both. What they did to the Plantagenets is horrible... just because they had a far better claim than them. Thank you for honouring Maggie's memory with this video. It's so beautiful and touching.
    Poor Margaret. Her life was such an ordeal, and yet she lived it with incredible strength and grace.
    She lost everything... her parents, her place in society, her fortune. She gets it back and even stays in the country. Then she loses her family, her fortune again, and then her life. She lived in fear of that ending for so long she fought back and her execution which was horrible enough to begin with turned into the stuff of nightmares...
    I love how The Spanish Princess goes into the relationship between Maggie and Cathrine of Aragon and why Maggie was so loyal to her even after her divorce and death. Cathrine was the only once to show real remorse for Teddy’s death despite being the only innocent party.
    Honestly it was shocking how they got the older actress in the Spanish Princess to look so much like her supposed younger self in the White Princess. It blew my mind, I thought they were the same person at first. But anyway... yep. The cousin's war was crazy. Long live the Plantagenets
    In the Tudors and in real life she was taken to the scaffold kicking and screaming. The woman who surrendered didn’t go easily
    Poor Margaret Pole. Because of having royal blood in her vain, she lost everything that she loved. I feel very pity for her. She deserve the best.
    Henry VIII was deplorable & he did many deplorable things in his reign but killing off Maggie Pole simply for revenge against her son who was seen as a traitor by Henry is absolutely disgusting.
    Maggie's character is astonishingly moving because she's portrayed to live through this saga is actually attested. She and her brother were York royals and yet they lost everything because of their parents early death. It's soothing how lovely she is towards the others around her even the ones who her relatives loathed. She doesn't even grudge dowager queen elizabeth woodville and goes to the abbey to comfort her in the last days. She shouldn't have suffered that way, she paid with her lite only because of her plantagenet blood. Hopefully she's blessed now into eternal peace, alongside edward and her mother isabel neville. It literally makes me cry what happened to her and I think the only kindness she received came from her cousin elizabeth of york and catherine of aragon both generous women for those decades.
    I feel so bad for her. She was innocent and lost so much throughout her whole life. This video made me sad, I almost cried.
    Poor, poor Maggie Pole. She is by far the most tragic figure of the War of the Roses
    I’ve watched this now a couple of times because the first time I watched it I couldn’t think of what to write. Its just so simply stunning its a beautiful masterpiece of a woman who had everything taken from her. You’ve done Margaret Plantagenet justice.
