I’m happy that Catherine Parr became the mother to all 3 kids of Henry. She knew that their father was cruel to their mothers and she became a mother figure to them, not even thinking to keep the throne to herself or her family.
Ah well yes, Catherine was truly a mother figure to them. But if i‘m not mistaken she remarried with Thomas Seymour and took elizabeth into her household for quite awhile where she got sexually harrased from her husband. At the end it turned out that Catherine was witnessing the somewhat „abuse“ and didn’t do anything about it. So i would say she also wasn’t the best mother figure….

@Hi Lifg her looks are a great mystery... There are many different reports about it... Most people believe that the reports saying that Anne was ugly came from Henry's friends and supporters but were lies to favor Henry's case. Many people believe that if the painting was misleading, Henry wouldn't have allowed Holbein to keep his head 😅 According to Dr. Kat from "reading the past", there was a beauty standard in Tudor court, so if she was ugly she wouldn't be allowed in court because it was required to be kinda of an ornament... And beauty is subjective anyway, so it is kinda hard to tell 😅 I'm very inclined to believe that she was pretty, but Henry found her boring because she was more quite, reserve than he would like her to be and didn't know anything about music, dance, courtly love and all other things Henry liked and there is the "first meeting disaster" too 😬
My heart really aches for Catherine Howard, abused as a child and manipulated by different men and her own ladies. She was actually repulsed by the king and was only a child. At least she may have had some happiness with the man she loved who was her actual age, they went out together.
Culpepper was 29 years old, and she was 19. In addition, there is evidence that she was under manipulation by him (he was charged with abuse and murder). In fact, the "love" letter that Katherine wrote has been reviewed and they found many errors that were not shown in the other letters, apart from the fact that she was trembling while writing it due to the carelessness of her writing and grammar of that then.
Henry did what a dutiful husband did in those times during his wife's pregnancies. He could not visit the bed of his wife, (intercourse was considered harmful for the baby)

The truth is Henry didn't really think she was ugly either. He decided to reenact one of his favorite plays and dress as a servant for the first time meeting her. According to the play Anne was somehow supposed to recognize that Henry was king, fall head over heels and kiss him. Obviously she didn't, so Henry and his hurt feelings decided to spread the story that she was ugly.
@@trackgirl2187 Right, if anyone was "revolting" at that point, it would have been an overweight Henry with a smelly leg ulcer. But we would think him a narcisst nowadays... nothing was ever his fault. They also say, that Anne was dumb. However, she might have suffered under an even then backwards view on the education of women, esp if they were expected to be on top of some other court later in life. She had enough common sense to just yield to Henry's wishes regarding divorce and as she was later welcomed at court and treated respectfully by her "stepchildren" , we can only assume, that she wasn't that unpleasant overall.
Catherine of Aragon: underrated, very intelligent and gracious. Anne Boleyn: Clever, manipulative, powerful but vulnerable. Vilified out of proportion; she was just trying to survive in a cruel world to women. Jane Seymour: didn't live long enough to p*** Henry off by showing her own opinions, but certainly had them. Might have been a decent queen if given a chance. Anne of Cleves: my favorite! Henry catfished her, not the other way around. She actually was very strong-willed and went on to live a wealthy, independent life after her divorce. Katherine Howard: Also vilified, but she was just a kid and in way over her head. She yet didn't have the political savvy of Anne, and ultimately met the same fate. Catherine Parr: Also strong-willed and unyielding. Kept her head in the worst circumstances. Was a decent stepmom to Elizabeth and probably helped shape her into the woman and ruler she became.
If you watch the other Boleyn girl you see Anne's sister raising her daughter. Catherine Parr also tried to connect Mary with her father again. If you watch the documentary series Lucy Worsley made you see she was scared around her father. She loved him and feared him at the same time.

It’s poetic justice that Anne, one of the wronged wives, gave birth to a girl who became one of England’s greatest leaders. Jane seymour’s son she gave to Henry didn’t make it past 20 years old when he was a prince. So all these years waiting for a male heir were a waste for Henry.

@Hi Lifg nope she introduced the early idea of religious tolerance, in England at least. I suppose it's not really religious tolerance, as long as they worship the same God, Protestants and Catholics are apparently the same thing to her, just with different interpretations. Her view is quite modern for her time. While she had her own beliefs and convictions, she also believed in tolerating the views of others.

@Hi Lifg It is undeniable that Anne played a fundamental role in the English schism, she was the woman who seduced the king, and without this Henry would not have risked ruining his relations with the catholic church. Furthermore, the daughter of Anne Boleyn was Elizabeth I, the queen who led england to the golden age. Finally, Anne Boleyn was not a clerk, but a woman of formidable intelligence and diplomatic ability, whose only sin was that of not being able to give that mad henry a son
@Hi Lifg please, everyone knows that the first of the two to approach the other was the king, and that even before Anne Boleyn the king enjoyed himself with Queen Catherine's numerous ladies-in-waiting
and during the marriage Anne Boleyn never shared a bed with anyone other than the king, while the king continued to enjoy himself with his numerous ladies, just as he did with Catherine
Anne of Cleves ended up getting the life she wanted in the end and that honestly amazes me. Though Catherine parr is known for surviving she didn’t want to marry him she wanted to marry Thomas. Anne definitely played her cards well.
A tragic twist of irony there is that Catherine's time with Henry might have actually been not so bad, considering what happened with Thomas Seymour afterwards.

So basically back then a man could throw his wives in prison be a neglectful parent to his daughters and no one would care, execute his wives for cheating when he cheats on the regular, divorces one when her looks don't meet his expectations and blames her for being humiliated, can get offended and furious when one of his wives have their own opinion, and just a manipulator and abuser in general. What a beautiful tribute. Cathrine Aragon, and Howard are by far my favorite. Aragon was such an intelligent, strong willed, level headed queen. Yes I said it, the one and only queen. I cant even explain the amount of intelligence and wit she possessed. Howard, although very young even she died, always looked on the bright side. Such an optimistic young lady, despite what she went through from a young age. Such a bright future she had.❤️
I saw that Anne definitely had a heart for family. In 3:04 I sensed that she felt responsible her brother's death, broke down and cried. And everything her father and uncle wished for, she fulfilled it even if she knew what a dangerous game she was playing..
In the story of Henry VIII, Jane Seymore is inevitably given the least attention when arguably she is the most important. Unprecedented among Queens of the time, like Ann or Elisabeth Woodville etc., who would immediately tried to consolidate power by maneuvering to get their relatives elevated in court, Jane did none of that. Instead she insisted that Mary (who was declared a bastard by Henry) be reinstated to her titles and thus back into the line of succession and prevented Henry from disinheriting Elizabeth after he beheaded her mother - both of which actually doesn't benefit her at all politically. She just had a big heart. Thus, for better or for worse, Jane had a direct hand in who would become the next 3 monarchs of England - her son Edward VI, Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth 1.
@@SmartStart24 Two of her brothers did get very high up, especially Edward who eventually became, for a time, Lord Protector of Edward VI. However, most of this rise came _after_ Jane had long passed away by stint of them being the future King's uncles and Henry's enduring soft spot for Jane. (Of his 6 wives, Jane was the one and only whom Henry decreed he would be buried beside when he died).
Agreed. And didn't Anne of Cleves have a hand in keeping Mary and Elizabeth at court too? So both these ladies helped elevate the next three monarchs of England.
Elizabeth Woodville did that to feel SAFE. NOT exactly for power. She was an commoner among royal family. Princess Diana would have did the same maybe..🙏🙏
All there ladies deserved better, but my heart always breaks hearing Katherine Howard's story. Poor girl didn't deserve all she went through as a child and dying. But all of them didn't deserve any of the garbage to put up with. I hope all six queens are resting in peace.
Catherine of Aragon was an amazing woman incredibly smart and fierce hell she was a warrior sadly she did give henry pretty much the only thing he wanted
Truthfully Catherine of Aragon was smart and Anne Boleyn and Anne of Cleves all educated and smart. Truthfully Anne C was the smartest in the end, she graciously took the annulment knowing the kings temper and kept the king on her good side afterwards including his daughters. He had at least 3 educated wives, driven wives, he was a tyrant
@@running_girl5512 You know when you think about it, you are right. Anne of Cleves was the smartest of all his other wives, since she knew the tyrant King's temper, and took the annulment in stride, and even managed to keep the King as a friend.
I think of Aragon as the warrior who jumped in battle was used , deceived , broken and left divorced but still in her mighty grace was her daughter who lived and still reached some place even though not a proper queen nor a nice person but someone that stood on her own without her mother . I do feel sad for the deaths she caused but I still feel as if they both were wronged the most.
this is brilliant editing. I love all the six wives none of them deserved the treatment they got. Queen Anne Boleyn holds a special place in my heart I've always been drawn her story I don't know why. I hope to one day visit the place where she rests and place flowers there.
Katherine of Aragon was an authentic queen. Her parents were powerful Kings. Her Lancaster ancestors made that she had even more rights to the throne of England than Henry VIII himself. Her behavior as queen was loyal, brave, responsable and she was very loved by the people. She behavior as wife was the best, a loving wife of her husband . She was very intelligent, sensitive , cultured and she was a great beauty. When she arrived England people told that she was the most beautiful girl they have ever seen. The big pity is that she was 5 years older than Henry and, when they married she had suffered 7 years of privations and anguish.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, if Henry didn't find her attractive there wasn't much she could do. Compared with his other wives, Anne of Cleeves got off pretty easy when you think about it. No executions or close calls (like when Catherine Parr was nearly arrested) for her.
I’m happy when six the musical is created because we can tell that this is the inspiration of the six wives of Henry the 8th and I love this kind of Royal regal fashion ❤❤❤
Catherine, is stereotypically depicted in some movies as having dark hair. Not all spanish are dark haired. And Catherine ironically had very blond hair.

Anne was Henry's life. She gave Henry exactly what he asked for a ruler who brought the tudor dynasty to a golden age. Not the bloody Mary or child Edward. She deserved more than a middle aged retrobute
One of the reasons Mary grew up to be such a tyrant was the abuse she received from Anne and Henry in her childhood. Anne had Mary sent to be Elizabeth’s servant. Literally demoting her from princess ans heir presumptive to a chamber maid.
@@emilybarclay8831 Anne didn't demote her. Henry ordered it and she was not made a chambermaid. She was known las Lady Mary and was one of the ladies in waiting to the princess. Queen Mary wasn't a bad ruler. A lot of people are unaware of this but she is the one who encouraged expeditions, new sea routes which helped bring England into the Golden Age. Also history is always written by the the victors so Mary's might be exaggerated as a cruel woman. Almost all Catholic rulers burnt heretics on the stake so Im slightly suspicious why aren't other rulers called bloody
I don't think Mary hated all non Catholics as she is said to have a good relation with Henry's fourth wife ,Anne of Cleaves who was not Catholic, who also attended her coronation and Mary ensured she was well provided for after Henry's death

Coincidence? Anyways, I just thought of sharing ty for reading people ✌🏻
Anna of Cleves might not have suffered an ending that was as cruel as the ones of Katherine Howard or Anne Boleyn, but just imagine living with the knowledge that you are married to a man who could end your life at literally any moment just because he is not satisfied with the way you look... I bet she was, despite being upset and disappointed for obvious reasons, quite relieved when Henry divorced her.
Amazing edit!! Though I am an Anne Boleyn's fanatic and love Katherine of Aragon, I feel that Jane Seymour isn't given the worth she has. At least, for what I know and what I've seen in the Tudors, she was a quiet but really unique woman, that desired no more than be happy the way she could (even though she had to tolerate Henry's infidelity) and help the others, like Mary Tudor and Elizabeth, that were not even her children. She also tried to take hold of the things that she could, empowering women and fighting subtly for the causes she believed in. That's why I have a lot of respect for her.
Honey, that's what's on the show. Jane Seymour never loved queen Elizabeth I. And Mary loved because she was of the same faith... I don't know why you hate queen Anne boleyn.
She was also so smart! She is just as cunning, calculating, and intelligent as Anne and Catherine. No one talks about how she literally plotted to separate Anne and Henry (and the fact she had a bit of a mean streak). I feel like no one shows that part of her, which is sad because I think one of the reasons the wives are so interesting is that it's so apparent that every one of them was so smart. Anne gets the most attention, which makes sense since she played the game the hardest and caused the most change but I think sometimes it makes people ignore the other wives.
They each had two mothers: Mary:Catherine of Aragon and Anne of Claves Elizabeth:Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard Edward:Jane Seymour and Catherine Parr

@Hi Lifg Bruh I know it’s not the real Anne of Cleves
@Hi Lifg her looks are a great mystery... There are many different reports about it... Most people believe that the reports saying that Anne was ugly came from Henry's friends and supporters but were lies to favor Henry's case.
Many people believe that if the painting was misleading, Henry wouldn't have allowed Holbein to keep his head 😅 According to Dr. Kat from "reading the past", there was a beauty standard in Tudor court, so if she was ugly she wouldn't be allowed in court because it was required to be kinda of an ornament... And beauty is subjective anyway, so it is kinda hard to tell 😅
I'm very inclined to believe that she was pretty, but Henry found her boring because she was more quite, reserve than he would like her to be and didn't know anything about music, dance, courtly love and all other things Henry liked and there is the "first meeting disaster" too 😬
I watched a video where they turned the paintings of the queens into real likenesses. Anne of Cleves was by far the most beautiful!

Hmmmm didn't Jane get her brothers elevated in court? I agree with everything else tho.

Mary 1 would have been great Queen, if she had good young life...
Though I am an Anne Boleyn's fanatic and love Katherine of Aragon, I feel that Jane Seymour isn't given the worth she has.
I love how each tribute ends with the glare of the next wife until the last three
They each had two mothers:
Mary:Catherine of Aragon and Anne of Claves
Elizabeth:Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard
Edward:Jane Seymour and Catherine Parr
Since 1547, Henry VIII has not only burned in hell, but also constantly been decapitated, forced to solitary confinement, publicly shamed as ugly, and die of childbirth
And forced to eat his lil weinner
And his wives kicking his ass after becoming a singing group
My favorites were Catherine of Aragon (She was always loyal and stayed true to her people) and Anne of Cleaves (She showed kindest and was respectful towards the king even though he hated her due to her looks)
This is so beautiful and amazing,I don’t have words to describe it. My favourite queen is Anne Boleyn👑
Mee to
Me Three!😊

Taking this seriously then hearing Henry shouting “she looks like a horse “ I lost it 🤣🤣
Henry's wives are all oppressed.
I just saw you on a Anne Boleyn edit hey again
@@shalisca7378 Welcome.
Are you a fan of Queen Anne Boleyn
@@mariamdesign6109 yes I just a few months ago got a history degree specialising in Tudor history
I looked incredibly deeply into the Boleyn family including Anne Boleyn and Henry and she's absolutely amazing she knew what she wanted and how to get it and gave the country and amazing monarch Elizabeth the 1st
@@shalisca7378 Queen Anne Boleyn was such an amazing, intelligent person ... she never deserved to die
. England gave the strongest queen in history ... Elizabeth was as smart as her. I don’t know why there are people who would hate that she is cute, beautiful, mother, wife and everything ... I hope now that she is in Heaven, the martyr of the English reform.
@@mariamdesign6109 completely agree.
She sadly had 2 still born sons and 3 miscarriages I think if her children had lived she would have never had been killed and died as queen of England Henry would never had been known for his 6 wives but for everything else he did . But sadly she did not and was painted as the big villain of the story when it was really Henry
Catherine of aragon❤❤❤
The entire series has captured wonderful moments, but sad ones too. But I stick to the idea of the first two seasons being the best.
PS: The part with Anne Boleyn totaly gave me chills
What is this series called?
@@ceosid317 Well there are actually 2 series in this video. The one with the red haired woman in the thumbnail who plays Catherine of Aragon is called "The Spanish Princess".
But the other series is called "The Tudors". Hope this helped you 😁
The best queen on the series The Tudors is Catherine of Aragon❤️❤️ who sufferd the most died a sorry, lonely and painful death I cried watching that scene of her death bed, loved by all( the people), loved God, a true believer of the faith and in God, mistreated by her sorry excuse of a man she loved seriously I never understood how she could still love Henry after all he did to her, after all the pain and tears he put her through, seperating her from her daughter for 4 and a half years.
Honestly I love Catherine of Aragon ❤️ she was a fighter, a good Queen and a good mother, forever in our heart's long live the QUEEN.
I’m glad they had Catherine look the way she does in the Spanish Princess. In a lot of shows/movies they depict her with dark hair and more Latina looking because she was from Spain but it’s been reported and in her portraits that she had fair skin and red hair
This is a masterpiece 👏
I loved how the video introduce Anne Boleyn 🧡
I love the way that they choose the actors and the dresses the decorations like... Every thing is totally similar to the reality ✨
I haven't even watched the tudors yet the one who left the most affect on me was Anne Boleyn. She just has that presence and was so iconic. Not that I know much but after watching the whole video, out of all the queens , I feel like Anne Boleyn died young yet lived a thousand years. Like a legacy. It's very sad honestly, I hope she at least had a chance to say goodbye to her daughter. Though the actress' acting is brilliant.
Love Queen Anne Boleyn 😭
Why? She acted like a bitch towards Catherine of Aragon.
@@elamplough1 Queen Anne Boleyn is not a prostitute
@@elamplough1 She didn't, the Truth was She had to leave her lover to go to Henrei and couldn't keep rejecting him any longer or else he would destroy her family. They all deserved better
@@elamplough1 To be honest the things that happened to Catherine because of Anne was bitchy but Anne wasn’t a bitch. She never intended to hurt anyone, it was her father using her as a political gain and she just happened to be good at it. She was a very strong, intelligent, witty woman and she gave birth to arguably one of England’s greatest monarchs. She changed history in so many ways and without her the world would be very different
I love that you used the version of Catherine of Aragon from The Spanish Princess!!!
Anne Boleyn is my favorite wife. She was an accomplished woman and a religious reformer. I have tremendous respect for Catherine of Aragon, Anne of Cleves, and Catherine Parr. Katherine Howard’s life was tragic. She was not a frivolous that has been portrayed on historical fiction. I did not care for Jane Seymour. She was not intelligent, and not a great beauty. Eustace Chapuys described her as such. He didn’t think she was a virgin. He liked her because of her kindness towards Mary. He also wanted the concubine, Anne Boleyn, out of court. He really hated her.
Do you like Queen Anne Boleyn?
@@bloodymary8906
Yes I do. I was 13 years old when I saw Anne of the Thousand days. She fascinated me. I read many books on Tudor history.
@@leticiagarcia9025 Me too, but I was younger than you ... I loved Queen Anne Boleyn and so far I love her so much, I don't hate any of Henry VIII's wives because they are all wronged, but Queen Anne Boleyn is the most unfair husband ... in the end her daughter became the greatest queen 👑 and won ~
@@bloodymary8906
All of his wives were admirable. I don’t think much about Jane Seymour. She knew Henry was going to execute Anne. The Seymours were grooming Jane to become queen. I don’t hate her. I felt bad for her during her last days of her life.
Elizabeth was Anne Boleyn’s greatest legacy
@@leticiagarcia9025 Yes, but I only hate Jane, but the rest of the wives are kind ... Jane is one of the reasons for the execution of Queen Anne Boleyn ... Yes, Queen Elizabeth I, the pride of Queen Anne Boleyn. ... a queen and daughter of a king and the daughter of a brave queen
"Forgive me but surely Lady Anne is worthy of every respect. She carries herself with great dignity and modesty, and desires nothing more than to please the king, her lord."
I love the transition between Charlotte Hope and Maria Kennedy, I could see Charlotte's Catherine turning into Mary's Catherine one day. Beautifully done.
Queen Anne Boleyn 😭
Anne of Cleves literally went on to become single and rich after her divorce. What a queen.
