Yeah I genuinely don't understand it . The m30 boycott seemed successful but there was no follow up so Hasbro isn't going to learn anytime soon
it's not really the same situation. DnD players had some type of subscription service that they were able to cancel en masse. Without that I highly doubt they would have as much leverage against Hasbro as they did. Mtg players don't have a subscription. Not buying bad products is all you can really expect from people, and for the most part that's what people do. Just because we don't have a handful of big time social media people going "OmG wE wOn!!!" on youtube doesn't mean the community's spending habits have zero effect on Hasbro lol

Rudy I'm not a magic player but over the last year I've been taking a ton of your advice. You should really start a motivation chanel to go alongside this. Investment in myself has really helped me rise above a ton of bad habits. I think you could help a ton of people it's a shame there aren't more people that are real in that space.

@@vengefulspirit99 Jelous and bitter that they didn't invest in themselves I wouldn't hesitate to guess. Blaming others for their own short comings. But it's Rudy's parents' fault for working hard to start a restaurant business, that's the reason this person is broke ofc!!! I don't think people realise how hard it actually is to make and run even just a single sucsessful restaurant on it's own!
You can be the richest person alive and not have what it takes to survive in that business. Not meaning to quote the rock, but it's about having the drive to be sucsessful at all costs. The only thing Rudy's parents did was teach Rudy how to be driven from a young age, taught him how to be calm in the face of adversity, and got him working in the restaurant business to learn this, one of the hardest businesses to be in out there tbh, even as a staff member.
You don't get to where Rudy is just from taking handouts. People like that hemorrhage money as they don't understand it's true value. That's one thing you can't accuse Rudy of for sure!
At this point Hasbro was expecting to be ravaging D&D so they might be turning back around to magic. I fully expect them to start revving up the infinite product overprinting device at the cocktail party

They could have serialized the concept praetor cards in this set. Would have been pretty sick!

Rudy thinking they are going to Short Print a major set is going to be his worst take of the year. Cox would personally fire and beat anyone responsible for short printing since he would view that as lost revenue and profit.
By short printing he's referring to the fact Wizards have employed 2000 dwarves to run the printers.
Ima be honest, I dont even play Magic, I just buy a Box sometimes when I really like the overall Artstyle of the Set and Phyrexia might be my favorite one yet :D

The special bundle for this set is where they are tickling are goblins and fondling are areas where the jimmy neutrons hide their used toys
The compleated bundles are cool and I will be getting one. Whether or not the lands will increase significantly in price is iffy making the compleated bundle ROI not as attractive. My APAC lands still only go for $25-$100, depending on the color pack. I would still go for the boosters. Unfortunately, competitive decks will decide the value of the boxes in the long run. There's some really powerful cards showing up in previews, so my inclination is this will be a good value set in general.
But did we really need 50 different Elesh Norn variants?🙄

I suspect serialised cards will return in the next set. If you think back to expeditions, they were in BFZ and OGW, then skipped SOI and EMN, before coming back as Masterpiece Inventions for KLD and AER, and Invocations for AMK and HOD. Wizards underestimated how successful they would be so it took some lead time to get them into new product. I guess they were testing the water in BRO, but too late to incorporate the data into ONE to meet printing timeframes.
There was a special D4 in Amonkhet.

I thought the same thing so I bought a retro nonserial amber mox foil. I'll probably regret it some day when the serialized is worth a fortune but it just doesn't sit right with me.

Dominaria lost legends was a joke. How many lost legend pulls were worth more than a buck very few. spent alot of money and only pulled 2 with a value of 1:35 combined

There haven't been more serialized cards because they have to print sets like a year or whatever in advance so they did not know yet that the Serialized cards were successful. Now that they see that Serialized cards are liked, expect the sets being designed now to have serialized.

All will be 69ed is going to be a super pushed product the likes of which I have not understood to be pushed since Eldraine. This set will go up. I'm certain. The problem is, is it going to be more beloved for the Standard, the Legacy, or the Collectables? Well, I'll be buying after the initial price goes down simply because... I'm trying to get some more DomRe, and some of the older items on the cusp of going out of print. Coming on the last chance for some of those, and I want my crack at em. As soon as I know if I have to make a big infrastructure purchase for my life or not, I can claim a position in something.
IMO Magic needs to cool their jets with all the variants of cards in sets. The new Elesh Norn Mother of Machines is swinging into life with 10 different vesions.. 10! Granted, the "Step-and-Complaet"-foil looks nice.. but do we really need 6 different artwork treatments for any card, in one and the same set? And if we do need so many.. WHY 10?! Everybody has been using 9-pocket binders and portoflios since the dawn of time.. Who decided to just neglect that and say, you know what. we need to make this an absolute nightmare for collectors and make variants in such a way it becomes unmanageable.

There are 14 cards total i want for competative decks, i think the value on ONE will be pretty poor in the long term outside of niche card treatments of specific cards.
BRO top card currently is portal to phyrexia, i don't think Norn competes with Sheoldred in 60 card formats but will hold value for commander. Outside of what looks like a niche toxic deck for standard there aren't many pieces that ONE adds to the card pool other than for commander (again).
Normally i only buy 6 prerelease kits, i'm going to add a compleat bundle to that order. I also won our local win-a-box, other than a bit of draft i don't think i'll be buying more ONE than i've already committed to, don't see any real value 2 weeks after prerelease for the majority of the set.
there will be serialized cards around 1 year after brothers war release, like you often say, they are a slow moving goliath
Serialized must've been a test and will be put into effect immediately, only we won't see it for a couple years because of how their system works

They work years ahead usually. They probably printed, ONE last year. So when they found out serialized cards were a hit in BRO they are probably prepping and printing cards for next year at this point. So maybe from Q4/23 onward (at the earliest) we'll see more serialized cards.

Imagine how much of a dumpster fire the sealed prices for BRO collectors boxes would be without those serialized cards. ONE has to have like, 7 different ultra special foil rare treatments just to hold at release without serialized cards.
Even with that I don't get how they get away with charging $200-300 for 12 packs. It's absurd. Imagine if Pokemon tried that 😂
The only non-D20 I know of was the 30 sider from the Magic 30 Countdown kit.
And I was saying it when the neon ink cards came into play. Making people buy more of certain parts of sets. Collector boxes, set boxes.... Stop buying magic until they start making quality product

I could care less about the serialized cards. The Legends chase cards in Dominaria United was a joke. It's just a ploy by Wizards to get you to buy more collector boxes. This is the main reason Wizards does not give you much value in their booster boxes because they want you to keep buying more. I just cannot trust Wizards anymore so I just wait awhile and buy some singles. Amazon has a couple of Pump & Dumps every year. NOTHING IS UNIQUE in Magic anymore. If I lose out by not buying a collectors box, so what! I can still play commander and buy and make my own proxies. Don't forget there will be at least two more price increases this year.

Recession canceled? Buy every magic product. Where did the old rudy go? Not every product is for you! They told you, and they told you these sets are print to demand. Buying on any other belief is just bad risk management if you are investing.
