I have the Panny 9000 in my family room. It is great! J have the Oppo-103 D in my bedroom. I wish I would have checked if it played 4K on not. I heard so many great things about the Panny 820 I ordered one. The disc wouldn’t load! I sent it back to Amazon and they credited my acct. my wife said why don’t u get another Panny 9000, and I went with it . I’m glad I did. No problems what so ever! Great pic and sound! I like HDR better than Dolby! Cheers! 0:30
I don't understand the hate on the way the UB820 looks tbh, i have mine on an av unit which is made of that black glass so it matches it looks great. Also i never touch it, i use the remote to power on and off and eject and close the disc tray. I have always used dvd players that way. BTW i agree on the remote i bought the back lit one as well 👍
They’re both the same other than the XLR out and the dac if you’re playing music. The ub9000 can’t play certain high end CD’s so it’s usually to have the dac feature. 9000 seemed like a scam so I got the 820.
I just ordered this same replacement remote for my ub820. I truly hate my baby remote . It sucks. Thanks for this information as well. My remote will be here on Wednesday. I’d love to own the 9000 player, but don’t have a justifiable home theater set up. My 820 suites my needs .
There's no difference in video quality it's the same components. You pay extra for the 9000 for the build quality and much superior audio components. 👍😎
I mainly got the UB9000 over its slight edge on upscaling. ChatGPT says: Upscaling Quality: The UB9000 is equipped with Panasonic's most advanced video processing technology, offering superior upscaling of non-4K content. It features a high-performance 4K High Precision Chroma Processor, which helps produce sharper, more detailed images, especially when upscaling from 1080p (Full HD) to 4K.
good to know as i have the same sony 700 but was looking at upgrading if the Panny 820 was better PQ. My biggest issue with the 700 is that it is starting to act up on starting to play a disc.
At the end of the day, at twice the cost dose not translate into twice the picture quality. So diminishing retuns will prove the 820 as the better player ❤
Build quality,THX certification, isolation from vibrations,XLR connections just a few reasons why the 9000 cost more.Plus it simply looks so much better in a home theater.I love my 9000.Also uses a different disc tray.
Great video ..I can’t tell any difference between the 2 . For me I think the 820 is just as good .. but the 9000 maybe built better and last a bit longer.. but who knows….
I also have Pan 420 it's beautiful 4k player it upscale dvd to 4k my JVC 4K projector doesn't support dolby vision plus newer projector this days doesn't support dolby vision anyway. High performance projector like Barco and Christie or JVC costing $50,000 to 100,000 don't carry dolby vision.
@@myhometheater7029 I'm a big fan of it - although, Jurassic Park Dominion is a disc where I think the 4K version is preferable to the 3D Blu-ray, not a particularly good 3D conversion on that movie.
Maybe there’s an issue with your 820? Two playback issues in a week seems like a lot. If it was an open box unit maybe that’s why it was returned? Next time should definitely get into a media player. I think it would be a slam dunk for you except for the fact that the idea of ripping your collection makes me want to cry. Dudes got a lot of discs. But once it was done you’d have one hell of a movie library.
I bought the 9000 after having the 820 for one night - for the $500 we paid for the 820, I just felt like it wasn't worth it. The all-plastic chassis, the ridiculously cheesy non-lit remote, the cringey half-shelf depth....it just didn't warrant a $500 asking price, IMO. While the 9000 is overkill for most, and it certainly is for us, I just appreciate the looks, feel and overall build of the unit. Mine has been back for repair once already though, for discs freezing up and the disc tray getting noisy. They replaced the whole drive, but it wasn't cheap because it was out of warranty.
From what I have read there is really little to no difference in PQ and Audio with a $350 or $1000 4k player. The difference are all in build quality and features.
Hi I can definitely tell a difference. The Panasonic DP-UB9000 Blu-ray player has more Detail and the picture quality definitely is more clearer then the Panasonic DP-UB820 4K Blu-ray player. Those are the only difference that I can see. I watched your video thru my phone but couldn't tell a difference. But then I watched it thru my TV and I can immediately tell a difference

I got the un820 in the UK for 299 in sale and I am very happy with the HDR it sits on top of my oppo 203 easily.
Bought the 820 to give it a shot. Feels blue Ray has a few years before it’s gone.

A $600k home cinema in Sydney/Australia which won a rewards due to its high quality setup, uses a UB820. That tells you a lot.

Never had an issue with my 820. I’ve owned it about 2 years now
The UB820 is still a large bulky heavy player. It just looks small in comparison to the UB9000.

Its actually a lot more in Australia, current best price I could find the 820 model is $580 and the cheapest I could get the 9000 model is $1,800 AUD
maybe u have bionic êtes lol the feature for vidéo are the same...exactly the samedi from 820 to 9000...
