I am not far off in the same boat but looking at a 2012 suburban z71. I have had a shockingly difficult time finding good videos on these late model rigs.
I’m blown away by everything. The truck. The mods. The narration. The videos. Absolutely phenomenal. I feel smarter just for listening to you. I’m sold man. Cannot wait for the next update!!! -14 PPV owner.
I’ve had my 2011 Tahoe for a long time and have put over 350k on it and I still love it to this day. Such an amazing and underrated truck. It’s cool to see someone giving this generation the credit that it deserves!
@@1offgarage It came factory with a rear sway bar (hollow 28mm) and no modifications were needed so it was a fairly easy swap besides the weight of the new one.
@@drate100 What heads do you have? I got lucky and have 799 heads from factory so I don't need to do anything but cam & long tubes to get some good N/A power.
Love your video my dude 😎 I have 2012 LT Tahoe I have put 295k on it and still love it seeing you made me love it even more !! I like your enthusiasm and modifying of the Tahoe So I can do it my self to my car can't wait to see your next Mods to the car !! 😁
I was in the Chrysler 300 Hemi C when y'all were swanging out of the car wash. (Stopped at the light to ask for the channel name) If you have any footage of me cutting up I would love to see it. 💪🏾
Glad you found us! All the footage of that slide is in the intro of this video, as soon as we left the light we went to a different location. Glad you had some fun with us!
If it were me, I would've put the 16 inch PPV brakes on. They have so much better heat dissipation and better braking leverage. You'll need 20 inch rims for them to fit, but it's totally worth it. Good chance to put some wider tires and a 2-3 inch lift. I'm planning to throw on some Michelin defender 295/65r20s on mine with a 3 inch lift. I'll loose some of the brake leverage, but they won't overpower the skinner tires as much, so stopping should be way better with a smoother ride. After that I'll regear the axles to 4.10, plus some really thick sway bars, a high stall converter, and a supercharger. I've got a 2007 6.2 6 speed escalade, it'll be a beast!
Yup! heads, manifold, cam, & long tubes to start. Boost will come later, likely through turbo for the efficiency & in this truck chassis we have plenty of room to fab the turbos ip however we'd like. A consistent E85 daily is tough here because the nearest station is over 1hr away. However because it already had the e85 sensor I will likely have it tuned for both 91/93oct pump & e85 and the sensor will be able to make the tune a sliding scale based on ethanol content!
I remove my hood on my Trucks when dune banishing the sand dunes and I also have to tell everyone there is no over heating problems just preventing heat soak power loss.
looking at doing the muffler.. is there a reason you chose this over like a flowmaster or magnaflow? just did the same powerstops and they are a huge upgrade.. went with bilsteins but did not know about these.. love the build!
@@1offgarage thanks for getting back -- now that I understand the difference, definitely leaning towards the vibrant / magnaflow -- would like to do your CAI as well.
@@1offgarage awesome, thanks! actually just got the CAI today and the new PredatorX tuner from Diablo... hopefully will be installing tomorrow, and then planning on doing the 93 tune as well. there's not a lot of info on the new tuner, so hopefully goes well. will do the exhaust next week. your video really resonated with me as I did the exact same brakes which are indeed awesome, so I'm following your lead on this other stuff -- really appreciate you making this video!
fyi, installed the CAI and 93 tune & DOD delete with the new predatorX tuner, about 2 hrs total. very noticeable improvement in performance but most notably in engine sound…. didn’t expect it to sound so much better! induction noise with throttle is awesome. the CAI kit is really high quality with simple install. can’t wait to get the exhaust done next week 👍 mine is a 2013 tahoe z71
Forgive my ignorance here, just picked up a new (to me) 2013 Tahoe LTZ and the rear struts are seeping/need replacement. For the Rear Eibach's in your setup: Did you have to incorporate a workaround for the MagnaRide Sensors?
Maybe a rare handful, but it there were it was in so little numbers you cant even filter for it on CarGurus. You can get the 6.0L... but that's in the Hybrid which is a problem child due to the early technology Grab a Yukon or Escalade for the 6.2L
I believe the suspension is a little more expensive due to the auto ride leveling, but yes. Now your motor should be a 6.2L in an Escalade instead of the 5.3L like my Tahoe. That 6.2L is not only larger but also has much better breathing heads. So with a cam & long tubes you could make it a very formidable vehicle for a great price. Same 6L80 transmission like mine & if it's a 4x4 it's actually a full time AWD system designed mostly for street grip that is known to be pretty strong. So basically yes, just be sure to source the correct parts as not everything on my list will work for you, but some will.
Probably a quick spooling Twin Turbo setup for 8-12lb of boost. But it's tough to decide. Turbo will give me better power through the entire torque band & be more efficient. But a Supercharger would be much easier and possibly cheaper to order & install using a kit.
@@1offgarage good looking out. Bout four years go I picked up n 02 from a friend which needed brake lines so we did them all and it has been the most dependable car I’ve ever owned. Being a chicago car she’s rusty. He vent will be for a rusty fender on the passenger side.
As a 2013 Tahoe LTZ owner, I must say this is the best video on TH-cam about GMT 900 Tahoe.
We appreciate that! We have another video on this same Tahoe you'd probably like as well!
Your first video about this Tahoe influenced my decision to get my own 2014 Z71 and I love it
Awesome! Hopefully I can help you pick out some tasteful mods to make it more enjoyable & stretch the life of your Tahoe!

Great to hear! 350k is no joke! Is that all the original power train?
I truly believe this generation will go down as the last truly loved generation of gmt by gm
Thank God I ran into this video!! Was trying to decide between an expedition and a Tahoe but your video made me picture myself driven my own Tahoe🎉
There are a few reliable years of the Expedition, but none seem to touch the Tahoe as far as powertrain reliability 👍
I have a 04 Tahoe and also didn't like the body-roll, so I put on a solid 33mm rear sway bar and now I love the way it handles.
Did yours have a factory anti-roll bar or did you have to buy the full mounting hardware conversion kit?

Flowmaster has baffles or chambers, causing resistance & turbulence. Magnaflow is very similar to this Vibrant but at about double the cost.

wow
just needs some CID heads, Truck norris cam, and a LSA supercharger
Truck Norris was my pick too! Richard Holdner has proven time & time again that is an excellent cam for the entire rpm band
best mod I did with my towing Ls swapped obs
also add a Tru-cool 40k trans cooler

Mine does not have MagnaRide or auto leveling.
Simple coil springs & shocks. However there are shocks specifically for the auto leveling system.
Wish they came with the 6.2, i believe they did with some of the ltz in 08-09

When do they do track days at eagle. I'm an hour away from there
I'm actually at their dirt track as I write this comment for the Texas Truck Rodeo lol. But their full schedule & pricing is on their website.
Put the ls9 camshaft if your going to boost it
Truck Norris or Low Buck Truck is on the menu
@@1offgarage idk nothing about those cams lol I was going to boost mine so I threw the LS9 cam in it since it’s boost ready
Supercharge or turbo 🤔
Probably a quick spooling Twin Turbo setup for 8-12lb of boost.
But it's tough to decide. Turbo will give me better power through the entire torque band & be more efficient. But a Supercharger would be much easier and possibly cheaper to order & install using a kit.
How did you hook up your phone to the oem radio?
There is a USB port in the center console.
It treats it like an iPod
where those hood louvers from!
TrackSpec 4"x12" small angled louvers.
