I love these kind of reviews. Great job, as always. But I have a suggestion. I understand why reviewers usually review the top trim levels to show off all the bells and whistles. But it would be nice to also include the base price in the pricing section. Some people look at these kinds of videos as potential buyers, and the top trims kind of skew the prices and gives a somewhat unrealistic picture, you know? Just a thought. Still... great video.
@@CarConfectionsany notes on the 2025 traverse body change? Looks slightly shorter than it’s predecessors. Wondering if they shrunk the rear cargo space a bit.
Notice the happy chuckle both times he floors it in the Tahoe that is absent when he does it in the Traverse? That's what the premium in price really gets you, 6.2L V8 alone makes it worth it to me.

Tahoe for sure. The Traverse is only a smidge smaller, does have better maneuverabilty, and obviously less costly(its loaded where the Tahoe starts). BUT: The Tahoe's powertrain choices(LZO diesel for me!), far better executed interior in terms of design and quality, hauling/towing, and resale value(over the Traverse) is a no brainer. If Chevy/GMC finds a way to polish the powertrain/add power, it would be closer in the running for me.
I’ve put 200k+ miles on each of my v8 Yukons and Suburbans, but damn the new ones are expensive. If the Traverse (or stablemates) had a v6 I would have one already, but with the 4-cylinder I’m still on the sideline waiting to see what happens and may lease to further insulate. I do want SuperCruise so I’ll have to watch my mileage!
The prior gen was a 3.7L V6… didn’t really change the body shape but went with the 2.5L Turbo 4 for emissions/government regulations. Allows them to still build the big V8’s for the bigger trucks/SUV’s
I own both of this and Suburban in my rental fleet. Surprisingly Traverse is much more comfortable for long trips. The real cons for Traverse are weak towing.
You guys nailed it with this one. I love the look of the exterior on the traverse, but the interior is cheap looking with the seats and plastic red. The Tahoe looks like a police car but the inside is nice and gives me the space I need.
I'm picking up a RST this week but I can't decided if the RST capability Package for $2,550 is worth it??? That package provides Magnetic Ride Control, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, Power-sliding center console. However for that package you must add the $1,500 Panoramic power sunroof plus the $370 Power second row bucket seats, that's a total $4,420 to the MSRP. The car is for my wife and three little ones, and essentially I can save the money with a 2nd row bench, no moon roof and the standard suspension. We found our 2022 Suburban wasn't the smoothest ride and I'm sure the shorter wheel base in the 2025 Tahoe will help. You mentioned a revised suspension, so really I don't care about the moon roof or 2nd row buckets, so I'd basically be paying $4,420 for a upgraded suspension, GUYS IS THAT MAGNETIC RIDE CONTROL AND ADAPTIVE AIR RIDE THAT MUCH OF AN IMPORVEMENT TO SPEND $4,420? It is a mater of your need. If you do not need to tow anything, do not tote 6 or more passengers, the Traverse is hands down the winner as it comes to price, fuel mileage. In my high country suburban, i have the 3.0 diesel .. that gets as good fuel mileage as the traverse. (25/27 round town and 30/35 mpg highway) The suburban with the air ride and magnetic ride control is amazing BUT if you do not need to tow and aren’t ushering around 6 people or more regularly, paying $98k is wasteful. Our out the door price for my traverse was around $62K. The Suburban, $92k Another important note.. if you are considering the Tahoe, the space isn’t enough to spend the money on.. if you are are towing, or a road warrior with a family, BUY THE SUBURBAN you’ll thank me …. The traverse is awesome but the suburban is a game changer with the cargo space, esp if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or people.
