It's complicated at first but comes easy with some time. We have a lot of new player corps and communities who are always recruiting.
Brave Newbies, Pandemic Horde, and Karmafleet are all large options. Smaller ones exist all over the place also. If you ever want to give it a shot, my own corp Bovril is always open too. :)
I don't play anymore, but indeed : find a newbro corporation (guild) and they will teach you. That's the best way to get into the game. Not only is it easier to start, but you learn much faster. Most older players will have the funds to give you ships and items you may require too. Just for your gaming culture you have to try it for a bit.

Everytime this ad showed up I just didnt skip it. First time I saw this was like a year or two ago, and I randomly remembered it today so I searched it up to watch it again. The music, visuals, the female voiceover and the simplicity of it (in contrast to the extreme complexity of the game) are cinematically stunning to me.
And I still I haven't given it a try not because I know I'll be turned off by the complexity, but because I'm not a gamer 🤣

the game does not require you to be smart at all, it requires patience and determination in most cases. just because you may not be smart, doesn't mean you can't learn the game. at first it may seem messy and scary, but it's actually quite forgiving if you are good and polite. people are glad to help newcomers and people who come back. it may take some learning, that i can agree with, but it's not as hard as people say.

Reading the stories about this game is far more entertaining than actually playing it, it's extremely dull.
That’s not true. I play probably 5 hours a week and still have a blast and do what I enjoy in the game. Still okay plenty of other games too. Just don’t join a mega hardcore alliance or try to run a corporation… any game can be a job or casual. Skills train while you’re offline so you don’t even fall behind if you don’t play.
EVE is a game in which EVERY proper gamer should try for at least 3-6 months at least once in their lifes.

Can you actually fly a ship sitting in a cockpit? I mean like in a flight simulator or ED, SC etc.? All I ever see in videos is 3rd person view-scenes of battles etc.

Just passed my official ten years in EvE a few days ago. This is my second life, and yes, I have a healthy real life, gym and fitness, work which I am very successful in, relationships, you name it. But I love this universe so much, it's such a part of my life that I make time for it nearly every day.
I am a member of a major Coalition and experienced combat pilot. You HAVE to find others to fly with to be truely successful in this game. EvE is a community, that's what makes it so powerful.

Gamers having problems finding love is one of the most unrealistic stereotypes the has ever been tossed around. In fact i have noticed (of the friends i have who are in a relationship with a fellow gamer) that their connections are stronger and more true than the superficiality of what would be a "normal" relation haha

What is not well covered in this video is more about “the community”. While outsiders see it as toxic in-game, it is actually a very kind and generous group of players out-of-game. We have donated to international charities, including Children’s hospitals. We often get together and ‘drink with our enemies’ at player gatherings. We even have a very active anti-suicide movement (B4R) where players can discuss life’s issues without being trolled. The players help the company shape the game in ways the company CCP could not have planned alone. Also, we have crowd sourced science for biology cells, and doing real world science in exoplanet identification! Yes, we will blow up your stuff in game, but out of game we are here for you. Stay alive, so we can kill you in-game!! #spacepope

@DeviouS What are you talking about? I've been gifted free things multiple times by EVE players, without me asking or anything else prompting them. Conversations are also generally much more friendly and intelligent than those I had in other games. GW2 in particular is generally perceived as having a friendly community but I found it super toxic and immature.
I played this at release in 2003. I've been back in and burned myself at least 3 times since, swearing never to come back again. And yet, watching this, I feel an itch that has never quite gone away.
No one ever quits EVE - we just take breaks. haha

Eve. It's not for everyone, but for me the fact that losses are real and you're free to largely do what you want and explore your own story make it the best game I've ever played. Nothing else comes close now.

Been playing this game off and on for 10 years now. Hard to believe! I still play games with and have even met a few times in person with a guy I met in my first Corp a week into the game. EVE is truly unique and something everyone should experience. Just remember, it’s a social game and the players make the content so if you don’t do anything then nothing happens and you won’t enjoy the game. Get out there and mingle! Don’t be afraid to ask questions!
and don't be afraid to fight, you might lose most of your first battles, but you'll get better at selecting targets and ofc your toon will also grow in skills, but when you kill all the time without dying yourself, pvp can get boring...but luckily it takes years to reach that level of gud.
What do you recommend for a new trader ( I would like to specialize in that)?

@@NcrXnbi I never got too far into trading honestly. I mostly used industrial ships and cargo freighters to move my own stashes of items around. There are a ton of videos about it on TH-cam though if you just search for it.
@@waynehieatt5962 It takes years to reach that level of "gud" because you are waiting on a countdown timer the entire time. People joke about EVE being a spreadsheet simulator, but it's also a stopwatch simulator.
@@phillipnunya6793 yeah the alpha (f2p) clones training queue is limited to 24hrs, so you have to set your alarm if you don't want any gaps in your training. But the subscriber omega clones have unlimited time, but a limit of 50 skills (I've had mine up to over 400 days). It certainly takes years to train your toon to git gud, but also takes years of experience to git yourself gud too. That;s one of the unique things about eve, and why we are long term players. Met a guy the other day who's toon was born in 2003, and he's been playing daily every since (and he was gooood, luckily he was on my side).

EVE Online is the only videogame where actions have consequences. Where your decisions matter. Where the friends and enemies you make, and the path you choose, will determine the rewards... and punishments... you'll receive for days, weeks, and even years to follow.
New Eden is a place where every player has a story. Not the story some character creation engine gives you. A real story that has defined parts of the EVE Universe. You will meet merciless killers, reformed drug lords, spies, rescue scouts, long-haul truckers and people who just enjoy a good fight every now and then. And with time, you can be any or all of those people.
When I started EVE Online, I was a nobody like everyone else. I took my starter frigate into deep space, avoiding powerful players and praying I would make each jump home safely. I scrounged for loot in far-flung space where I was not welcome, and saved pennies until I could afford to pursue my dream of flying covert ops ships.
Today, I am the CEO of the largest covert ops corporation in EVE Online, WINGSPAN Delivery Services. Hundreds of like-minded players have come together under this corp to silently venture into unknown space, uncloak on unsuspecting pilots, and maybe live to try it again the next day. It's honestly a blast!
If you're thinking about playing EVE Online, don't worry about how hard you've heard it is. Don't worry about what other people tell you can and can't be done. You'll define your own story. And if you're willing to aim high enough... or sink low enough... you'll go far.
WINGSPAN TT can confirm wingspan is a great corp if you need hundreds of torpedos delivered straight into your ships hull =p

This sounds fascinating but feels like this will be even harder than real life. For me, the whole purpose of gaming is to escape from reality for a once to get relaxed. This amount of complexity hinders that 'simple fun'. Yet I highly admire this game and the community.

No hyped up footage, just real game play footage... No false claims.
The trailer makes the game feel much more exciting and engaging than it actually is, I understand it is important to try and lure every possible customer in with hopes of them sticking, but seriously I would never call these EVE trailers accurate to what you actually end up experiencing in game.
@@cally2984 I didn't necessarily say experiencing, I said expecting. Of course, these expectations shown in the trailer have a bit have a bit of best-case-scenario/ silver-lining thrown on to them compared to what the average gamer will really experience, but they're not wrong.

Worked making spreadsheets for a few years, only once I made one for Eve just to learn how to connect to the API, never really needed to again, besides there are plenty of free 3rd party tools made by others

You need to figure out how to incentivize large coalitions to break up and fight each other. Otherwise you just can't build past the point of being noticed. Too many high level strategic assets are held by powers who are comfortable and bored.

Ive wanted to get into EVE ever since my friend played it and participated in that one huge battle everyone is fussing about. Watching it live was a lot more exciting than any other game stream ive seen, or any game ive seen him play
The only times where I actually got interested by the Ad, Seeing the comment section briefly seems like It's an old game (crazy how I've never heard of it, and I like Space theme things) I want to try the game after seeing the Ad and this Trailer now.
Though, People seems to suggest how convoluted the game is (and also having to spend some time on it) so I'm not sure if I'm going to stay playing this game But, I'll give it a try and see it for Myself.
Also gotta say, the Trailer and Ad was fantastic to see and watch. And while also liking Space themed things, it was one of the best thing I see for a while. Props to You and the people behind it. Love every bits and moments of it.

for new players, i suggest doing the 5 tutorial mission/agents then aim for the "magic 14 skills" and get ultra rich so you'll have purpose playing, how you get there will be up to you, do missions, fight, trade, industry, resource gathering, or ask for ist(isk).
Eve is massive so take it slowly, start small. learn inch by inch and youll start to like to the point that you cant get enough of it.
play with friends or solo, do whatever playstyle you want whether its zen spreadsheet monitoring or hardcore excel quantum calculus.

Rishikesh Ramjith I am capable of paying for all 3 of my my accounts in 4 and a half days worth of in game currency. It took a bit of work to get that far but it pays off. It also depends on you as a pilot and what you do and who you know or who you join.

There’s just nothing else out there quite like EVE, and much of that comes down to the people. The single-shard sandbox environment has fostered a unique communal web of relationships that is always evolving. What one person does in EVE can potentially affect hundreds or even thousands of others at some point, simply due to the nature of the sandbox. You just cannot get this in other MMOs that separate players into multiple shards. In EVE we are all connected.
