The Avatar is one of the few Titan-class vessels in EVE Online and the most popular amongst all of them. But why do players choose to fly this giant despite its tremendous cost?

One issue with ships in EVE is that it's quite difficult to give a sense of scale: the ships are much bigger than we sense them to be. Maybe it's because they are controlled by only one capsuleer (I haven't seen much lore on whether the ships are crewed or not but ot doesn't matter because the capsuleers are the only visible ones). For example, it's easy to see the Enterprise-D as a large ship yet it's slightly smaller than the Drake. The Apocalypse is the same size as the Star Wars Star Destroyer and the little Tristan is bigger than the Millennium Falcon.

I have no ambitions to fly a Titan, even after 19 years in the game, but can appreciate those who do and this is Eve inspirational promotion at its finest. Yes, there's a fine line between promotion and propaganda but I think (biased though I may be) that this falls on the right side. As any Eve pilot will tell you ''Who gives a f**k what anyone else thinks anyway?''
