As an engineer and nerd, the containers were fascinating lol. For the containers, I'm fairly certain it's just a generic "space fuel", perhaps kerosene or propane with some additive to make it more reactive for some space reason. They are mounted to the yellow cages, which seem to have some holes to make it easy for crane use and to be moved. So, highly mobile, highly reactive, fuel tanks to support whatever purposes are needed. The ones by the airbase might lean it towards jet fuel, but less likely as they'd wanna have larger dedicated tanks like the ones you saw at repulsor. (Btw, 99% sure those large spherical tanks are just fuel tanks -- the hum could be a pump to move the fuel, keep it pressurized, or to keep it refrigerated -- as the sphere maximizes volume while minimizing surface area. Great for min/maxing storage space. Also great for pressurized gasses/liquids since there are no corners that would undergo extra stress and become a weak point.) Back to the space propane. Since they're everywhere, and attached to buildings it's likely that they aren't jet fuel, but truly a generic power fuel. They might be by the airbases as they're probably needed a lot in resupply, so maybe they just keep them on hand to load the next jet to resupply some base/outpost/drop off emergency power. They buildings likely use them for heating/power. Also, since they're an oxidizer, you don't even need oxygen to burn it which may be very useful for alien worlds and in space. As for the fire diamond, that's where we can take some creative liberty. The hazard and flammability make sense, but the reactivity being so high is the biggest thorn in this theory. However, it's the space age with future technology. Obviously, these containers being so reactive is a major safety risk, especially in a war zone. So, there needs to be a reason for them to take that risk. My theory is that there's some space additive to this space kerosene that either makes it much more energy dense, or far more compressible than our basic Earth kerosene. Both of these would increase the energy capacity of these tanks, and would likely be worth the explosive risk. While it's dangerous to have around, and presents a vulnerability in the base, it has to be a huge energy increase. I can easily see how a fuel tank with 5-10x the energy density of a normal one is considered worth it, because one highly explosive resupply mission into a warzone is much safer than having to do 10 resupply missions to get the same amount of supplies. Plus, you don't have to worry about also transporting oxygen if it's in space or an alien world, which may already be a stressed resource as the crew needs that to survive. Tldr: Space kerosene with an additive to make it more energy dense, and so that it doesn't require oxygen and can be used in any environment.
@@Apater6076 I think it is, plus probably for a lot of the underground stuff. I think realistically it's probably worth it to hook up everything to that, but I imagine there's in universe reasons they don't. Maybe the military likes the independence and resilience that small micro grids have (esp if you could use that fuel for vehicles. For reference, the M1 Abrams is able to run on like 3 different types of fuel for versatility.) Or maybe the distances are scaled down for the game, but in universe things are actually miles apart and not logistically worth connecting.
You have no idea how much your type of content is needed in the apex community. I've always wondered why apex content creators were so dry, and only focused on dropping 20 bombs. And I realized that that's the reason why, everyone is just so focused on getting high kill games, and forget to have fun. So I really appreciate when people take their time to make videos like this. So thanks 🙏

16:52 Not to be a huge nerd but to absolutely be a huge nerd here It is completely possible for the dead creature in skulltown to be a different version of a leviathan. The flyers, leviathans and prowlers we see on multiple different planets are invasive. You can see how theyve evolved differently on different planets depending on how you’re looking at them- for example, the prowlers of Typhon have moveable head appendages, where Talos prowlers have one fused head crest. Context clues tell us they all presumably come from the planet Leviathan, named after the same megafauna. Look at the skull here- Flat teeth. Usually flat teeth indicate grinding down tough plant material. However, seen in the season 2 launch trailer, our modern Leviathan friends have sharp, pointed teeth which would be used for tearing meat. Presumably, there aren’t any other megafauna capable of a skeleton this size- (that we know of) on Solace. So its either one of two things. 1. A long dead, herbivore ancestor of our modern leviathans. 2. A now extinct type of Megafauna that once lived on Solace. While personally I believe its A, (especially since its shown how fast Prowlers have been able to evolve and adapt to their new planets), its up to interpretation! Go theory wild!

Apex has always had fantastic environmental storytelling. There's the big grandiose events like parts of Kings Canyon getting blown up and the aftermath but there's so many more subtle details as well. Like in Cryptos's Map Room you can find the Korean flag or how in Bloodhound's area you can interact with some of the trophies in there and BH has unique dialogue for each of them. Much of this is probably lost on most of the player base.
And this is because of the passion the original dev team used to put on the game, as Apex Legends is an extention of Titanfall. As almost all of them have left the company, I'm afraid such nuances will be lost. Those guys created TF out of nothing, they sure knew how to make a game.
Just like Ubisoft with rainbow six Siege, respawn is running Apex for pro leagues. They used to put their heart in the game to gain the heart of players, but apparently pro players and cheaters conquered respawn's heart
@@hyspecs7906 Honestly, I don't agree so much because I find that the remaining developers still do a passionate job, without however disrespecting those who came before them.
That last part about empty multiplayer maps really hit me. It's similar to the feeling I get when I revisit an old Minecraft multiplayer world my friends used to play on. Empty blocky buildings that remind us of a time when we explored, mined, and just hung out. I hope that someday long after we've moved on from Apex (or other multiplayer games), VR gets to a point where it enables us to revisit and walk around the maps we used to play on. These places can represent so many different things in so many people's lives and it would be quite an experience to revisit them in the future. I've moved on from Apex and while it's not that long ago, these maps remind me of a time when playing games was one of the only ways to reconnect with friends and meet new ones. These maps were an escape from a harsh time when everyone was locked indoors. I'd like to be reminded of the comfort these maps brought me during those times. I feel sad knowing that these experiences are all just temporary. I hope you consider making this kind of video for all the Apex maps. This was so nostalgic for me and every other minute I kept being reminded of random Apex shenanigans I experienced with my friends. I'd love to experience that again for other maps. But hey, that's just a suggestion. You've earned yourself a subscriber.
Back in season 5, there was a map somewhere that showed that KC is littered with underground facilities. Most notably under the dam and surrounding, and yes, even the Interstellar Relay. I’d also like to add that the reason there’s a lot of houses that look alike and why they use the same type of chemical in military bases and normal houses is that everything in this universe is made en masse. Exact copies because there’s a LOT of humans to provide to
This was so good to watch. Being able to slow down and appreciate the stories told by the placement of assets is such a cool detail by respawns map designers
Dude, I've been exploring each map every time they release a new one, it's so much fun, and I find myself wishing I could just stop the ring and just chill and explore sometimes! Great video, I'd love to see you do the other maps

The last one was in the season 5 story mission, at the end of slum lakes was a entrance that lead to the Forgotten Tomb, similar to the other bunkers, this one was much more over grown and overflowing and held ashes body. The entrance is far from where ash’s body was held, back then I tried to trace the path underground from the surface and it led somewhere in the direction of the entrance to the pit, or was directly under it. considering its high explosive rating of the gasses marked everywhere and the fact this is a fictional gas, i want to take the creative responsibility to say it could function as a "gas form of gunpowder" which might be more efficient on making things go boom, even in small, packful packages, this *could* be why the wingman, a powerful pistol, used heavy ammo at the release of the game, as it could be a factor of being able to use gasses for the benefit of a smaller bullet in question (now sniper, but an adjacent idea applies) that still leaves the question of how long does this gas function for, and what exactly would that imply otherwise (such as the details of the gun, i wouldnt know if anything visually supports my idea here) this also makes sense for many energy weapons potentially, but again this idea is up in the air
As someone who used to love exploring maps to find the little things developers left in them, as well as doing my own map design over the years, this was such a fun video to see.
I truly love videos like these and I'm glad that you have done this, I love absolutely everything about it because i always thought "why" whenever I see something in a map of a game lol
I've done the level map design present in this game such a great disservice by not bothering to notice all the things you went out of your way to point out. Thank you.
This entire video was fascinating and really did highlight how much thought the creators of that first map put into so many minut details. Thanks so much for making this! I would ADORE seeing you break down more maps/areas in apex! It would be especially neat to see non BR maps highlighted in maybe smaller videos, like Arena's or TDM maps!
Thank god i found this video and it's sequel bc the map design was my favourite part of Apex when i played it from season 1 to season 21 before moving on. Love all the details highlighted in this :D
Apex will always live in my heart as one of the best times I ever had gaming. I haven’t played in a while but this made me really appreciate the time I spent playing. Might revisit just to give it a solid goodbye before the inevitable.
I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to see someone look so in depth of something that is extremely overlooked by the baseline of players, please please PLEASE do these for the other maps!
I'm so happy someone did this kind of video on Kings Canyon! I absolutely love this place, it's like a second home for me. The memories i have with this place are priceless and so valuable! I didn't played with anyone, but just the feeling it gave me, the views, i loved and still do everything about it. Thank you for this
Since Apex Lore content has been made irrelevant by Respawn, I'm so glad to have discovered your channel. I don't play the game anymore but it still makes me happy when someone observes the details like these.
im in love with the apex map design, please do more of that. the chemical could be one they found on an alien planet and thus not known to us or sth like that
this is hands down the best apex youtube channel and im glad i stumbled across it. now i can still enjoy the game without actually playing it 👍 great humor, great production, very informative. keep it up!
Yes but the socioeconomic structure and logistics of necessities of kings canyon? There certainly is "good" and "bad" housing, but what are the one-room huts for? Are there human waste disposal systems? Also I am interested in carpentry and architechture of the apartments - For example, why did the builder see necessary to add a little closed balcony on the house at 20:14 . Many of the houses seem to lack plumbing and proper solid facilities
This video reminded me that it’s important to take a step back and appreciate the things around you. The amount of thought and care that must have went into the designs of each map is more than I can fathom. We’re constantly in this mindset of consuming that we don’t even realize we’re playing on art.
Heck yeah I love analysis videos like these and I never really see one about Apex. Looking forward to the other maps analyses~ I also hope the devs sees this video
pleaaase make more videos like these, specially of the newer maps! this was so lovely! i normally do stop around and look at those tiny details in maps but you definitely brought stuff i hadn't thought of, well in part because i began playing on S10, so KC was already very very different, but i'd love to see this approach on the newer ones, specially E-District!
This is exactly the content I have been looking for. Please keep making these for whatever games you want (maybe destiny 1 crucible maps? Hint, hint, nudge, nudge)
Hey, just found your channel and I love this video. Thanks for the time making it! I love looking at the environments in games. About NFPA 1 2 3 OX, it could be some weird derivative of Ammonium Nitrate we still don't know about (reminder, Apex is set in the future!), as it almost matches the NFPA, being 1 0 3 OX.
This is the first time I've come across your channel and I gotta say I'm hooked man, please please do more map analysis, and I'll be sure to check out the rest of your videos in the mean time :)
Feels like the Oxy 123 is just a basic placeholder of having "any" value in every slot and making it feel more real than just being blank. Bonus points for not actually existing irl so it can remain ambiguous any mysterious.
I very much appreciate this walkthrough! I love how much details they put into the maps and how they combined it with the lore. When playing initially i loved to look at clues about the incoming or current lore. Its something they used to do, like with the Horizon plot or the Wraith and the Revenant lores. I do miss that, because its just tiny things that arent as explorable. Of course there being ships in the sky or cracks from Alters interference are nice, but its also nice to be able to click on stories or open secret doors. In any case, i very much appreciate the work and like someone else has said thats my type of autism too, enjoy it a lot. I fear the canisters are just 1-2-3 because someone needed three numbers and picked them randomly. But there was also contamination of the people there with something wasnt there? Maybe its this compound. And also it wouldnt surprise me if they labelled it 1 as hazardous but it was actually quite toxic, because it is after all radioactive. If you cant find what it is, maybe its just a made up compound. Id still love to know what it was used for though! yes please do more :3
15:00 maybe they are connected to the residential buildings (small houses?) to be used as fuel? Though I wonder why, 700 years in the future, they'd resort to a method that is already old in our days (we mainly use electricity now). Also it may be used as fuel for vehicles, hence it being present on bug facilities too.
WE LOVE ANY AUSTIN!!!! and I remember the first time I heard about the dog pictures in apex :3c went to see them and my duo and I got lucky with the circle and stayed there pretty much the whole game
Eu realmente gostei muito desse vídeo, estava pensando em parar para analisá-lo mas estava sem tempo. Muito obrigado continue com a boa edição, roteiro, enquadramento e diversão no vídeo!
You made a really good point about the trucks parked next to the 123 tanks, and liked the pinned comment sort of said tok, I personally am 99% sure it's space-fuel, specifically for land vehicles. I think the ones next to those buildings are there simply to park the car/truck looking vehicles, but could also fuel the largwe trucks like the spot near relay. It makes it very convenient for gas/fuel this way, keeping it so all the teams & units to not have to travel any excessive distances to refuel.
I need a series of this with every map please pretty please

I would ADORE seeing you break down more maps/areas in apex! It would be especially neat to see non BR maps highlighted in maybe smaller videos, like Arena's or TDM maps!
Thank god i found this video and it's sequel bc the map design was my favourite part of Apex when i played it from season 1 to season 21 before moving on. Love all the details highlighted in this :D
Apex will always live in my heart as one of the best times I ever had gaming. I haven’t played in a while but this made me really appreciate the time I spent playing. Might revisit just to give it a solid goodbye before the inevitable.
This is the kind of content apex needs. Its in a rough spot rn but this video makes you appreciate the game in a wholesome way
Please make this a series with every map. This is so cool
7:32 this pool actually used to have a house, which was wattson's home according to the lore bits ingame
I adore this concept, and would love to see more maps covered in the future!
series is a must. good shit
im in love with the apex map design, please do more of that. the chemical could be one they found on an alien planet and thus not known to us or sth like that
I really enjoyed watching this! Thie storytelling of maps. I also love your crow persona, its cute and matches your voice!
this is hands down the best apex youtube channel and im glad i stumbled across it. now i can still enjoy the game without actually playing it 👍 great humor, great production, very informative.
THANK YOU FOR THIS
These kinds of videos are the absolute best
What a vid! I like to see more of this on other maps
Glad to see any austin's weird way of analyzing games is inspiring others to be weird little guys
Now i wanna see any austin make a video about an apex map
love your channel so much, it's positive in a way that i wish was more prevalent with apex content creators
The best 21 minutes with 53 seconds of my day, i loved every second of this video
Heck yeah I love analysis videos like these and I never really see one about Apex. Looking forward to the other maps analyses~ I also hope the devs sees this video
this needs to be a series going through all the maps
In short, you could take a tourist tour of every map of Apex to appreciate every little detail.
pleaaase make more videos like these, specially of the newer maps! this was so lovely! i normally do stop around and look at those tiny details in maps but you definitely brought stuff i hadn't thought of, well in part because i began playing on S10, so KC was already very very different, but i'd love to see this approach on the newer ones, specially E-District!
This is exactly the content I have been looking for. Please keep making these for whatever games you want (maybe destiny 1 crucible maps? Hint, hint, nudge, nudge)
Super well made video
This seems like one of those videos that would suddenly blow up in the algorithm.
As a apex player since launch and 5000+ hours i don't know how i didn't notice small details like this lol. Very interesting video.
14:24 LMFAAAOOO
You should really do a deep dive of the E-District map. Its so cool how some areas feel like real places you could visit
Something’s in the middle of a game I just stop and look around to see what kind of little details and Easter eggs there are around the map
After playing on low stretch res I can say this the first time I've seen these.
I hate to add to the fire diamond thing but Olympus reuses the same signs..
Great video!
Id still love to know what it was used for though!
yes please do more :3
subbing cuz this is actually something new with apex content, heck i dont even care if it aint apex. this shit is cool af
Please make this a series
15:00 maybe they are connected to the residential buildings (small houses?) to be used as fuel? Though I wonder why, 700 years in the future, they'd resort to a method that is already old in our days (we mainly use electricity now).
Also it may be used as fuel for vehicles, hence it being present on bug facilities too.
We need *waaay more* of these kind of videos!
Apex Creators with something to talk about that isn't a balance complaint or inherent EA exclusive feature™
4:00 oh yeah, thats me trying to fix exported apex models in blender
That video gave me extreme LazyPurple vibes, keep it up, I can tell you're passionate.
Your videos are addictive as hell, in a good way 👍
Dude i love these f videos ur great at content making hoping for more
PLEASE, I NEED MORE VIDEOS LIKE THIS!1!1!
my map nerd autism was actually autisming throughout the entire video
Didn’t expect to cry from this video
3:50 Portal reference
From one apex lore sucker to another, making this a series is a must
I love videos like this
That morrowind video was awesome. Huge morrowind fan. And the things you do for the Apex community is priceless!
"It can't be oxygen because... we're breathing"
Some powerful deducting skills there
The dead bodies on Olympus will always be the most shocking little map details to find
2:35 Apex seems to be limited on the amount of different sounds it can play at once. Thankfully this has higher priority than footsteps. 😊
0:20 nice music choice, didn't know many people even knew about Pseudoregalia
Yes please do more of these
subbed. I never even considered the details of an Apex map...
It took me longer than I care to admit to even notice the giant screens with the champion squad on.
Incredibly fun video, would love to see more
I declare you're my favorite Apex content creator from now on
