I love tropical maps, this has been my favorite map and changes are always welcomed. Wish King’s Canyon would be larger and drastically change certain POI’s like the big ship
Dude i have no clue on why you do not have over a million views. If I were you I would be so proud of my work. I've never been so astonished with just a youtube video. These are so well crafted and just juicy with honestly gripping information. I love it. Please never stop, what you are doing is something I strive to find on youtube. This is perfection with Apex content.
lol hearing him talk about how worried he was on how worlds edge would be received is wild when I think it’s pretty widely agreed to be the best map they ever put in the game. Please bring back trains tho lol I know they had some instant death tendencies but they were so fun
maps ranked: 1.storm point 2.worlds edge 3.olympus 4.broken moon 5.kings canyon This is for comp and saying worlds edge is the worst map in the game just because capitol city was "removed" is hilarious
As a casual player I've never really liked this map (although with the update last season it has become a lot better), but watching it played on comp really changed my mind on it. Watching this video confirmed my suspicion that it was designed with comp in mind.
great as always. in my headcanon in a few years we will be able to design our own maps even small mini maps. would be fun to see what you all come up with
This is an awesome watch. I remember season 1 of apex and then I stopped playing for a while until Storm Point came back. It was instantly my favorite map, despite some backlash. The reworked version only made it greater in my eyes and to this day it’s easily my fav to play (comp or casual). Loved hearing how it all came to be
It’s really cool seeing the designer insight and choices made to make Storm Point. Makes me appreciate it more now, becauseI HATED it back then when it first released. But after grinding rank more and more. I’ve been getter better at it and finding more value on it everyday!
Storm point was such a godsend from the monstrosity of World's Edge. I wish Olympus was played in the ALGS. Seeing it played in the Asia Festival recently was amazing.
I don't play apex any more but this was by far my fav map when i did, ever since it came out. I know that sentiment was unpopular but im glad people are enjoying it now!
I've loved this map since the very beginning. I love the long range gameplay that can be utilized which is where I am best at. I can pepper people and then allow my close range players to close in and clean.
This video is a fucking masterpiece. The best apex video I have ever seen. U earned a sub, I deserve to appear on a lan to commentate🔥🔥🔥 It’s crazy how well made and professional this video is, as it’s from such a small TH-camr! I applaud u infinite times👏👏👏
Absolutely incredible video. Stormpoint has always been a favorite of mine, it's the subject of my very first video in fact. So seeing the history and development behind it was an absolute treat. Earned my sub.
great video as always. loved hearing insight from rodney really made me understand a lot more of the devs intentions of how they want people to play the game
4:39 this is what I’m currently missing from the finals. It’s just too chaotic, you never known if you are safe to do anything while apex, even as a beginner feels a lot cleaner in that regard.
great video. this guy needs more attention. production quality is great, content is amazing and the guy is just a good fucking content creator. get this man on the map asap. he underrated af.
The way I've experienced Storm Point: the map is so big and the POIs so far from eachother, the matches become boring. You just loot and get bored so whenever you hear any gunshots you instantly beeline towards 'em to actually see someone before final rings = there's third parties *all the time* Also, I've never seen a game end at north pad
Now if we can adopt the SP 2.0 mentality and rework the other maps' center POIs so it feels like the new Jurassic, it might just help alleviate the pain points of those maps. Hammond Labs, Fragment/Monument, Containment, and Promenade/Terraformer (I know they're not directly close to each other but it's bad regardless), would legit make those areas far more tolerable.
Gyser is the best spot for worlds edge as a loba, loot near the vault till you get your ult is a quick advantage. Yeah you can't get a gold or Purple armor anymore but it's a Golden knock or Purple BackPack
listening about their philosophy about how they wanted to limit 3rd party's abilities to choose where to land on by removing jump towers and instead introducing cannons has finally answered me why they removed the crouch canon jump that was, genuinely, only usable with Storm Catcher, although people didn't really ever use it to 3rd party, it did offer them extra freedom out of the cannons, and that went against their core design. while this makes sense, i still disagree with this idea and even dislike how much they constantly strive to make cannons reliably uncontrollable by the player; i've come to really enjoy the idea of making special cannons across the map that allow the player to take control of their landing path, and the reason is simple: it's fun, so i hope they revisit this idea in the future and re-consider. they don't need to, nor should, be as powerful as jump towers, but that doesn't mean they have to take all the fun away from the player by removing any and all agency.
really enjoyed this video. also how do I find that first ever comp match on storm point? I'd be interested in watching it but the youtube search bar is foiling me.

First time watching your videos, and this was really great :) One question from something raised - Command Center cannot be a final ring destination. Why? Could you do an explainer on the ring logic within the game? - i always thought it was completely random.
This was a thing at the start of Season 19, but has been fixed. I know because the footage in the video of an evac being placed in Command was recorded last week.
Olympus feels like the best visually, World's Edge has the most fun POIs, Stormpint is very solid on both design and the POIs. I dont really play on King's Canyon as much, so i dont have an opinion of that.
They need to change the gravity cannons. They need to give you the ability to have the horizon slide when you land. But maybe like 1/10 of the distance or whatever. Because when you land and you just get stuck, it’s just a horrible spot to be in if there’s another team
great video explaining the in and out of the maps. still a little unclear about what makes a good map though maybe that's more explained in a previous video. i still wonder besides hopefully making changes to other maps to "improve" them - would each map have it's own style and its the players job to adapt to it instead of complain what is good or bad? not big on competitive quite yet - but i always felt it would be more interesting in a set of games that players have to fight from one map to another and it goes through a rotation that some teams might be better at one over the other or need to change up the legend they play to suit the map to their advantage.
In comp this is my favorite map, I wouldn't say I like it in pubs but Broken Moon and Kingdoms Edge r slightly worse. The map is too big for pubs but it's big enough for a unique rank experience for rotations where u don't feel like ur getting 3rd party and 50/50 all-game. This is a very unique video which we need more of. Talking to the devs and understanding the decision they made. (Also since u did such a good job explaining this map, can u make a video on why Broken Moon is such a bad map I never played on it, my guess its cause Rodney and so many others who understood apex core map design left or were laid off leading to an incomplete map)
A important point you could have mentioned how its size got smaller in S19 for better mid game fights pervious to S19 it was much bigger and mid games where slow
They need to block legends from match to match, it could be chosen randomly. That's the only way we'll see more diversity in comp. Imagine how cool it would be for us viewers to see teams choosing other legends other than Bangalore and Horizon because they are blocked for the match.
Watching this and what Rodney had to say and then thinking about Broken Moon and Promenade is utterly hilarious.
Look, a good throwdown at the center of the map is always fun! At least for the first time… not so much the 100th.
Fr😂😂😂
Lmao trueeee sup @mokey ❤
Hear me out let’s make fragment but bigger
Fr, broken moon would be sooo easy to fix, just slow the zips by like 20% and get rid of the center poi
Loved all the insights from Rodney
I loved all the insights from that Jhawk guy
OMG!!! ITS THE JHAWK!!!
you was mean and left his discord call 😔
Amazing job covering all of the POIs. Hope you guys are enjoying the changes we made to the map in S19 🙌
Been having a blast on them, thanks for fixing the broken-ness of Lightning Rod and Pylon!
