The sound is really not bad! The biggest problem I see is that the range stops at the high G#! So the last (or with modern guitars the high C) is no longer reproduced! I also see a problem in the fact that the effects start directly below the low E (or D). So you don't have much leeway to write compositions for a 10-string guitar, or pieces that reach up to high C!
Great presentation, thanks, and what a fabulous desk and monitor: a lot of onscreen real estate. The original MAC to the right of the Fender Rhodes is so nostalgic lol
Jef, I love your videos and get excited to see your channel grow! I’m a keyboardist and guitarist, capable enough on guitar to front a few bands. As a result of a recent / rare neurological condition, I have neuropathy in my hands making it difficult to play guitar. This drove me to consider virtual guitar instruments and NI has some of the best 👍 But it immediate occurred to me that you really need to understand guitar playing to make use of the articulations, patterns and modulations. If you don’t know where muted, sqeelies, bends, hammer on/off features go, the results won’t be great. These instruments clearly target keyboard players and producers. How many keyboard players know enough about guitar performance to take advantage of all this greats stuff?
Jef, I have been back to your video many times for reference. It really is wonderful. The one question I still have is this; How are you getting the user interface that we are seeing on the screen... with the patches all lined up on the left side? I see that the library's interface is contained within NI's Komplete Kontrol, and do also have Komplete Kontrol V3.3.3, but I cannot get it to look like what I am seeing your video. If you (or one of your loyal followers!) could point me in the right direction that would be a big help. By the way, I now have a new NI S61-MK3 keyboard on your recommendation! Obviously I am still learning.
Hmm, sounds like you might be on an older version of Kontakt maybe? I think that’s what you’re referring to… I’ll have to check when I’m back at the computer!
DUDE...Your Thumbnail game is EPIC. Love it. If my wife didn't threaten to leave me...again, I would get both of these. Nice review. Message to NI, drop some cash on this kid he's doing a great job for you.
@@jefgibbons Appreciate the question.. I use Protools BUT lately been making, mixing, & Mastering most my beats via Native Instruments. #MK3 is my go 2!!
This sound bank would save me much more than my recently purchased classical guitar but my new guitar smells so good and it is a treat to play. Move my bridge pickup over to it and throw it into Guitar Rig 5 and have some awesome fun. Oh, what were you saying?
No, no no... I decided I would not buy new sounds... but well, I absolutely love Vintage Electric and how playable it is; it seems this one is on the same league, and recording nylon guitar is even more complex... Your demo is as always very convincing, and I love watching your setup (a dream setup if you ask me :) ) in action! :D
Ha! Thanks Cedric! You can always wait until it’s in the next Komplete!! Just wait until that moment when you’re working on a song and absolutely need it!
Hi Bill, you'd have to put it on a sound, then go to Keyboard mode. There you'd probably want to play your chords in on one articulation, then go record additional notes over top to change the articulation wherever you want it. Not ideal!!
I have a few of the previous guitar sample libraries from NI via Komplete. It frustrates me that there's no strumming pattern designer. It would be understandable if the patters were pre-recorded phrases, but I'm pretty sure they're build from individual note samples. I already had many guitar libraries from Orange Tree Samples and they are far more capable, but the NI libraries are easier to use I think.
Good points, I'll check in with them, but to me it sounds more like actual played phrases, which would explain why you can't just change the strumming pattern. Thanks for the comment!
Really interesting and informative video! I've had my eye on this library since it was announced. Looks fantastic, sounds fantastic.
For sure, thanks Rachel!
Very nice! Both of the instruments are awesome. Will have to pick them both up. Hope there is a sale soon! :)
Seven years of guitar lessons and then they make this!!!!! Man ha ha ha ha
Beautiful song! I just bought the Nylon, but I think I'll wait to get Ashlight, etc in combination with Komplete Ultimate
Best to hold off for summer for komplete if you can, enjoy the nylon!

Great video brother. I’m loving them both.
Such nice instruments! I just added a link to your great vid in my description ;) Love your use of Perform FX!
I like the classification based on music this time. If there is music intro, bridge, chorus, it’s even better

They both now included in Komplete 14 ultimate. Fantastic

Hmm just checked the vid, it’s gotta be a view setting, I’d head to the forums and post a pic of what you’re seeing there!

Thanks GC!!! Keep the wife for sure…
Great video
Thanks for your review. How does it compare to Ample guitar layout and overall realistic sound please? Is this more superior?
Great vid Jeff ..I’m going too definitely get these two
Wow! That Picked String sw super niceeee! Luv the cook up🔥 Unc Jef!! Appreciate ALL the valuable/ priceless info!! 💯
Thanks again V! What system (DAW) are you making music on these days?
@@jefgibbons Appreciate the question.. I use Protools BUT lately been making, mixing, & Mastering most my beats via Native Instruments. #MK3 is my go 2!!
I want it but still have not fully explored the options I already have. So many choices in Komplete 13!
Don’t get tempted, use what you have first! ;)

awesome thank you so much for the video , can u turn the patterns into midi to modified them >?
As always great review Jeff!!!! just a quick question: how do I get the various articulation on session guitarist when using Maschine mk3?

@@jefgibbons Thanks Jef
Great video, thanks mate
I would love to love these guitar plugins but they just sound like a piano to me 2:50 Nice review
Thanks Jeff! FYI - both affiliate links go to Ashlight.
Oops, thanks for checking!
@@jefgibbons NP Jef - using the Nylon link now to purchase!
@@BlueJavaTN Really appreciate it!
Hi Jef, great video as always. Can these guitar instruments be played using Maschine MK3 or do I need a keyboard?
It is possible, but put it in keyboard mode and octave down so the lowest pad is the first key switch!
Fire
Hi Jef. I have a Komplete Kontrol M32 keyboard. Do yo think 32 keys is not enough for using Picked Nylon properly?
Nice glasses

hello jef
what do you use as your pc screen ( brand, type nr )
BC shirt dude!
Aha, you live here! Sweet!
Is the ashlight a crazy cpu hog?
It’s always one hater 😂 that dislike the video nice tutorial man I appreciate this content
Great reviews but much like Nylon Sky the attack on the nylon guitar seems consistently a little too hard.
You talented bastard lol.
Il manque trop d'accords importants comme par exemple l'accord de sixte vraiment dommage car sinon ce n'est pas mal.
Was pretty disappointed until 4:57
This Ashleigh instrument is nothing special, one more atmospheric instrument in a sea of oversaturated atmospheric stuff.
I don't know what instrument you play, but it certainly isn't an acoustic nylon guitar. This sounds seriously over-produced and electric.
