I have the trilogy and since the first one, I've been trying how to manage to get the sample part in loop when using my own samples. E.g: when I open 'Pad/Abandoned Quarry' in Ashlight, the Sample 'Wowa Drone' is playing in loop when I hold a key. But when I put my own sample there, the sample part stops after one shot. I've asked the same question to the developers but they just don't answer... I guess I have to do that in the Wave Editor but how?? It's frustrating.
@@claired.1286 Sure mate. I see what you mean and really can't find how it is done (also search the user manual) so I sent email to the sound designers that worked on this product... (The Solos). Let see what they say..
I got an answer from the developers at NI. It seems this feature is not publicly available . Maybe in the future they will expose loop start/end option.
Hey Neo, I'm playing notes.. not loops.. it's me playing using some presets. If you plan on buying this and not sure let me know and we can arrange a quick session.
@@UDiAudio That's what I was hoping. Sometimes I can't tell if they're loops or the person is playing them. Thank you for the offer on helping I'll keep that in mind seeing as you've been nice enough to offer. I'm sure I will have questions regarding other things music production. Haha.
It's a real pity to not using the utmost capabilities of these instruments by sound designing my own sounds. Because of the rush nature of the industry and project deadlines, there's no time available to sit and craft one own sounds. This is due to the fact that we're solo producers who are the jack of all trades doing the writing, arranging, editing, mixing, mastering, marketing, sending stems, make mix versions, PRO registrations, following up,..etc. Presets are okay but using them alone introduce two issues: 1) Hindering valuable resources by utilizing only 50% of the product and 2) They're predictable in lots of music when hundreds of composers use the same presets. We can get around the second issue by further FX processing the presets to make them unique. Honestly, If I have the wealth and big financial income, I wouldn't hesitate to hire a sound designer who work with these instruments and come up with useful unique sounds while focusing on my writing. I would even hire a mixing/mastering engineers to deal with the final production. The only guilt that I constantly feel when I invest in these VSTs is not using them 100%. I really love to sound design because it's fun. Time is just short! It's like we hope the day is 48 hours instead of 24. Good stuff mate, loved the vid 💥
Absolutly. I know most people don't have time or can't take the time to learn the tools and instruments they have. That's where my channel comes in. I hope I help a little with the tutorials. You are welcome to always get in touch with me via facebook or discord for advice or help.
i feel the same about not using 100% of the plugins fuctionality ..this guy in the video is just reading off what buttons are there ...i can read that myaself ... some peoples tutorials do not explain in great detail ...he said he was gonna do a deep dive into this at the beginning of the video ... not deep enough for me ...Time is just short! native instruments ashlight won't work Kontakt 6.5.3 It says it's too old! Yet I have no way to update, and NI will not reply or assist in any way, I just get passed to the "support" page......and we all know what a waste that is. Yes, I've tried to reload 6.5.3 in Access, but all I get is...6.5.3.
I believe it's somehow depends on the preset and how many or which effects are used. I was able to load 4 instances of Ashligh and both Pharlight and Straylight with no problem but when changed to some presets on Pharlight I had some CPU spikes. I did not research this much but I guess you can expect it to consume as much CPU as the others. I ran Dell Alienware, Core i7 8th gen with 32GB RAM with SSD for storage.

I have all three now great stuff!
Yep they are really cool and if you understand how to use the engines you can get a lot more out of them even with your own samples
So are those presets you were playing loops? Or can you play any key/note with those sounds? Sorry very new to this. Informative video though. Thanks.

I heard you can use your own samples in ashlight. Is that true?
Yes you can.
Same as with the Straylight

Could I import my own samples? (like in the other two plugins)
Yes you can

I’m sorry to hear this. I wish I could help but I’m not sure how..
Is it as CPU-heavy as Phar / Stray?

Very good review thank you ! CPU consumer far more OMNISPHERE ! but very interesting VST...
Thanks Yvan. Yes it’s not CPU friendly but still sound great. really depends on the preset and how many notes played..
