    I’m never brave enough to make many of the recipes and appreciate your video showing how to, I’m inspired by that. The 1 recipe I’ve made and is a favorite, the Olive Tapenade page 37. I grow basil too and also oregano. Thank you Nan.

      Me too, Kathy! I love that recipe. It’s such a treat to be able to enjoy olives to that degree. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and kind words. 🌻🥰🌻

    That looks so beautiful and I bet it tastes delicious 😊I think I see pomegranates in the background. I have been enjoying pomegranates from my tree. So good for your mitochondria. Have a delicious day.

      Hi Carol! I love pomegranates and they are just becoming available here. What you see in the background is a plate of tomatoes, we are still getting beauties from the farm store.🌻🥰🌻

    I love the cherry pie from that book. I've been plant-based for 15 years and on either the full GBL healing protocol or hypernourishing for nearly 2 years. Like Dr. G, I'm high raw. My autoimmune was pain was intense at times--dull and in the background at other times. I haven't tried this dish but will do so with zucchini. I'll wait to try it with in-season asparagus next spring. Thanks for these videos.

      Hi Suzy, wow, I love your journey using these protocols! Good for you!
      Here in Southern California, we can get asparagus all through the years, but as another person mentioned, I think the thinner stocks are better raw than the thicker ones, unless somebody really likes that heady flavor. The zucchini noodles are a great substitute. Thanks for sharing!

    Nan, I’ve been loving following your journey! And you’ve inspired me to get Dr G’s cookbook! Thanks for sharing some of the recipes. So helpful. I’m wondering if you’d noticed you’ve lost any weight on the 6 week protocol so far? Also, have you felt hungry or tired at all? Thank you!

      Hi Hen, so glad that you have enjoyed this. I’m glad that you got the book because I will refrain from posting the recipes from the book. Copyright laws and all.
      I have the FULL carafe of smoothie, and lunch salad with an avocado, and dinner salad or other dish, usually with more avocado. All of this to say that I’m definitely not hungry; actually often very full.
      I’ve lost 4 lbs, which, because I’m already small, is a lot. I hope that this was helpful. My best to you- stay in touch.🌻🥰🌻

      @@NanSimonsen Absolutely delicious! I would recommend buying asparagus that is quite thin, not the big stocky ones.

      @NanSimonsen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

       that’s a very good point Louis! I have a friend who loves asparagus raw, any size. I’m not one of those people, and the thinner asparagus would have a sweeter, milder flavor. Thank you for sharing. 🌻🥰🌻

    ??? I love ground flax but the thought of using flax oil doesn’t excite me at all. Do you think a person could use ground flax and a little water ???
    I am on day 18 of Dr. G’s protocol and doing well but missing potatoes 🙃. 🌻🥰🌻

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Karalee, day 18, good for you. Yes during weeks two and three we definitely start missing things. Actually all the way up to six weeks and even now there are things I’d like to have, but I like what I have without them better. I do look forward to step down and some of the grains and legumes that I love.
      I don’t know about the flax and water. It will definitely be different. I used only a few tablespoons, Dr. cheese recipe called for 5 and that seemed way too much for me as well. The oil gives it a certain texture, the texture of the flax and water will be different, but you can experiment on a small amount. Let me know what you think.🌻🥰🌻

    Hi Nan. Thank you for the recipe. I just ordered the cookbook.
    I’m wondering if you have the full container of smoothie and also the 1lb of salad for dinner (if your husband wasn’t having some).
    Also is your raw lunch 1/2lb of greens also?
    Thank you.

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Good questions Perettelear! The smoothie has 1 full lb greens/cruciferous. My lunch salad has about 4-5 oz of cruciferous-kale, arugula, red cabbage, radishes, cauliflower, as well as other veg and fruit, usually apple. And dinner is more raw veg-for example the extra salad I made & saved for lunch, in collard wraps, with some steamed shredded cabbage (so lots more cruciferous). I hope that this is helpful. 🌻🥰🌻

    Thank you for sharing. I just wanted to mention that the salt has to be iodized salt. Dr G mentioned that the average person needs 150 micrograms daily. If you have thyroid issues it's 300 micrograms daily.

    • @NanSimonsen
      @NanSimonsen  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Lorinda, you’re right, iodized salt is an option, or those amounts of iodine can be taken as a supplement which I do.🌻😳🌻
