Like him a huge metal fan now, love fairly obtuse bands like lorna shore.
Tool is my favourite band and even that just sounded like noise when i started, all metal kinda did but over the years metal just gets better and better everytime i listen, i understand the rhythms, breakdonws etc being a guitarist myself i love hearing heavier and heavier riffs and more creative guitar sections with lower tuned guitars.

I thinks she's kind of undeveloped or maybe previously undiscovered musical talent. She seems to instantly understand the structure of the song, notices transitions, appreciates complexities right away which took me fucking years to appreciate. Metal is fucked up, and to actually hear the music through all the crazy and wild arrangements, you need to have an EAR. Lex has got it, probably even more than you need for simply being a fan, or listener, and that's why I believe she could probably pick up some instrument and be pretty good at it. Raining Blood is one of the most experimental/nonsensical Slayer tracks and id didn't scare Lex away, so there you have it

Slayer's landmark 1986 album 'Reign in blood' set a standard for speed in metal...only 30 minutes LP. Just a blitz of guitars & double bass drumming from 1st track 'Angel of death' to last track 'Raining blood' ... 🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥

Top 5 worst Thrash Metal albums ever. You take away the already average Angel Of Death and Raining Blood the album is only 20 minutes of pure shit. Speed doesnt mean a thing when the album has zero good songs. Slayer is my 3rd favorite Thrash Metal band but this is their worst album. Most Thrash Metal bands their top rated albums are overrated and not good but this is just a joke. Anyone who isnt a poser with a brain knows South Of Heaven is #1 then Hell Awaits, Show No Mercy, Seasons In The Abyss.

"Abolish the rules made of stone" are the 10 commandments.
The entire last verse describes Satan's victory over heaven and all its dead, bleeding angels, thus raining blood.

Brad's no buzzkill, just a different, authentic reaction. Lex is def 100% a metalhead, though. Love her descriptions of how everything feels and sounds. So spot on and accurate, yet super unique.

Just because someone doesn't react exactly how you want them to, doesn't mean they are a buzzkill

Yo comment’s a buzzkill. Brad is 100% a trooper for listening to this, interpreting it, and attempting to understand it. Not his fault if he never gets it. It’s just not his vibe yet, and may never be.

Slayer are not my bag, not because of the heavyness, I listen to heavier things, they just never grabbed me, but they had their moments and this track is one of them, great main riff and at the time of writing this there is 66 comments , very fitting lmao

When Slayer plays this song live....Literally all hell breaks loose....Thee most violent aggressive pit of thrashing raging sweaty men you have ever seen. And when its done eveyone cheers, celebhrates and helps the fallen and exhausted up making sure everyone is alright...Its amazing to witness and is something you will never forget...I have seen Slayer a half dozen times and its always a site to see. Something you have to witness first hand to get the scope of the utter chaos during this song. Its amazing!!

Cool fact. Maybe somebody else said it, but Kerry king is the lead guitarist for slayer. He happened to be in the defjam studio when the beastie boys were making their first album. Brad thought something sounded familiar. It might be that Kerry did all those crazy solos on "no sleep till brooklyn", "fight for your right" and probably more on that album, just because he was there and was cool with it. Sorry if I repeated info.

I think that's common amongst most of the reactors who grew up listening to hip hop. As the lyrics are of key importance. Whereas with metal the guitar is of key importance.

Yeah, sometimes focusing on the meaning of a song can distract a person so much that the song becomes a jumble of sound. The Beatles would even write songs with gibberish lyrics in order to first focus on the sound of their songs.

This song got me into Slayer with Black Magic! I saw the clip back in the early 90s and instantly sad that is thrash metal, the hardest music I have ever heard! And it always recalls the concert memories of Slayer: standing in the moshpit and jumping like hell while the first fast part of this songs is played. Tom always used to look at the audience by this part and smiling when he saw people go crazy :)

That breakdown part *chef's kiss*. The very last Slayer show I attended during their farewell tour me and the guys in my row grabbed the seats in front of us for balance and we didn't headbang to the beat. We full bodybanged to the beat. One dude threw himself into it so hard he went face first into the ground. He was VERY drunk and super amped up from the song so he didn't even feel it but I'm sure his face was swollen the next day.
