My first album my dad looked at the back and gave me the most disappointed look lol. It had a warning label. I was 13 I'm 50 now and my granddaughter is the new fan
As an Old skool Slayer fan, this is the most Wholesome reaction. And you're right. The Crowd goes ape sh×t when Kerry King leads in. And the proper way to say the bands name is FUKIN SLAYER!!!!!!!!!!
Music to calm the savage beast. Hardcore Metal-heads are some of the happiest and most chill people. I know, I'm one of them. The heavier the music, the better.
I love this. Tom Araya is actually a friend of mine. Lucky to have met him and his wife. Seeing people get turned on to Slayer is my favorite thing in life
The beginning of this song is really the end of the song before it called Postmortem. The song has more context when you listen to Postmortem/Raining Blood as a whole track like it was intended when released in 1986. RIP Jeff Hanneman
Agreed. the entire album is great, even though it clocks in at under half an hour. The standout tracks for me have always been Angel of Death, Altar of Sacrifice, Jesus Saves, Postmortem, Raining Blood. The others are decent, but those are the tracks that get played live when I was going to SLAYER shows..
That's wrong, the track marker is at the wrong place in the original vinyl, it's simply a failure, and unfortunately it was taken over to the discversion.
@@ereignishorizontab7218 was it wrong on the cassette too, where there was ZERO pause between the songs? You see , I still have that cassette from 1986...... It's even written on the sleeve as " Postmortem/Raining Blood", and plays as ONE song, like Holy Wars/ The Punishment Due. There is no break between the songs such as is between Reborn and Postmortem.

I’m 51 and have been a Slayer fan since my mom took me to see them play under the name Serpent, at Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, in 1983, just before they released their first album. Bro, when they released Reign In Blood, even my reaction was like yours. This record really helped define the thrash metal genre, and was harder than anything they’d turned out previously.
I’m 52, in the Uk & first I heard them was this album was when released & I felt like you guys! But you’ve got a really cool story there, thanks for sharing. Hope you’re well!

Another 50+ here, I first saw them live on the Seasons tour, although I had been listening to RIB and SOH hard prior to Seasons. My mom was definitely not cool enough to take me to a SLAYER show.
Saw Slayer perform this live a bunch of times. People LOST their minds. They would deliberately extend that spooky opening for as much as 3 minutes some shows just to build the anticipation as much as humanly possible. When it ended and they went to it people went insane. One show I literally got football tackled by a dude who threw my ass back about 10 feet all the while screaming "SLAAAAAAAAAAAYERRRRRRRR!" After he helped me to my feet we put our arms around each other and screamed every word of this song like our lives depended on it. Good times.
I smiled so big for him and his reaction. It makes me happy that he enjoyed it so much. I figured he would turn it off and say, "No! This is garbage!' I was lucky enough to see Slayer live 2 times. They were AMAZING!
I so wish I could go back and hear Slayer for the first time. Your reaction, my friend, is absolutely priceless! You instantly got what Slayer are all about and I LOVE IT!!!
The greatest heavy metal song ever created, there is almost no way to describe what it's like seeing it live....no matter how many times you see it.!☠️

I went to see slayer and pantera in dallas texas, when slayer hit the stage the thunder started. Then the drums. The first riff piecerced through the stadium and the crowd tension was building. Then the place erupted, as blood fell from the rafters upon the stage! The crowd erupted into total chaos!!! Within seconds the chairs on the floor were flying to the edges!! The police scrambled to leave the area as bon fires and fireworks erupted in the pits! People were burning their shirts and blankets in the fires and twirrling them around their heads as pieces of flamming material reigned down around the pit! When slayer finished the set, the whole place was in complete shambles. As several bon fires could be seen still burning throught the entire venue. It was hands down the best concert I've ever been to. I still think about how the whole stadium just erupted into total chaos and how quickly the police and security scattered!
