    You ask, what do we like? My response: I enjoy everything you share. What I most like and learn from are your vessel operations in real-time without too much editing. For example, route planning, course, anchoring, docking, maint, repairs, problem-solving, tide/wind/weather management, etc. I'd like to learn from your experience and adventure vs. just sightseeing with you. And, I enjoy the sightseeing and your overall story. Rob

    During my Navy time,we spent 176 days at sea, in the middle of the south China Sea, the amazing thing is when we got 300 miles from the Philippine islands. We could smell them nothing bad it smells like soil because at sea there is no odors just sea air. Just for laughs. We all had a hard time walking on solid ground we kept feeling like we were wobbling.

    Thanks as always for your inspiring and beautiful content!! You’re so right about how fast the time flies while underway - not what you’d expect! BTW, a rebounder on board is a fabulous way to get that cardio in along the way!! Find a bungee model, crank up the music, and a 15 minute jump gets the heart rate up and running!

For myself I’m vicariously cruising with you as I look up locations in my WAGGONER CRUISING GUIDE all the various locations you mention and read about them. Love the drone video as MV Freedom cruises southeast along the West side of Vancouver Island (left of screen to the right of screen) indicating your return to home port. Excellent video editing. Looking forward to seeing your next video. Travel safe 😊.

    I haven't been in Sullivan Bay for 25 years or so, it was a great spot then but without many of the amenities you enjoyed. One of our first overnight passages was from Sullivan Bay to Haidi Gai, then known as the Queen Charlotte Islands. We spent ten days or so circumnavigating the southern island before continuing our circumnavigation of Vancouver Island.

    Love the long-cruise videos - it reminds me of growing up and waking up on the small trawler we had. I used to love the sound of the diesel rumbling away. It was always a treat to wake up whilst underway. Less so, if you have an early-hours stint at the helm on ‘log-watch’, I’m sure! 😂

    For those wooden beam tie ups, a clove hitch works great as long as the dock line isn't too long. We stayed at Sullivan Bay one night last summer on the way to Alaska. It was nice, and I understand it's remote for supplies, but holy s**t was it expensive! Underway, we listen to audio books from the library downloaded when internet is available. We become so engrossed in the stories, the hours pass really quickly and we forget to eat or exercise.

    I thought … what the heck, I like boats. So I went to Ft. Lauderdale and took a class and got a job on a yacht. Easy peasy…. First time we moved the boat…Ft Lauderdale to St Martin…1500 nautical miles, 5 days straight, 4 hours on 4 hours off, one stop for fuel….NOT EASY PEASY!!! LOL I spent one season on two boats… the first 89’ the second 105’, it was amazing, … it’s easy peasy… one class and your off and cruising!!

    Hello. Would you mind sharing what your average fuel consumption is @ cruising speed? (For those of us looking at full timing it). I notice from your vids you seem to cruise at 7 knots approx. Also you have a single eng with a wing? Thanks from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦 keep up the great videos

    • @mvfreedom
      @mvfreedom  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes we have a single main and wing as backup. We cruise at an average of 6.8 knots and burn about 2.5 gal per hour of our 1,200 gal fuel tank. We average 1 refueling per year.

I have been living on my granparents property in Gibsons ( very near where you encountered all the driftwood.) Your assesment was honest, the marinas do not create a great first impression. And yes, we do want to know what happens on the cruising part of the cruises. Maybe even a peak at a quik look at the engine checks while underway, or any equipment checks. the boating part of the trip.
    Another question, for long legs, do you sometimes make meals ahead, and put them in fridge for quick microwave, if needed, while underway? Oh, well, guess that's more for Shawn, since you mentioned you typically don't eat while underway
