Malekith's wounds were reignited by the Phoenix Guard at the Battle Of Maledor in −2724 IC, so he fled the field, which caused his army to rout. Caledor withdrew to the border to Ellyrion and Averlorn, disbanding much of his battered army and planning a further offensive, in case Alith Anar failed to overthrow Malekith before the next campaign season. But before the Shadow Warriors could launch a coup in Nagarythe, Malekith and Morathi initiated their last-ditch gambit.
In their first winter in what became Naggaroth in −2722, the Black Arks were frozen in by ice and the first outlying naggarothi settlements were pillaged by Hung raiders. The Hung gathered outside of the beached citadel of Anlec that would become the foundation of Naggarond, but then decided to withdraw. Whether this was a cost-benefit calculation by the raiders, or whether it had something to do with Morathi's previous deal to teach the sorcerers of the northern tribes is unclear. The Hung raiders returned the next year, but found that the Naggarothi had organized better defences and had been reinforced by further settlers, including nagarothi stragglers, followers of the cytharai cults and loyalists from Elthin Arvan.
The naggarothi maintained a presence in what was now the northern isles of Ulthuan and a few Black Arks remained in the area, continuing to skirmish with the Asur navy and contest control of the Blighted Isle. It was 94 years after the Sundering that Malekith sent a major expedition to retake Nagarythe and the naval war ramped up. Around this time, Caledor began building the fortresses in the Annuli Mountains. The Druchii also raided for human and goblin slaves to work in mines and plantations in the (relatively) more fertile south of Naggaroth.
It was shortly before the Asur gained naval supremacy around −2425 that the Druchii began to explore the caverns beneath what became Hag Graef and tame cold ones. It was in −2219 that the Asur pushed the Druchii out of Nagarythe and in −2200 that the Asur retook the Blighted Isle, although Morathi conjured a storm to isolate Caledor, who threw himself into the sea rather than be captured. Around this time, Druchii nobles seeking to avoid punishment from Malekith took their followers to Hag Graef, which grew into a city. Clar Karond and Karon Kar became major pirate ports in the next 2 centuries.
It was after the Druchii were again driven out of Nagarythe and the Blighted Isle by Tethlis in −693, during what the Druchii called the Years Of Hateful Peace, that the Asur became lulled into a false sense of security and thought Naggaroth was in decline. They were disabused of this notion when the Phoenix King was assassinated and an Asur punitive expedition was slaughtered at Har Ganeth in 1122, preceding yet another Druchii invasion of Ulthuan in 1125.

The black arcs hull being actual castle walls probably wouldn’t actually protect it that much from imperial navy great cannons. The reason being is that you can actually put cannons on a ship that are in-fucking-sanely huge. When mounted on a ship there’s technically only one limit to how big a gun you can fit. That being how much recoil the gun itself can take before it literally rips itself out of the ship. Everything else like displacement, space, and balancing can simply be solved with bigger boat.
Unlike on land where you’re limited to actually being able to direct the damn thing you can steer a naval gun simply by turning the ship.

    • @caileanfindlytearle6936
      @caileanfindlytearle6936 ปีที่แล้ว

Yes and no, there is a reason that before the Victorian era and the improvements to metal hull ships that the era brought, ocean going ships were all within a certain size. That being the confines of physics: the material of the ships needed to be able to not snap in half when the bow and stern of the ship were on the top of waves while the middle of the hull was unsupported.
In practice, this means that a 30 meter long ship needed to have a keel strong enough to hold up the entire 30 meters of ship if the waves decided to hate you.
Of course Warhammer has the advantage of "magic makes it work", but physics does still apply to a certain degree in most cases.

I honestly can't understand how these guys never conquered Ulthuan.
I mean, Sparta beat Athens for a reason a warrior society will beat the Poet society

In an old codex for thr high elves i got from my uncle tuere is a syory about an especially militant high Elf that lead a massive invasion of naggaroth that nearly eradicated the dark elfs. The high elves are less poets that fight and more fighters that live long enough to learn poetry

@@memecat57 Bruh, Naagarond is literally Sparta
They learn to fight from infancy.
I get being on the defense helps the HE often but sorry no, the Asur should have lost the Sundering just based on how OP Naagarythe was

In most of the fluff it usually involve malekith inability to abandon his pride of holding his old crib on the doughnut, some magical mcguffin from the vortex, and also the dragon squadron of Caledor

The high elves have more dragons as I understand.
Now the DE do have dragons but it's canonical that they're fewer in number as the eggs must be stolen from Calador

Chronic backstabbing syndrome. Naggaroth is famously the Land of No Chill.

TWWH 2 is definately not doing the black ark any justice. It is terriblely underwhelming...

Arch……. THOU SHALT NOT SPEAK OF THE END TIMES NOR OF THINE AGE OF $H1TM@R! Fun fact Mauls “Dark Blade” has roots in a land locked black arc. His mom os from one.

Please use some other background music, or at least change it from video to video.
No joke it’s the reason for me not really watching you as much.
    Much love, Love

I do not like this Druchii. Her smug aura mocks me.
