- Malcolm X was born 98 years ago today, on May 19, 1925, and assassinated at age 39 on February 21, 1965, as he spoke before a packed audience in the Audubon Ballroom in New York City. We end today’s show remembering his life and legacy with an excerpt of a speech Malcolm X gave at the Audubon Ballroom about half a year earlier called “By Any Means Necessary.”

'By any MEANS NECESSARY'!
I'll always remember this great motif.
R.I.P Brother Malcolm X (El Hajj Malik el - Shabazz) 🙏🏿
Yes indeed.
Live by it and Teach it.
RIP Malcolm X❤
Rest in Peace and Power Brother Malcolm.
We love Malcolm X in Africa, I love Malcolm X in South Africa. You are the son of African soil. May the ancestors of Africa be with you in paradise
Malcolm X was ahead of His Time!💯👏
He is needed today! Still relevant today! We are not free today! The year is 2023!
One of the best orators of all time! ✊
He had a choice - to die or fight.
Yeap Malcolm X was a great man did NOT really agree with him on Islam exactly but he made some powerful speeches and l guess black people had to learn what where their roots and belief systems when they where taken from Africa itself has slaves in order to heal and learn about their ancestors just like any nation or country around the world 🌍.
Black people have a right to learn their own history and where their ancestors came from.
@@gabrielmaroto18 You're got to be kidding me. Who's keeping YOU in chains in 2023? Or are you still incapable to escape, to quote Mr. X, the slave mentality?
R.I.P. Malcom X. He spoke the TRUTH
Yours is one of, if not THE only news orgs that I've seen commemorate his birth, and remind us of his continued relevance. Keep up the superlative work!
They're the only major News media left in America as far as I know. Everyone else has quit all world news and any American topic like this that could possibly make their cash cow government look bad. Either they lie like Fox to your face or the rest who lie by omission. The rest are garbage.
They do it every year
Yes, but don't forget or overlook Urban View 126 XM radio. Please don't forget them.
@@MrCeora thanks for the tip. I tried XM when it came with my car free for a few months. And I'm so far in the sticks, the signal kept cutting out. Cell service is often out for huge areas around here. But it will be great for many others.
✌️❤️
Thanks, and of course, we know that WE keep the torch lit for him.
Still relevant today✊🏽
@@SteveXNYC Yes he has a bunch of haters on social media as we speak they came out of the woodwork when I said that he would have been 98 on his birthday.
Yes absolutely CORRECT and true.
No shit because nothing's changed.
Indeed my brother ✊🏽
I’m white and I believe Malcolm is a martyred hero
Same here he loved his ppl and his message was not about hate but overcoming hate, but that wasn’t true of everyone around him
Yep, same
Im 13 and this is deep
Even if you didn't believe it, it would still be true
same. we must carry on what he started
"The Constitution of the United States of America clearly affirms every American citizen the right to bare arms"
Not 🚫 if they're felons tho ..... The Constitution itself doesn't read that way but that's the 🐂 💩 we got goin on
Powerful words
His love and light stills lives in the hearts of all who heard his message and we’re and still are inspired
as there can be no peace without Justice
and injustice is beating justice 99% to 1%. god help us all. we're all doomed.
@@markcross3492 Well, its hard not to share that perspective. Doom sure dominates headlines with millions of impressions a second. Given population growth, I sometimes wonder if there is more horror now than all the massacres of the last Epoch? Or even the 60's? What would Malcolm say if he were here today? Is it a full defeat, or some light streaming through the cracks? "by any means possible". Maybe possibilities to change our 'cultural story' will come through consciousness (common unifying state) vs morality (tribalism/nationalism/religion).
Well said and well OBSERVED.
Brilliant man. RIP Bro. Malcolm X.
A light yesterday and a light TODAY
One of the best speeches ever given in history point blank period
Thanks for spotlighting this... I believe the quintessential human rights issue on the planet is providing equal human rights to all men through the acknowledgement of American racism.
"to all men and women"? or "to all humans" maybe? Bad phrasing there. Hope to god you didn't mean "men" only, when your concerned with rights.
Though animals and plants, and all life, also deserve rights.
Happy Birthday Malcolm X 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤
There has never been a greater orator than Malcolm X.
Bro have you simply not heard other speeches
Lol c'mon man
He's def one of the greats, but MLK Jr gives me goosebumps and Obama is a great speaker too, and even people like JFK and Roosevelt were great speakers too
Adolf Hitler got quite a few people on his side
Thank you brother Malcolm. You changed many, many lives...
Happy Birthday, Malcolm 🙏
RIP El Hajj Malik el-Shabazz ✊

Amy, thank you for elevating this historic time. I was born in 63’. I think of my parents and how they were treated during this awful time. I also think of all the issues I’ve dealt with in my life and how Malcolm made it his life’s mission to better the lives of all people during and after his short life. Again ❤ thank so much Amy for shining a light on this historic time.
Malcolm was sick and tired, of being sick and tired. An intelligent man, he clearly knew the problem, and was advocating the best way to solve it quickly.
Self defense is no offence!
Today i learned that malcom x is a major supporter of the second ammendment and the right of self preservation. Pretty well spoken.

Greatness gone way too soon. Just think of what he could have done and helped his ppl accomplish.
White people must be protected. For the sake of the community.
P it kind of brings a tear to mine because him along with many others not just specifically black but they all played a role in to dictating our society today and warping our future into something different remember my political science professor told me is the uncomfortable conversations that may change
