    • @NickyM_0
      @NickyM_0 5 ปีที่แล้ว +157

@@dislikesolutions2479 I *CRINGE* at your ignorance. For a Black man to be fearless in revealing just how intelligent he actually was and to use that intelligence to directly challenge a White, endemically racist, system of Black oppression was no mean feat. In fact those very characteristics ultimately resulted in his assassination and the early demise of a great, relatively young man.
It is so easy to look the other way and become blind to the injustices you see, it is so easy to be a coward and cower in the face of adversity, it is so easy to play dumb and stay silent rather than to call out racial injustice and it is so easy to intentionally act like a fool or simpleton to make a White person feel unthreatened by one's intelligence to avoid the inevitable White racist backlash. So yes, *Malcolm X WAS FEARLESSLY INTELLIGENT. DEAL WITH IT.*

@@johnfic4751 You guys are all looking in the wrong places. This kind of insightful discourse is available everywhere. Just don't go looking for it on Fox News, MSNBC, CNN, RT, or any of the major commercial networks. It can seem pretty boring to most people, which is why the commercial news outlets prefer the shouting format. Not all guests are as brilliant, articulate, and frankly charismatic as Malcolm X was. I could listen to him all day and never stop learning.
He was far from perfect (he dodged the question about hate speech pretty easily, but they didn't hold him to it - two legged dogs, European demons, etc.), but even in his imperfection, he was made even stronger because he never ran away from it. He was very public about how misguided ("wrong") he was before his haj, and for most people, it would be courageous to admit that. For Malcolm X, I think he was just being himself by talking openly about it. Honesty was not something new to him. It was all he knew, and despite his demeanor, I believe he was very humble. He was just Malcolm. "Are you a militant?" "No, I'm just Malcolm."

@@porterchristopher1834 Yes that was his drive and purpose, to learn the teachings. Im speaking on doing the work and research while in prison and to become the great orator that he was. Its POWER in that. Dont under value that fact. For example, I'm an angler right, I could show you how to fish to catch bass but if I just gave you the equipment and said go catch some fish....could you do it? I highly doubt it. But if I gave you the knowledge of the equipment and how to apply it, spool your line, how to tie specific lures and what to look for, then you would take that knowledge yourself, research and apply it. That would be your purpose. Does that make sense?

The way Malcolm X uses language is so profound. He doesn't have to shout or demean his hosts, he simply answers their questions so directly & truthfully that he shows thru contrast how uninformed or deluded his hosts' questions are. Malcolm X simply states the world as it is, the facts as they are, the reality as it is...& you feel the truth of his statements in your very bones.
Just as amazing is that he's a self-made man.
Malcolm X became one of America's towering thinkers & speakers without benefit of much formal education. Of course, he had erudite teachers & peers in the Nation of Islam & on his travels etc. But he became Malcolm X thru self-discipline, reading, discussion, writing, thinking, speaking. An extraordinary man who lit the path so anyone who wants can follow.

True but it goes a little deeper than that . Malcolm was also a very bright student in school but he eventually drop out due to many reasons.
When Malcolm drop out of school in the eight grade he was the top student of his class .
He wanted to be a lawyer but was encourage/discourage by a racist teacher to be a carpenter because that all his race was good for his teacher actually told him.
His teacher also said Jesus was a carpenter to persuade Malcom even more to become a carpenter.
He was never the same after this event. Then his father was killed by a racist white nationalist mob called the kkk.
And to make matters even worst his mother had several mental breakdowns and was finally committed to a hospital .
Which ultimately lead to the state putting Malcolm along with his brothers and sisters into different forester homes .
I know you probably know this but some people may not .

I believe that everyone in this country who identifies as a so called African-American should purchase a physical copy of The Autobiography of Malcolm X, sit down, get comfortable, and explore the life and thinking of this truly remarkable human being. Denzel portrays Malcolm X better than I believe any actor ever has or ever will...yet, that movie leaves out valuable information and critcal details about his life that are in his book.
And even after reading it twice myself and spending countless hours researching him...I have realized that even his autobiography omits very interesting details about him. Such as his relationship with Fidel Castro. Dont turn away from the knowledge based on what you've heard and been taught; research and self-educate. You'll find that Nelson Mandela, Muhammed Ali, and even Jesse Jackson had meetings with and a friendly relationship with Castro. But America hates him. Why is that? American his-tory will not give you the true answer. You must dig. Peace!

Before Malcolm educated himself in prison he had difficulty writting letters becsuse his knowledge on words and vocsbulary was limited and not all that great. When he picked up a book he would have to skip at least half the page because he coudnt understand words that were in their. He then got a dictionary and stsrted from the letter A and wrote all the words down and read them aloud, then he startes retaining most of the words as he chronologically went on the next lettd B and so on. He finjshed writting all the words out and read them all aloud in the dictionary book. He became a small walking encyclopedia and started reading devouring books the whole time he was in jail and that fascinated him, he understood all wordz and hence was able to retain the information in all books he read and was also able to express himself when writting letters profesionally. He then went on to receive his masters degree in History and i also think he also studied Political science. Malcolm X went on to be a dynamic spokesman for the black muslims. He was feared by many, he was respected by many.
